Nature-Adventure

In the postcard-perfect sea and beach category, the Seychelles may be as close as it gets to what you imagine. Stunning and unique landscapes, plus underwater wildlife and giant tortoises that have become one of the archipelago’s main attractions. That said, the Seychelles are better classified as a "relaxation destination" than an "adventure" one.

Culture

The Seychelles aren’t really a destination for cultural trips. Outside the capital Victoria, there’s little trace of the past.

Relaxation-Holidays

This is the destination’s strong point, with the added bonus of being a sought-after setting for honeymoon trips.

Independent Travel

The country is a very easy independent destination, perfect for beginner travellers thanks to good infrastructure (transport, accommodation), language ease, and very low risks. That said, the "backpacker" style isn’t really the target audience here.

Organised (and Honeymoon Trips)

The Seychelles are a "classic" in many tour operators’ programmes, even if Mauritius is more prominent in the region due to more affordable standard offers. That said, for either of the two islands, the destination is almost exclusively offered as "flight + hotel" or all-inclusive stays. It’s also widely proposed for honeymoon trips and, to a lesser extent, for "local" cruises or in the Indian Ocean.

All-Inclusive

All-inclusive has long been a specialty of Seychellois tourism. The archipelago has many high-end establishments with the facilities and services that come with this model, found on the main islands as well as on certain islets or small islands (Cerf, Bird Island, Frégate...) that have been turned into resort complexes. Most remain relatively affordable as all-inclusive packages, but overpriced if you only buy one or two nights on the spot, especially in season.
