Agency or guide for the Huayhuash trek (Peru)

Hi there!

I’ll be in Peru in mid-May and I’d really love to do the Huayhuash trek. Back in France, I’ve done a few treks independently with my own gear, but since I travel light and solo, I think it’d be more interesting—and safer—for me to do this trek with a guide who can also provide equipment.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a guide and/or trekking agency, as well as an idea of the price for a 10- or 12-day trek?

Thanks so much! :)!!

Hi there. When you arrive, I’d recommend visiting several agencies—they’ll give you all the info you need. Back in June, I did just that in Cusco and Arequipa. I’m heading back for a month at the end of May since I didn’t have time to see everything. On the other hand, I’m planning to climb a few volcanoes after acclimatizing. Cheers. Gerard

Hi there. In Huaraz, the "Krusty Hostel B&B" offers reasonably priced rooms and also organizes the unforgettable Huayhuash trek 😊. I paid $350 for eight days of hiking in a group of 10 people—it was a lot of fun. You can rent gear there too. I’d checked elsewhere but wasn’t convinced. To get from Lima to Huaraz, the overnight bus is super convenient.

An incredible hike—the most beautiful one I’ve ever done.
