Le vaccin contre l'encéphalite japonaise, c'est clairement non, pas besoin.
Il n'existe pas de vaccin contre la malaria, seulement des traitements préventifs dont aucun n'est fiable à 100% et des traitements curatifs.
Pour la Thaïlande et le Laos, ce n'est pas utile, à mon avis, de prendre un traitement préventif mais d'autres pourront te dire le contraire.
Pour tout ce qui touche à la santé, il n'y a pas de règle absolue, il faut s'informer et ensuite décider soi-même.
Si tu cherches le mot "paludisme" (plus usité que malaria) dans ce forum, tu auras plusieurs heures de lecture.

Oui, mais je conseille de toujours vérifier l'état des moustiquaires ou des grillages aux fenêtres avant d'accepter la chambre ou le bungalow.
Si vous voulez vraiment assurer, on trouve facilement des moustiquaires légères et bon marché à Bangkok.
En Thaïlande, dans des GH de 300 à 600 bahts la chambre, c'était correct la plupart du temps. Pour le dire autrement, je n'ai jamais utilisé de moustiquaire personnelle en Thaïlande, les rares fois où il y avait des trous, j'ai fait changer la moustiquaire.
Au Laos, je ne sais pas (hélas, mais ça viendra).

je lai pas faite pr le laos, chine, thai, jy suis allée en aout-septembre au laos il y a des moustik un peu, tu peux trouver des sprays a mettre sur toi mem facilement c assez efricace je crois mais svt perimés (sic) sinon jai pu trouvé a vientiane ds un magasin pour touristes un diffuseur rond qui marche avec plaquettes et que tu branches sur secteur on en trouve aussi en chine, le mien etait thai (marque elephant)cela coute 3 euros et je trouve que ct tres efficace (a utiliser ds la chambre only car marche pas avec piles...sinon les diffuseurs a ultra son marchent pas mal pas de marque a te recomander mais on en trouve en france pr 7 euros a piles (fo chercher qd mem) et 5euros sur secteur... ya des moustikaires ikea (10-15euros ?) mais je trouve cela encombrants et fo pouvoir les accrocher sur le plafond si qqn a une autre idee (pliable etc) ?

Je vais au Laos/Cambodge /Vietnam très bientôt, et je me suis fait vacciner pour l'encéphalite japonaise (indispensable, selon un médecin spécialiste en maladies tropicales de McGill), et j'ai mon traitement à la malarone à prendre pour une partie seulement du Vietnam (la partie un peu moins touristique), et défénitivement à prendre pour le Laos et le Cambodge. Je sais que la décision te reviens, mais ta santé pourrait en être affecté. Le père d'un ami a déjà passé proche de la mort à cause d'une piqûre... 😕
Oui, c'est pas donné non plus, mais renseigne toi auprès de tes assurances privées (si tu en as) car les miennes ont remboursés.

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:
