Other practical information for Bolivia
Luggage and equipment to bring
Except for the Amazon where lightweight items are sufficient, along with a light layer for evenings and air conditioning, plan for all seasons with both warm and very warm clothing for the Altiplano. In all cases, everywhere, also think about sun protection and especially rain protection, mosquito repellent (outside high-altitude areas), and good walking shoes that are preferably water-resistant. For the Amazon rainforest, rubber boots for walking in water are most recommended.

Time difference
Local time: .
Bolivia is on GMT-4. This means 5 hours less in winter and 6 hours less in summer compared to France. Note that while neighboring Paraguay and Brazil share the same time, there are differences with Peru (GMT-5) and Chile and Argentina (GMT-3).
Electricity
230 V (50 Hz) with "American" plugs (officially type A) but also "French" plugs (officially type C). Even though both systems are often found, it’s still a good idea to bring an adapter just in case—you can buy one cheaply locally.

French language use
French is not at all common in Bolivia, and if traveling independently, it’s best to know at least some Spanish (the main official language) or English (widely spoken in tourist areas). It’s also worth noting that 170,000 people speak German in Bolivia.
