Flying to Peru
Location Map of Peru
General Information
Given the country's size and terrain, Peru is well-equipped with around 200 airports and airfields. Of these, four serve international flights (Lima, Arequipa, Cuzco, Iquitos), and about twenty handle regular domestic routes. The most important by far is Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, with 26 million passengers in 2025, making it one of Latin America's busiest hubs. It also serves as the main base for several local airlines.
Local Airlines
Peru has around ten carriers operating regular flights, with three standing out: LATAM Peru, a subsidiary of the Chilean group of the same name, is the largest with an extensive network, alongside low-cost options SKY Airline Peru and JetSmart Peru for domestic and regional flights.
Others include LC Peru and Star Peru, which operate domestic routes, as well as smaller carriers specializing in charter flights, air taxis, or scenic tours, such as Aerodiana with the Nazca Lines.
From France and Europe
While Peru is relatively well-connected from Europe compared to other destinations in the region, options remain limited. Lima is served from Paris (Air France), Amsterdam (KLM), London (British Airways), and especially Madrid or Barcelona, where Iberia, LATAM Airlines, and Air Europa offer the best schedules. Expect around 12 hours of flight time, with fares ranging from 700 to 1,000 €.
Alternatively, U.S. airlines often appear in search results but may not be the best choice due to longer flight times, higher costs, and the hassle of transiting through the United States. For simplicity, European airlines—whether Air France’s direct flight from Paris or connections via Spain—generally offer the best value.
From the Americas
North America
Flights to Lima depart from Atlanta (Delta), Florida (American, Avianca, JetBlue), Los Angeles (LAN), New York (LATAM, United), and Texas (American, United). From Canada, only Air Canada operates a route from Toronto.
