Accommodation in Bolivia
FR

Overview of the Offer

As in other Andean countries, accommodation in Bolivia largely revolves around small hotels and family-run guesthouses, with occasional lodges or bungalows in natural settings. In the Amazon, options are more limited and thus often pricier. That said, like many other things, the rates for establishments are generally not at all excessive and can even be considered the cheapest in Latin America... though comfort and services are not always top-notch.

Hotels

High-End

Unlike its neighbor Peru, which now also caters to a wealthier clientele, Bolivia has very few high-end or boutique accommodations. These are mostly found in major cities like Sucre, La Paz, Cochabamba, or Santa Cruz. Even if this "luxury and comfort" isn’t necessarily expensive (starting from just over 50 € for a double), if you’re opting for high-end, it might be better to choose establishments like historic colonial mansions in the city, countryside haciendas, or a lodge deep in the Amazon rainforest.

Mid-Range

This is essentially the hotel, bungalow, or guesthouse accustomed to visitors, offering comfort that should be sufficient for a pleasant stay. Depending on the location, you’ll find private bathrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, or heating—though the condition of these amenities can vary. Generally, for 15 € to 25 € for a double, you’ll already have a great selection.

Budget

These small local hotels or often family-run guesthouses provide basic comfort that’s enough if you’re not too demanding. You can sleep here for less than 10 € to 15 € for a double or 5 € in a dormitory.
