Dans les 2 cas, ça me paraît assez jouable ton affaire.
Soit tu payes la totale et t'es tranquille (1600 euros me semblent corrects pour la prestation complète), soit tu vas te coltiner la douane toi-même (bonjour la galère, je te préviens, ils sont vraiment super ianches quand ils veulent), sachant que c'est à l'aéroport que ça se passera et que tu as des risques d'être obligé d'y retourner pour le moindre bout de papier qui te manquerait!
En effet, si ton véhicule fait partie de ton déménagement complet, tu ne seras pas surtaxé dessus.
Mais indépendament des taxes, tu ne couperas pas à la douane, ne pense pas que nous sommes en France/Europe à ce niveau là, nous sommes à... la Réunion... grosse nuance! ;)

j'ai fait venir mon combi par cargo depuis Fos sur mer par Long-cours.
j'ai payé cher (3000 €) car j'ai pris un conteneur et j'ai chargé mon van à presque plus pouvoir le fermer ! 😛
attention à l'arrivée sur l'île, souvent on ne te dit pas qu'il faut que tu es un transporteur local pour qu'il sorte ton conteneur du port (si conteneur bien entendu) = donc à payer en plus.
franchement, la douane, j'ai rien payé. je suis arrivée avec les photocopies des papiers demandés, j'ai signé l'attestation qui dit que tu n'as pas le droit de vendre ton véhicule avant 1 an et c'est tout.
je suis restée 15 min dans le bureau, super sympa.
pour la carte grise, c'est 1,50 ou 2,50 € pour un changement d'adresse et pour avoir des belles plaques (pas chers non plus).
ah, juste un conseil, si c'est le combi de la photo, fait lui une belle beauté anti-rouille avant de venir et n'oublie pas de couper ta batterie pour le voyage en bateau, c'est préférable !

Le moins onéreux que j'ai trouvé, c'était le roro: 1100 euros, dont 700 pour le bateau de Hoegh Autoliners, 300 pour les intermédiaires en Afrique du Sud, et 67 euros pour l'intermédiaire au Port (SGM, 83 rue Jules Verne).
Si mon véhicule avait fait moins de 1,65m de haut, ça m'aurait coûté 200 euros de moins.
J'ai pu laisser (en partie en douce) mes affaires dans les coffres du van, y compris les bouteilles de camping-gaz, mais rien de valeur (à moins que vous ayez une cachette, car les véhicules restent ouverts, clé sur le contact).
J'ai pu avoir la franchise à la douane du Port, pas la première fois où j'y suis allé (la douanière disait "Qu'est-ce que c'est que cette histoire") où on voulait que je passe par un agent, mais la seconde où je suis tombé sur d'autres douaniers plus coopératifs. Et pourtant mon véhicule est "utilitaire" selon la carte grise (pas de franchise normalement), mais j'ai expliqué que je l'utilisais comme un camping-car.
Donc, ne pas hésiter à revenir.
Pour un transport en container, le moins onéreux que j'ai trouvé est à 1400 euros par Super Group Micor.
J'ai trouvé ce fil en voulant me renseigner pour les formalités de carte grise ici, et je cherche des bons plans garagiste au sud de l'île. Je suis installé à Saint-Pierre.

Ouais tu vas triper sur St-pierre c'est la ville du sud qui bouge le plus par contre pour la plage perso j'préfère l'étang-salé à côté, alors sinon si tu penses éviter les crises là-bas, j'penses que là tu t'plantes méchant parce-que les crises tu les prends en pleine tronche sur place et tu le ressent au niveau du taf (en ce moment le bâtiment tire la langue)qui est galère à trouver, les loyer sont cher et la boouffe tu verras de toi même c'est hallucinant même si tu bouffes local d'ailleur tu pourras t'apercevoir que les locaux n'ont pas que du riz dans leurs chariot mais plutôt des marques que nous z'oreille peuvent même pas nous acheter et j'imagine que tu vas pas bouffer du riz tous les jours?!!!!ceci dit c'est une île super agréable ou il fait bon vivre avec une qualilté et un rythme de vie bien tranquille rien à voir avec la métropole!!!!maintenant si t'es démerdare et ça doit être le cas avec ce que tu viens de te taper tu devrais pouvoir trouver un job et t'en sortir!!!!!

La plage manque de profondeur et de vagues, mais j'aime qu'elle soit en ville: pas besoin de prendre la bagnole, enfin, le van.
Par crise, je comprends que tu parles de crise financière. Je crois qu'il va y avoir un gros effondrement de ce côté-là, surtout après m'être renseigné sur l'arnaque du monopole de la création monétaire par les banques privées. Je me suis d'ailleurs acheté de l'or par rapport à ça.
Mais je parlais de crises encore plus graves (qui peuvent liées à celles-ci). Tout l'arsenal nucléaire est dans l'hémisphère nord, et en plus notre métropole est numéro un pour le nombre de coeurs nucléaires civils (58), dans un état qui n'est pas fameux lorsqu'on se renseigne. Et il y a une séparation éolienne entre les deux hémisphères. C'est ce qui a incité mon ami à venir et moi à le suivre, entre autres.
Ici, il y a du très onéreux, mais on trouve aussi des kiwis à 1,5 euros les 2 kg, et j'achète de l'alimentation bio au maximum, des trucs assez simples, très peu de viande.
Tu n'as pas tort et d'ailleur tout ce que tu m'dis là me conforte dans ce que je penses sur le nouvel ordre mondial et tout ce qui est lié!!j'espère alors être de retour à la réunion avant cette débacle!!!!!!!

Ben oui, le but, c'est aussi de pouvoir acquérir un terrain ici pour pouvoir se nourrir en autarcie. Ca, l'"élite" n'aime pas car ça ne participe pas à leur soi-disant "croissance" qui n'est que celle des échanges marchands et de l'hétéronomie.

Nous arrivons avec notre combi Westy de 77 sur l'île en septembre. Vous êtes toujours là bas?? Et ce qui est des taxe d'octroi de mer (vu que la carte grise est fourgon, donc utilitaire), il y a une taxe en plus normalement. Mais vous dites qu'il y a moyen de ne pas la payer?? ça serait cool. Car là, le moins cher en container de groupage en partant du Havre, c'est 2350€ sans compter la taxe à l'arrivée.
On le fait partir en container pour pouvoir le charger et vivre dedans au départ, le temps de s'installer. Vu qu'il est aménagé, on veut pas tenter de l'envoyer en ro-ro.

A mon avis, vous devriez vous interroger sur la différence de prix entre roro et container et sur le prix de votre équipement intérieur. Il y a une faible probabilité qu'on vous vole ce qui est à l'intérieur, surtout que ça doit être plutôt encombrant et fixé (réfrigérateur, lavabo, etc.).
Mon van a fait le trajet en roro entre l'Afrique du Sud et La Réunion, puis est resté une semaine au Port, sans problème. J'avais laissé de nombreuses affaires dans mes coffres (dont trois bouteilles de Camping gaz, ce qui est interdit).

Je vous explique ma situation.
J'ai malheureusement perdu mon passeport , et je m'en suis rendu compte seulement 2 semaines avant mon départ pour une mission humanitaire en Libye. Je suis infirmière et cette mission me tient vraiment à cœur.
J'ai d'abord fait une demande de passeport d'urgence, qui a été refusée par la préfecture du Val-d'Oise, au motif qu'une mission humanitaire programmée ne constituait pas un motif impérieux.
J'ai donc déposé une demande de passeport biométrique le 20 juillet. Depuis, le suivi est bloqué et la mairie ne peut (ou ne veut) pas vraiment me donner d'informations. À chaque appel, on me donne une version différente. La dernière information que j'ai eue est que le passeport serait produit depuis le 23 juillet et avec un statut "va être expédié", mais depuis plus rien.
J'ai réussi à repousser mon départ au maximum à mardi prochain, mais je commence vraiment à paniquer.
Est-ce que certains d'entre vous ont déposé une demande autour du 20 juillet, notamment dans le Val-d'Oise (95) ? Combien de temps avez-vous attendu entre la production du passeport et sa mise à disposition en mairie ? Est-ce normal que cette étape prenne aussi longtemps ?
Cette mission représente énormément pour moi. J'avais tout organisé et je suis également censée assister au mariage d'une amie à la frontière juste après.

The information I’ve found about whether an international permit is required is contradictory. Some sources say you need one, others say you don’t.
Could anyone let me know if an international driver’s permit is necessary to rent a car in Australia (Perth), or if a French license is enough for a 7-day rental?
I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....
So, to anyone who’s successfully gotten the authorization, could you tell me which address you used to get that "elusive" approval?...

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?

My departure is slowly approaching, and now that I’ve got my Russian visa sorted, I’m fine-tuning the rest of my trip to Tajikistan. Since the Tajik visa is no longer required for stays under 30 days (for French nationals), I’ll need to visit the Ministry of Interior (OVIR) to register within 10 days of entering the country. No big deal, though, since I had to go there anyway to apply for my GBAO permit. 😉 However, I’ve *seen* several reports from travelers (mostly motorized) mentioning that you need an entry permit for Kyrgyzstan, which has to be arranged in advance at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) in Dushanbe. Otherwise, you’re *stuck* at the Kyzyl-Art border (with no Wi-Fi, of course, to try and sort it out). The most recent report was from a year ago, so I’d love to know if this is still the case and if it’s indeed at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) where you need to go for this pre-authorization.
