Salut a tous, je vis presentement en Australie depuis presque 2 ans et je devrais probablement, si mes plans ne changent pas, partir etudier a Vancouver en janvier 2010 (je suis citoyen canadien et je me suis deja inscrit a l'universite).
Je vais demenager avec ma copine qui elle, n'est pas canadienne.
Je me demandais premierement, en moyenne combien dois-je m'attendre a payer par mois pour le loyer d'un apartement, d'un studio ou d'une petite maison, une ou deux chambres, dans un quartier pas trop mal? Quels quartiers sont a recommender et quels quartiers sont a eviter? quels sont les secteurs plus industriels, ou il serait facile de se trouver de lemploi dans une "warehouse" ou "factory" (entrepot, etc)
Est-ce dur ces jours-ci de trouver de l'emploi a Vancouver avec la crise economique et tout?
Aussi, comment puis-je m'organiser pour arriver a Vancouver et me trouver un apartement, un studio ou une maison a louer dans un court delai (disons dans un delai de 7 jours). est-ce preferable de rechercher dans les journaux, sur un site internet ou autre? est-il facile de louer un place a court terme, pour quelques mois? ou est-ce normalement un contrat fixe d'un an?
Est-ce preferable d'avoir son propre moyen de transport ou le transport en commun est-il assez accessible? Si je veux macheter mon propre auto, y a t-il des inspections requises par le gouvernement pour changer le nom du proprietaire (par example ici en australie vous devez passer un test qui asseste que lautomobile est en bonne condition, etc)
Si vous avez d'autres infos qui pourraient m'etre utiles ce serait tres apprecier, je ne connais personne la-bas donc je n'ai pas vraiment d'idee a quoi m'attendre, et j'ai peur de ne pas me trouver de lemploi assez rapidement. Quel est le salaire moyen pour un job du genre cuisinier, caissier, ou ce genre de trucs?
Ouf beaucoup de questions... je vais tenter de répondre à quelques unes.
Logement: c'est très dispendieux mais ça reste dans le raisonnable. Reste que Vancouver est la ville la plus cher. Si on sort de la ville c'est plus abordable. TOUS les appartements sont semi-meublé. C'est-à-dire poele frigo, laveuse-sécheuse. Je dirais que pour un deux chambres ça peut varié de 800$ à 1500$ par mois. Les contrats sont parfois au mois, parfois au six mois... disons que ça dépend du propriétaire.

Emploi: Je pense vraiment pas que c'est un problème de trouver de l'emploi à Vancouver. Beaucoup de centre d'appel, beaucoup de travail dans le mileu hotelier, restauration, etc...

Moyen de transport: À vancouver même, c'est sans problème pour le transport en commun. Si vous sortez de la ville assurez-vous de demeurer pas trop loin d'un station de skytrain. Disons que les horaire d'autobus de banlieu laisse à désirer!
Une voiture est très dispendieuse ici à cause des assurances. Environ 1500$ annuellement. Pas moyen de s'en sortir ICBC a le monopole.
Inspection à tous les deux ans obligatoire (Care car) environ 45$ + les réparations si il y a lieu. Si tu achêtes une voiture d'ici, BC, la compagnie ICBC connait le dossier du vehicule. Le problème est quand on arrive avec une voiture d'une autre province.

mon offre est la suivante:
Au Premier étage (salle de bain sur le même palier), 2 chambres disponibles... In maison de ville à Vancouver (banlieue), à 15 mn du downtown, Vancouver, en prenant le métro (appelé par ici sky train, ça roule en haut au lieu d en bas).
Secteur tranquille, près des restaurants, cafés, bars , épiciers (Safeway), parking au sous-sol.
La maison est limitée par une piste cyclable. Les 2 chambres donnent sur des jardins privés.
elles sont équipées, une d un Double lit, et l autre plus petite d un lit simple, télévision via câble dans chaque chambre, accès d'Internet (à grande vitesse), 2 heures par jour dans le salon.
Wifi gratuit si vous avez votre propre portable.

Mais, on fini quand même par si faire à la longue.
Pour le boulot et les études, c'est difficile de vous dire. Je suis maman à la maison et travailleuse autonome. Mais le collège éducacentre de Vancouver m'a beaucoup aidé et pourrait vous donner des pistes de ce côté. Il y a aussi Simon fraser university qui est bien réputé et les gens sont bien placé pour vous informer. Ne vous gênez pas pour contacter les deux endroits. Ce sont vraiment de bon contact à avoir.
