Je suis censée partir avec une amie dans quelques jours en Thailande pour 2 semaines, le circuit devrait-être (Bangkok - Phuket + îles) et j'aurais aimé savoir ce que vous pensiez d'un budget de 1000 € par personne pour :
- vol à l'interne (Bangkok - Phuket AR)
- logement (environ 13 nuits, catégorie moyenne mais propre comprenant la clim et salle de bain/toilette perso)
- nourriture (le local ne me dérange pas tant que c'est propre)
- excursions (îles, zoo, trekking éléphant, nage dauphin, cascade, sport nautique... )
- shopping (sappes, souvenirs... )
- soins (massages, pédicure, manucure, esthétique)
Par ailleurs, j'aurais voulu savoir si pour la catégorie de logement visée il y aura des serviettes de bain et où est-ce que l'ont pourraient déposer nos biens en toute sécurité ?
Sans problèmes avec 1000 euros pour 13 jours, ça fait plus de 3100 bahts par jour, d'autant plus si vous partagez le prix de la chambre à 2 (car c'est pas le prix par personne en Thaïlande, mais celui du bungalow ou de la chambre). Je pense qu'il faut compter dans les 150 euros pour un A/R BKK- Phuket. a mon avis tu devrais prendre 200eu en plus, car tu seras tenter par pleins de choses, surtout au niveau shopping 😛

300 € logement + nourriture = 8000 bahts divisé par 13 jours = 620 bahts env. En prenant un bungalow à 600 bahts (c'est tout à fait correct) et en le payant à 2, ça fait 300 bahts/jour, donc il reste 300 bahts/ jours pour manger, c'est le minimum correct avec de la nourriture de rue (pas avec des restau). Phuket (je n'y suis jamais allé, je connais que l'aéroport) est un des endroits les plus chers en Thaïlande. Moi, je ferais l'impasse sur des activités style jet ski, et ne ferais pas une boulimie de shopping (on a droit à 20 kg de bagages/ personne au fait + un bagage à main) ça permet de ne pas se priver au niveau nourriture ; cramer 1000 euros en 13 jours et faire gaffe à la bouffe, c'est dommage...surtout en Thaïlande !!!😕
Nous avons le droit à 30kg par personnes et pour les vols à l'interne on prendra un low cost à l'aller donc 20kg et avec Nokair au retour on aura également le droit à 30kg :-)
Pour le logement j'ai trouvé des hôtels plutôt sympa sur Patong (Phuket) à 20 € / nuit donc je reste dans mon budget et pour la nourriture je mangerais à ma faim mais j'ai pas besoin de resto classe ni de gastronomie française car je ne vais pas là bas pour ça.
Des amis qui sont déjà sur place s'en sont tirés pour 4 € à 2 (2 plats consistant + 2 boissons) et apparement c'était excellent donc parfait !
Concernant les sports nautiques 45 min de jet ski = entre 10 et 20 € (c'est plutôt pas cher) cependant, ce n'est pas une nécessitée je voudrait surtout aller d'iles en iles... Une idée des prix ?
Une idée de prix pour les autres excursions que j'ai cité plus haut ?
Et concernant les serviettes et la sécurité de nos effets personnels ?
Comme tu l'as dit Phatasai tout est relatif c'est pourquoi j'aimerais avoir une idée du coût des excursions mais dur de ne pas résister à la tentation du shopping (je ne fait pas allusion aux contrefaçons mais à l'artisanat, aux fringues sur mesure ou non, aux souvenirs etc... et bien évidemment aux MASSAGES !!! lool )
Pour les serviettes, pas de problème, il y en a dans les logements bien meilleurs marché, alors à 20 euros la chambre...
Les massages, compter de 200 à 300 bahts de l'heure ; les excursions, ça veut dire quoi exactement, aller faire un tour autour de lîle en pirogue à moteur ? ou à l'intérieur de l'île ? compter à coup de 200 ou 300 bahts je dirais/personne + location masque tuba 100 bahts de plus ; tout dépend des itinéraires, des fois y a même le repas compris. Je laisse répondre ceux qui sont déjà allé à Phuket, moi, c'est pas le cas ! Sinon, l'hôtel à sûrement comme presque partout un "safety box" pour laisser les trucs de valeur. Pour le shopping, mieux vaut aller faire un tour dans certains marchés et magasins de BKK, les prix y seront moins chers qu'à Phuket et il y a une multitude de choix. Pour aller visiter les îles alentours, compter de 200 à 300 bahts je pense, tout dépend des distances ; compter de 200 à 300 bahts pour faire phuket - koh Phi Phi par exemple.
Ce sera ma première fois en Thaïlande donc je ne sais pas comment ça se passe là bas, pour ce que j'appelle "excursion" c'est se rendre sur les iles (visite, activités sur place s'il y a des choses à faire) après si il y a des package (ex : transfert AR phuket-kho pipi + repas visite activités) c'est encore mieux ! lol
En tout cas merci pour tes réponses ça me donne une idée déjà, pour le shopping je pensais à Bangkok aussi j'ai entendu parler de chutachak le soucis c'est qu'il est ouvert que le w-e et je n'y serais peut-être pas à ce moment...

Tu fais pas dans la dyslexsie des fois ? 😏 Je plaisante bien sûr ; en fait il s'agit du marché de chatuchak et mon pseudo est phasathai (qui veut dire "langue thaï").
Oui, Chatuchak c'est un des plus grands marchés de bkk, c'est un marché du week end mais il y a peut-être certains trucs ouverts en semaine (prendre le sky train direction Mo Chit et descendre à cette station qui est le terminus, tu tombes pile dessus). Sinon, il y a aussi celui de Pratunam mais c'est quasiment que de la fringue (juste à côté de la plus haute tour de BKK, la Bayoke tower repérable de très loin): descendre avec le sky train à la station "Chit Lom", prendre la première grande artère à droite (Ratchadamri road ou thanon Ratchadamri en thaï), la remonter jusqu'au bout, puis tourner à gauche (sur Phetchaburi road ou thanon Phetchaburi), c'est à 150 mètres à droite ; le Platinum qui est un grand magasin spécialisé dans la fringue pour femmes, est sur la gauche (voir ces deux liens ci-dessous avec le plan satellite). Honnêtement, il y a beaucoup trop de boutiques et de choix...

Pour les excursions tu peux les trouver sur le forum grâce a la fonction Rechercher souvent négligée 😉 Mais en vrac il y a la baie de Phang Nga (James Bond Island), Koh Raya et Koh Phi Phi a visiter par exemple. Sinon sur Phuket même il faut aller au View Point, au Prompthep Cap, aller voir le Big Bouddha et visiter le temple de Chalong entre autres idées que les activités balnéaires 🙂

Pour ton vol, le bagage à main en général c'est 7 kg et au gabarit. Renseigne-toi, parce que 7 kg c'est quand même pas mal en plus du reste.

Pour te donner une idée sur les excursions il faut compter environ 1000 bahts/pers. l'excursion dans la baie de Phang Nga, a titre d'exemple, peut couter de 700 bahts en ferry (un peu l'usine), 1000-1500 bahts en speedboat jusqu'a plus de 2000 bahts en jonque. Cela comprend en général plusieurs prestations dont le déjeuner et le matériel pour faire du snorkeling, on visite la plupart du temps l'île de James Bond et le village sur pilotis des Gypsies de la mer et parfois une balade en canoë-kayak dans la mangrove 😉
J'étais à Phuket en septembre dernier, j'ai également fais une excursion du côté ''est'' de Phuket, soit Phang Nga.
On a payé 1500bahts par personne, en speedboat. Le prix comprenait: Le transfert de notre hôtel au port d'embarcation en minibus. (environ 45minutes). On est arrivé vers 10h30 au ''port''. Première étape, après environ 30minutes de bâteau, sur l'île de Krabi où on a fait du snorkeling (Des magnifiques poissons tout de même, malgré un fond marin très ''brut'') durant 40minutes, tout le matériel étant fournis. Puis direction le village sur pilotis comme Boumbastic l'a également cité. Des plats et des plats remplis de bonnes nourritures nous étaient servis. On a très bien mangé, c'était local. 30minutes de temps libre dans ce village, quelques boutiques de souvenirs et autres! Puis départ pour l'Île James Bond, 30minutes sur place environ. On nous a déposé en bord d'ile à ''rochers'', pour y faire du kayak aux alentours avec quelques singes perchés sur les arbres, quelques grottes, c'était bien sympa! (2 personnes par kayaks, avec un thaïlandais qui rame, n'hésitez pas à donner un pourboire). Puis direction pour une dernière île (dont je ne connais pas le nom également) avec une grande plage à sable blanc pour s'y baigner et se reposer (2h30).
Transfert vers l'hôtel en minibus à nouveau en début de soirée.
On a réservé cette excursion dans une agence avec 2 vendeuses très aimables en face de l'Hôtel ''Kata beach resort'' à Kata beach. Mais toute manière, des dizaines et des dizaines d'agences à Phuket avec à l'intérieur des dizaines et des dizaines d'excursions différentes, donc tu auras du choix!

Krabi n'est pas une île mais une ville sur le continent proche des stations balnéaires d'Ao Nang et de Railey, ne confondrais tu pas avec Koh Khai qui est une halte pour le snorkeling ou même si les fonds ont bien été abimés par le tsunami on arrive encore a voir de beaux poissons et des coraux encore vivants en s'éloignant un peu de la plage 🙂 Sinon tout a fait d'accord pour le reste et notamment pour le "tip" aux rameurs de la mangrove d'autant plus que j'avais le Captain Jack Sparrow a la pagaie 😉
Pourriez vous me dire si 2600 euros sont suffisant pour 15 jours a bangkok svp je voudrais m amuser bien comme il faut et faire du shopping l hotel est dejas…

Baie d'Halong 3 jours et 2 nuits
Tam coc 3 jours
Mai Chau 2 jours
Sapa 3 jours
Vélos , scooters, grab et bus pour les déplacements.
Hébergements principaux en homestay et hôtels sur Hanoi.
Nombreux musées , temples et quartiers sur Hanoi visités
Trek de 2 jours et 1 nuit sur Sapa avec May de la minorité Hmong en direct et sans agence .
Plusieurs petits regrets , temps couvert et pas de possibilité d'aller au Fansipan mais rien de grave 😉, pas pu trouver de transport pour rejoindre Mu Cang Chai de Sapa .
À part cela , ce voyage restera gravé dans nos mémoires pour la gentillesse des vietnamiens , les rencontres faites , la nourriture ( rue , homestays...) , les cafés 😋, les paysages , la facilité pour se déplacer ....
Notre volonté était de prendre notre temps et de nous consacrer uniquement à une petite partie du Nord Vietnam.

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. Does anyone know of a private transfer or taxi company that organizes transfers from the Sukhothai area to Chiang Mai?
Our routes are Sukhothai-Lampang, Lampang-Chom Thong, and Chom Thong-Chiang Mai.

For our Bangkok-Sukhothai trips, I use a company I’ve already tried, but they don’t have a fleet available from Sukhothai and have to go through third-party companies—which, understandably, take their commission. This nearly doubles the prices...

My trip’s coming up, and I’m having a bit of trouble with three bus/minivan routes. Usually, I find everything at this time of year, but this time—yikes!
Sandakan → Sepilok:
No app for this one—you just hop on bus #14 at the local terminal (pay cash on board). But where do I catch it, and where’s the stop??

From what I’ve heard, it’s the Sida Express company (great name, right? 😄).
Can’t book online, but apparently, you *have* to because there’s only one bus at 8 AM.
Where do I board, and where does it drop me off?
