What to see and do in Erfoud
The town
Erfoud offers few tourist attractions. At most, you can visit its souks, take a look at the illuminated façade of the royal palace in the evening, and explore the many fossil quarries found on the outskirts or around the town.
Date Festival
Every year, for three days in October at the end of the harvest, the town becomes the date capital.

On the Tinejdad-Erfoud road, near El Jorf (20 km before Erfoud), you can see hundreds of small craters, one or two metres high, on either side of the road. These are actually wells whose deep channels drain water from sometimes very distant groundwater tables.
