Things to Do in Greece
Location Map of Greece
Beaches and Seaside Resorts

It was in the 1960s that beach tourism began in Greece. Since then, the destination has become a must for many Europeans. The country boasts countless beaches of all kinds (pebbles, white sand, black sand...), bays, coves, and now seaside resorts ranging from "popular" to "high-end" and even "trendy." While the beach image is often associated with the Greek Islands, the mainland coastline is not to be outdone and remains, in some places, far wilder and quieter. In short, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Diving
There are numerous diving clubs all over Greece and its islands, catering to all tastes and levels. For those who prefer to dive without a local structure, be aware that the activity is heavily regulated, especially near historical sites and ruins. You’ll need to submit a prior request to the local authorities, just as you would for spearfishing.
