Accommodation in Marrakech
Location Map of Marrakech
Overview of the offer
Given its tourist vocation, Marrakech has a very large hotel sector with countless establishments of all kinds and for all budgets. Despite this, it is more than useful to book in season.
Hotels of all kinds
Very wide choice. The big chains and high-end hotels are mainly located in the Guéliz district and the new town. More "affordable" or backpacker-friendly establishments are, for their part, on the side of the old city and the medina... as are, incidentally, many riads.
Riad
Riads are large traditional houses with charm, featuring a patio, well restored and converted into small hotels. This is a typically Moroccan specialty, particularly associated with Marrakech, to which the city is increasingly linked. In short, Marrakech has a plethora of riads, mostly in the medina, which doesn’t prevent good opportunities from being rare at certain times of the year, making it preferable to book in advance.
In terms of rates, while you can find options around 50 to 60 € per night for two, expect to pay more like 80 to 100 € for a nice establishment with breakfast included. Although the price may sometimes seem high for Morocco (and can inflate during peak periods), spending even one night in a riad is a great experience and is recommended for any trip to Morocco.
