Je prévois de partir fin Juillet avec mon amie en Corse avec mon scooter 250cc pour une semaine.
Nous aimerions faire le Sud (Ajaccio et ses environs), cependant j'ai quelques questions:
Celà suffit-il en une semaine ?
Y a-t-il un itinéraire conseillé ?
N'y a-t-il pas des chemins de terre (impossible en scooter) ?
Pour les hotels, y en a-t-il beaucoup dans la région ?
Nous prévoyons de partir sans réserver, avec un itinéraire plus ou moins précis, aucun matériel de camping si ce n'est la carte bleue pour payer une chambre d'hotel (une différente chaque soir) donc essayer de trouver une chambre vers 17-18h grand max et éviter qu'on se retrouve au milieu de nulle part pour la soirée.
Tu n'as pas l'air bien informé sur la Corse !
Ajaccio n'est pas au sud mais à l'ouest. Il y a des chemins de terre comme des grandes routes comme sur le continent mais pas d'autoroutes (sauf un semblant au sud de Bastia). Il y a des hôtels dans la région mais moins que dans les grandes villes de France et leurs banlieues. Etc.
Vous allez galérer pour trouver une location par jour, surtout en haute saison ! Tu devrais revoir ton projet. Comme par exemple louer une semaine dans un seul endroit et rayonner dans la région : la Balagne, le cap Corse, Porto-Vecchio...

Je comptais arriver à Ajaccio et faire tout le sud, descendre ensuite (faire une boucle), je me suis mal exprimé désolé. 😐
Quel coin me conseillerais-tu pour rouler (de préférence en bord de mer) durant une semaine environ ? L'Est de l'île en réservant les hotels à l'avance ?
L'idéal serait de faire une centaine de km par jour, s'arrêter sur certaines plages, puis continuer et ainsi de suite.

Faire une boucle vers le sud t'oblige à passer par le centre mais c'est tout à fait faisable et fin juillet, c'est idéal en montagne.
Pour l'hébergement, je serais plus inquiet si c'est un par jour (à moins, avec chance dans les disponibilités d'avoir un budget aisé) : en juillet, les résas sont proposée à la semaine du samedi au samedi pour la majorité des loueurs (hôtels, chambres d'hôte...).

J'aimerais éviter les chemins de terre, pour privilégier les routes de bord de mer.
Je vais me renseigner, pour les hôtels (ou camping / bungalow) il serait bien de dormir 2 nuits dans le même (en réservant à l'avance, donc suivre un itinéraire précis).
La côte Est a l'air belle, ou alors le Nord Ouest (Ile Rousse, Calvi etc), je suis un peu perdu à vrai dire...😎
EDIT: J'ai regardé, il serait peut-être sympa de faire Calvi-Ile Rousse-St Florent-Corte-Pancheraccia-Aleria puis en bas jusqu'à Porto Vecchio, Bonifacio et monter jusqu'à Ajaccio
Google Maps prévoit 6h, sur 7 jours avec de nombreux arrêts ça doit être faisable, qu'en pensez-vous ?
Les routes en terre existaient il y a longtemps. Il y en a cependant encore mais elles sont classées en chemins forestiers, bien que ces derniers soient parfois revêtues de macadam. Si tu connais les Pyrénées ou les Alpes, c'est pareil avec les mêmes signalisations routières (ou a en plus des panneaux en braille réalisés à coups de chevrotines).
Il ne faut pas imaginer que l'île est en retard par rapport au continent. Par exemple on a
- des grandes surfaces,
- des hôpitaux avec des salles d'opération,
- des lycées,
- piscines (pas encore de bassins olympiques),
- des routes 3 voies (mais pas de réel autoroute sauf à Furiani).
- des radars fixes et la gendarmerie,
- des ventes aux enchères,
- des marchands de bonbon,
- des postes à essence sans pompe à bras.
On n'a pas de centrale nucléaire mais le nuage de Tchernobyl a touché l'est de la Corse plus que d'autres régions sur le continent ; le nuage du Japon a touché la même région hier (ça va vite de faire le tour du monde) avec les pluies torrentielles que nous avons eues.
Pour ces inondations, on est habitué, comme pour les vents violents (plus de 200 km/h relevé à la pointe du Cap Corse il y a qq années).
Parfois a neige bloque les cols mais pas en été ; on a la seule station de montagne d'Europe (à Ghisoni) où on peut faire du ski tout en regardant la mer (tout en regardant devant soi aussi)...
Les cigarettes sont moins chères mais tout aussi néfastes pour la santé, l'essence plus chère et la vie globalement plus chère qu'en France.
Plus sérieusement, bien que ce qui précède soit réel :
Pour en revenir à l'état des routes du bord de mer, pas de pb (sauf bien sûr les chemins).
La partie est (là où j'habite) n'est belle que pour qui sait trouver des plages désertiques : à condition d'avoir un véhicule qui passe sur des chemins. Mais elle n'est réellement belle qu'à partir de Solenzara. Entre Bastia et Solenzara : que du sable, des villages de vacances, un port (Taverna).
Je te conseille la Balagne et le haut-Nebbio (le nord-ouest) qui est, à mon avis, la région la plus représentative de la Corse : les villes côtières (mm si elles sont très touristiques), l'intérieur avec des villages magnifiques et des randos pour tous niveaux, les calanches de Piana... Et le tour du Cap Corse faisable en un jour mais plus sympa en deux.
6h de route par jour, c'est très bien. Avec des arrêts. Et le scooter est généralement plus confortable pour les fondements.
Il existe un guide papier sur la Corse à moto (édition Albiana à Ajaccio).
On déconseille souvent de découvrir la Corse au pas de coUrse mais pianu-pianu. Le temps de ressentir l'ambiance, de sentir les odeurs, de rencontrer des gens d'ici, de déguster le temps qui passe.

tres bonne idee de faire la corse en scooter, c est un super moyen de bouger sur l ile et oui ca sera tout a fait jouable avec les routes locales.
par contre, tres tres mauvaise idee de partir fin juillet sans reserver et en pensant dormir a l hotel - tout sera complet et tu risques de passer ta journee au tel pour tenter de te loger. Trois options donc: prepare toi a camper (les campings sont plus flexibles), reserve des hotels en avance (au moins un jour sur deux histoire d assurer en restant flexible, meme si tu auras du mal a trouver des chambres a la journee) ou enfin, pense a partir en septembre ou juin, il y a deux fois moins de monde et c est bcp plus flexible en term de logement.

Je vais en effet essayer de reserver avant, 1 nuit par hotel si possible, avec un itinéraire précis (peut-être que je prendrai le GPS, ou alors TomTom iPhone me servira).

bonsoir, la corse en scooter c'est un des moyens les plus sympa pour la découvrir. Vous alle vous régaler. Je l'ai faite plusieurs fois et de diférentes manières, c'est en scooter que je préfère.
Je te propose le programme suivant, même si tout est à faire en corse.
Tu remontes vers le Nord à partir d'Ajaccio jusqu'à Porto ensuite tu bifurque vers Evisa et Calacuccia tu fais toute la vallée jusqu'à Ponteleccia. Tu peux faire un crochet dans la vallée de l'Asco, c'est un cul de sac mais c'est aussi trés beau. Et tu reviens tranquillement à Ajaccio en passant par la Balagne, tu prends donc la direction de Belgodère et tu redescends ou sur l'ile rousse ou sur Calvi pour revenir pae le bord de mer jusqu' Ajaccio. C'est une super boucle

Salut. La Corse peux se fait très bien en scooter. À partir D'Ajacio c'est vers le Nord en direction de Porto, en passant par les Calanques de Piana que la route est la plus extraordinaire. De Porto vers Calvi est aussi une route à couper le soufle. L'intérêt pour le sud se limite plus pour Bonifacio. Porto Vecchio, Propriano de belles petites villes pour arrêter coucher, dîner, souper, prendre une petite bière en passant. De toute façon il n'y à rien de pas beau en Corse côté nature. Les plus belle route sont Vers le Nord, comme mentionné au début. Toute la côte, Île Rousse , St.-Florent allé jusqu'à la Côte Corse au Nord vaut le voyage à lui seul. Pour les Hôtels je pense que vous aurez des problèmes si vous ne réservez pas avant de partir. Sur internet ça se fait bien. Bon voyage.

Je te conseil le mois de juin car les jours sont plus longs.
Si t es seul sur le scooter un gros to-case 48 litres et un sac à dos sont suffisants. On peut ajouter un sac entre le guidon et la selle.
Pour les chèques vacances ils ne sont pas acceptés par la majorité. Il faut voir sur leurs sites internet pour le savoir ou les appeler.
Pour les ferries, il faut systématiquement faire des comparatifs entre les compagnies en fonction des dates et des ports de départ et d'arrivée. Il y a souvent des promotions.

I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?

I just realized I’ve been registered on VoyageForum since... March 28, 2012 😊. Yet, I’ve barely participated until now.
August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. If I’m finally taking the time to write, it’s mostly because after five years on the road, I thought our experience might be useful to other travelers.

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.

I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
Here’s the idea:
Day 1 (departure at noon): Marrakech - Tizi n Test - Tafingoult (165 km - 4h15)
Day 2: Tafingoult - Amzarkou - Telouet (200 km - 4h34)
Day 3: Telouet - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Boumalne (200 km - 3h30) (+ Vallée des Roses maybe)
Day 4: Boumalne - Dades Gorges - Agoudal - Todra Gorges - Tinghir - Goulmima (291 km - 6h)
Day 5: Goulmima - Midelt - Cirque Jaffar - Agoudim (280 km - 4h45)
Day 6: Agoudim - Imilchil - Aghbala - El Ksiba (280 km - 4h45)
Day 7: El Ksiba - La Cathédrale - Zaouiat Ahansal (212 km - 4h20)
Day 8: Ahansal - Ouzoud Waterfalls via R 302 (188 km - 4h22)
Day 9: Ouzoud - Marrakech (160 km - 2h43)

We haven’t booked any hotels—is that a problem? We were thinking of deciding day by day based on our progress.
Can we take our helmets with us in the cabin, or should we pack them in the checked luggage surrounded by clothes to avoid damage?
