Hi everyone, During my upcoming trip to Thailand in summer 2025, due to organizational reasons, I’ll be staying in Ayutthaya for 3 days. On the last day, I’m thinking of visiting Wat Muang and doing something else nearby—but what? That’s the point of this post... What can I do around Ayutthaya or near Wat Muang?

Thanks for your suggestions!

Hi,

It's a flat region. Apart from the temples, there aren't any huge points of interest.
Toujours une fois. Au moins.

Hi there, I suggest you stop by Maharat Buddhist Park, located about 25 kilometers from Ayutthaya. It's a lovely park by a pond with a shaded local market and the gigantic golden statue of Luang Pu Thuat. Along with Wat Muang, this free visit is a must-see in the Ayutthaya area.

Hi there, Back in 2019, we spent three days in Ayutthaya, and it’s true—it’s a stunning place, especially if you love temples! I remember my partner got a bit tired of me dragging her all over the city to see every single one… but apart from that, there aren’t *tons* of other activities. You might want to check out Bang Pa-In—it’s got a floating market and a summer palace. It’s only 20 minutes south. And don’t forget, during your stay in Ayutthaya, take a boat ride on the Chao Phraya River.
