Getting to Belgium by Land or Sea

Belgium shares 645 km of common border with France, 478 km with Netherlands, 153 km with Germany and 150 km with Luxembourg. Road and rail crossing points between the countries are numerous and pose no problems. Moreover, as all are members of the Schengen Area, there is no border control under "normal circumstances".

Less well-known than the Eurostar, Thalys is the train line connecting France (Paris) to Belgium (Brussels) and beyond to Germany (Cologne) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam).
