Je suis entrain de preparer pour mon futur voyage (en février), j'aimerais commencer à tout planifier mais je ne sais pas par ou commencer donc j'aurais besoin de vos conseils.
On souhaiterais rester 12 jours la bas. Les endroits qu'on souhaiterais visiter sont:
- New York
- Washington DC
- Los Angeles
- Grand Canyon
- Las Vegas
(+ d'autres suggestion, vu qu'on ne connait vraiment pas trop la bas.)
Je sais que ca risque d'etre short au niveau temps, et pour tout organiser j'aurais besoin de savoir combien de temps je devrais rester à chacune de ces destination?
Genre est ce que c'est plus sage de faire:
1er jour -Nice - Los Angeles
2e et 3e jour - Rester à LA
4e jour LA à Las Vegas et y passer la nuit
5e jour Las Vegas - Grand Canyon - Las Vegas
6e jour Départ pour New York
7e au 10e jour rester à NY
11e jour new york - Washington - New York
12e jour new York - Nice

Aprés est ce qu'il y a des excursions sur place ?
Pour faire un tour en helico au grand canyon il faut bien réserver à l'avance ?
Selon moi, vous pouvez couper 1 jour à LA. Il y a des tours organisés entre LA et LV en passant par le South Rim du Grand Canyon, un voyage de 3 jours, ce en autobus.
Attention, les prix suggérés sont pour 3 ou 4 personnes dans la chambre donc il faut ajuster.
New York, 4 ou 5 jours c'est bien mais vous pouvez ajouter une journée à Washington car il y a beaucoup à visiter.
Je trouve ça très hasardeux, vous serez épuisés et au final vous aurez été partout sans vraiment profiter de nulle part. Il serait plus "sage" de ne faire qu'une seule côte à la fois.
Enfin si vous y tenez absolument, faites sauter une journée à L.A et la journée à Washington. L.A car cette ville n'est pas du tout tourist-friendly, elle ne se visite pas vraiment à la va vite mais se vit; Washington car c'est à 5h de NYC en bus, et car il y a beaucoup trop de choses à faire pour ne pas en ressortir totalement frustré après quelques heures sur place et quelques photos prises. Les Smithsonian méritent une demi journée chacun, tout comme le Capitole et la plupart des dizaines de musées qui jalonnent la ville. Et vous ne pourrez pas profiter de Georgetown et Dupont Circle, les coeurs de l'ambiance de la ville.
Vous aurez déjà ainsi un voyage moins fatiguant, et pourrez bien mieux profiter du magnifique pays de nos amis américains 🙂

Mais ma copine insiste à faire les 2 :s
Donc j'essaie de faire en sorte d'organiser ce voyage au mieux pour qu'on perde le moins de temps possible et de profitez au mieux notre voyage (comme tout le monde quoi ;) )
Sinon pour les Vol vous pensez quelle est la meilleure solution? Commander un billet à multiple destination
ou commander les billet aller retour et voir sur place pour les vol interne ?
Aussi j'ai regardé un peu les sites pour les tours en helico pour visiter le grand canyon, à environ 200€ par personne oO. Ca fait trés mal.
Est ce que ca vaut le cout ? En meme temps je sais que c'est a faire au moins une fois dans la vie mais bon .... C'est le seul tarif ?
Si ta copine veux faire absolument les deux côtes, vous devriez restez au moins 5 jours de plus MINIMUM, car sinon c'est beaucoup trop de villes en peu de temps, et à la fin vous aurez presque rien vues et vous serez épuisez...
En ce moment British Airways a des promos de folie pour les USA sur janvier février, de l'ordre de 330€ A/R pour la côte ouest (voir sur easyvols.fr).
Donc si une offre de ce genre se présente, il sera surement plus avantageux de prendre un A/R pour NYC, et de là un autre A/R avec une low cost pour L.A ou pour Vegas, en s'y prenant à l'avance tu peux t'en sortir pour 250$ par personne, voir moins.
Etant étudiant, ayant donc toute la vie devant moins et surtout très peu de sous dans mon portefeuille, j'avais décidé de pas faire l'hélico (enfin j'ai pas trop eu le choix) mais je regrette pas trop, j'en ai déjà pris plein la vue en faisant une simple excursion en bus 3 fois moins chère; j'espère faire l'hélico un jour, sinon tant pis, voir le grand canyon depuis la south rim a déjà été une expérience grandiose!
Donc ne t'en embarrasse pas si tu comptes revenir un jour, sinon ben c'est sûr que ça rendrait ton voyage encore plus spécial, surtout si c'est en amoureux 🙂

J'ai regardé les prix c'est vrai que c'est pas cher New york / Nice et prends un autre vol NY-Los Angeles.
Mais est ce que c'est faisable le meme jour le transfer ?

Je fais Nice - NY et NY - LA (Est ce que c'est le meme aeroport ?)

puis LA - NY

Enfin NY- Nice
Ca me revient pas trop cher, donc il faut savoir si c'est faisable comme ca et je pense que je perds moins de temps.
Tout d'abord pour te répondre, un grand OUI, c'est faisable, très fatiguant mais faisable 🙂
Alors en gros si c'est le même aéroport, laisse un intervalle de 5-6h entre les 2 vols, au delà c'est vraiment improbable que ton avion ait un retard de plus de 3-4h, donc tu attendras juste pour rien et prendra donc du temps.
Si tu peux arriver sur NY vers 13h (et British Airways a un vol comme ça) et repartir sur L.A direct, prends ton vol vers 18-19h, tu seras à L.A certes assez tard, vers 21h, mais à temps pour passer une bonne nuit, encaisser les 9h de décalage horaire et les 8+5 heures de vol et être prêt pour le lendemain.
Pour l'aéroport, pour toutes les compagnies venant d'Europe, à 95% c'est New York JFK, comme Jet Blue. Si tu réserve Continental Airlines ce sera sur Newark, sinon normalement JFK mais vérifie quand même, British Airways a un vol par jour sur Newark contre une dizaine sur JFK.
Donc pour le NY-LA tu as tout intérêt à réserver à partir de JFK, mais ce sera pas un gros problème car parmi les autres aéroports, La Guardia sert surtout aux court-courriers et Newark à Continental Airlines pour les vols coast to coast (même si ce dernier est gigantesque). A priori ce sera JFK pour les 2, vérifie bien tout de même. Jet Blue, la compagnie dont je t'ai parlé, est basée aussi à JFK, Terminal 5.
Si tu réserve un autre aéroport pour repartir sur LA, tu perds beaucoup en terme de faisabilité OU de rentabilité financière, car il te faudra prendre un taxi, certes correct pour La Guardia mais hors de prix pour Newark, ou sortir de l'aéroport, passer par le subway et Manhattan (ligne A pendant une bonne heure), puis prendre un bus spécial à Grand Central, sur la 42e Rue, ou le train express, et dans tous les cas ce sera le parcours du combattant et compte minimum 3h de plus que les 5-6h à déjà prévoir.

J'imagine que le Nice-NY c'est le vol direct sur Delta. Il arrive au T3 a JFK. De nombreux vols Delta vers LAX partent de ce terminal (ou du T2, ils sont connectés coté air).
Mais il y a des vols vers LA depuis les autres terminaux aussi, sur d'autres compagnies, et aussi au depart de La Guardia (LGA) et de Newark (EWR). Donc faut voir les prix...
Et rien ne t'empeche de choisir un autre itineraire a l'aller (un aller sur Air France via paris peut tres bien etre combiné avec un retour JFK-NCE sur Delta car ils ont des accords de Code Share)

Voila pour moins de 600€, pour le prix c'est plus que raisonnable mais est ce que c'est pas trop short pour la corrspondance de NY à LA ? que 4heures pour récuperer les baguages?
Delta Air Lines est une compagnie serieuse. Je la prends tres regulieremnt sur les vols interieurs et occasionellement en international (vers l'Europe ou vers la Chine, y compris 2 fois Nice-NY). Ce n'est pas luxueux, les repas sont moins bons que sur Air france mais ça reste tres correct. Petit a petit ils equipent leurs 767 d'ecrans individuels. Bref quand j'ai le choix je privilegie AF mais je n'ai pas a me plaindre de Delta.
En vols interieurs aux US, Delta et United sont assez comparables.
Les horaires des vols sont normalement affichés en heure locale (je ne sais pas dans le cas spedcific de Govoyage). Il y a 3 heures de decalage entre NY et LA, et 6 heures entre la France et NY (sauf pour quelques semaines lors des changements ete/hiver qui ne coincident pas).
Un vol France-NY prends generalement entre 7 et 9 heures suivant le point de depart et le type d'avion. Pour NY-LA, faut compter entre 5 et 7 heures, aussi suivant le type d'avion.
Si vous arrivez de Nice sur Delta et continuez sur United, je ne sais pas si c'est possible d'avoir tout ça sur le meme billet... dans le cas contraire, c'est un peu riqué car en cas de retard sur le premier vol, vous louperez le 2nd, sans aucun recours sinon la bonne volonté de United et c'est pas gagné... donc si NY est simplement une correspondance, vous avez tout interet a reserver les vols ensemble sur la meme compagnie ou sur des compagnies partenaires.
sinon pour le coté pratique... Delta a son propre terminal et United a le sien aussi. Mais avec l'AirTrain c'est facile de passer de l'un a l'autre. Faut simplement prevoir un peu de temps pour le trajet (15-20 min), et pour enregistrer et repasser la securité au terminal United.
Un petit changement pour notre voyage qui risque de tout compliquer (deja que c'etait pas simple :s )
Vu que je ne souhaite pas louer une voiture la bas (je suis pas un as du volant je ne veux pas gacher mon voyage la bas ;) ) Donc pour Los Angeles ca risque d'etre un peu compromi :s.
De plus, part universal studio et Hollywood je sais pas quoi d'autres je pourrai faire ( à part le chinatown la bas, ma copine me dit que c'est pas pareil que les autres, mais bon on y va pas pour chinatown en meme temps ^^ )
Donc on hesite d'aller à San Francisco à la place, est ce que ca vaut le coup vu qu'on va à NY juste aprés, c'est un peu prés pareil non ?

Je sais qu'il y a des amoureux (à juste titre) de San Francisco ici, mais en février, et surtout pour aller à Las Vegas après... je resterais sur l'idée première de Los Angeles... Si vous aviez 5 jours à consacrer à San Francisco, vous pourriez faire 2 jours à LA, puis le Grand Canyon en voiture (ça réglerait votre problème d'hélico dans un autre topic), remonter à Las Vegas et de là, aller à New York. Si vous tenez pas à Las Vegas, vous pourriez aussi repartir de Phoenix.

Ce n'est pas une question de "sympathique" ou pas😉
Il s'agit de 2 villes radicalement différentes, mais Los Angeles a également son charme, et il y a très certainement aussi pas mal de choses à visiter pour peu qu'on prenne le temps...En dépit des avis de VF, moi j'ai préféré LA (mais c'est un avis tout à fait perso): ville beaucoup plus étendue et "aérée" que SF(où tout est concentré)
Si tu as ton permis et plus de 25 ans, je te conseille tout de même de louer une voiture (beaucoup plus pratique pour se déplacer, et surtout pour aller au Grand Canyon)
Concernant tes tarifs pour l'hélico, tu as un premier prix à environ 100€ par personne (tour d'une demi-heure): je te conseille vraiment de le faire: c'est époustouflant!

Japantown est assez loin de tout. Moi, je trouve Union Square plus pratique.

tu veux visiter Paris et les Iles Grecques en 12 jours mais aussi un petit saut à Rome et si possible Pompeï .
il faut être raisonnable ou alors attendez vous à de la fatigue et de la frustration de ne faire que survoler vos destinations.

3 jours San Franciso
2 ou 3 jours Las Vegas
3 ou 4 jours à New York.
soit 9 jours de visite et 2 jours de trajet.

Ouh je sens le stress la! lol Bon pour le trajet moi je peux rien te dire. Pour NY, 3 jours peut suffir pour survoler la ville. Après, ca parait court pour vivre l'ambiance de cette ville de malade! Je l'adore!
En tout cas, à NY, je peux te conseiller de prendre le ferry qui passe devant la statue au lieu de prendre celui qui s'arrete sur l'ile de la statue! Tu perdras moins de temps. Ensuite , une visite en haut de l'empire state building est obligatoire! Un conseil, vas y en fin d'aprem début de soirée, comme ca tu verras la ville de jour et le coucher de soleil ainsi que la nuit qui est absolument différente! Un 'ti tour à Central Park, à Times Square et le tour est joué! Si ta copine et toi aimez bien les quartiers chinoirs, fais celui de NY que j'aime bien aussi. Pleins de bonnes affaires, ainsi qu'au century 21, magasin en face du ground zéro.
Concernant Las Vegas, a part le Strip, y a rien à faire je pense. Donc un tour des casinos, de toutes les miniatures et le tour est joué!
San Fransisco je connais pas encore.
Et pour le Grand Canyon, le tour en hélico, tu peux t'en passer je pense, t'inquiete que vous en aurez deja plein les yeux en le voyant des nombreux points de vue que t'auras!
Visiter les deux côtes en 12 jours c’est tout un défi. Personnellement, je suis du même avis que Cunningham, vous ne profiterez pas vraiment de votre voyage. Cela dit, je vous propose quand même l’itinéraire suivant :
Jours 1, 2 et 3 - Arrivez à New York le plus tôt possible. Bien qu’ils soient généralement plus dispendieux, privilégiez les hôtels à Manhattan (vous n’aurez pas à prendre le train/métro ou le taxi pour vous rendre à Brooklyn ou au New Jersey). Pensez déjà à quelques attractions qui vous intéressent. Par exemple, vous pourriez visiter le sud de l’île la première journée, visiter Times Square, Central Park et les environs la deuxième journée, et visiter quelques musées la troisième journée.
Petit conseil: Ne perdez pas votre temps à l'Empire State Building; allez plutôt au Top of the Rock. La vue est mille fois plus belle (d'un côté vous avez l'Empire State Building, de l'autre, il y a Central Park), l'entrée est moins dispendieuse, et il y a beaucoup moins de gens. J'ai visité ces deux édifices, et le Top of the Rock m'a agréablement surpris!
Jours 4 et 5 - Prenez le train tôt le matin vers Washington. Cela coûte 50$/billet (avec Amtrak). Il y a souvent des rabais une fois par semaine (les mercredis, je crois) et vous pourriez bien sauver quelques dollars. Le trajet dure trois heures. Vous serez à Washington en avant-midi, idéal pour visiter un ou deux musées (gratuits!). La deuxième journée, visiter les monuments de Washington (ne perdez pas votre temps dans les musées). Vous aurez assez d’une journée pour tout voir.
Jour 6 - Prenez l’avion tôt le matin vers Las Vegas. Il y a deux aéroports dans la région de Washington. Vous arriverez assez tôt à Las Vegas. Partez aussitôt voir le Grand Canyon. Vous pourrez revenir à Las Vegas en soirée et visiter quelques casinos.
Jour 7 - Visiter Las Vegas en matinée. Prenez ensuite l’autobus vers Los Angeles. Je connais ni la durée du trajet, ni les tarifs, ni les transporteurs effectuant la liaison entre ces villes (je n’ai jamais été à Las Vegas).
Jours 8 et 9 - Visitez Los Angeles. Pour tous voir, plusieurs compagnies offrent les Hop-On, Hop-Off Tour au coût d’environ 30$ et plus. Cela permet de voir le centre-ville, Hollywood et les plages (idéal si vous n’avez pas de voiture).
Jours 10 et 11 - Prenez l’avion tôt le matin vers San Francisco. Cela coûte environ 70$/billet et le trajet dure environ une heure. Vous devrez ensuite prendre un train (environ 5$/billet) pour vous rendre dans la ville. Le trajet dure moins d'une heure. Vous arriverez donc en fin d’avant-midi. Privilégiez les hôtels situés entre Union Square et Fisherman’s Wharf car ils sont plus près des attractions.
Jour 12 - Visitiez San Francisco en matinée. Retournez ensuite à l’aéroport et partez le soir en avion pour Nice.
Voilà! Ce ne sont que des idées. Par exemple, vous pourriez plutôt faire New York - Washington - San Fransisco - Los Angeles - Las Vegas - Nice. Vous pourriez aussi inverser le trajet et plutôt débuter à San Francisco. Vous pourriez aussi laisser tomber Washington, etc.

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

We’ll be alternating between house swaps, motels, and campgrounds. I’ve booked all the accommodations (except the campground at Bryce since sunset bookings open only 14 days in advance) and the first activities, as well as the most touristy ones.

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

We’d like to walk to Eagle Falls and then Eagle Lake. I’ve spotted two parking lots that seem close to each other and give access to the trailhead. Where and how do we pay for entry to Emerald Bay State Park and Inspiration Point?
**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
