A vrai dire, je n'ai pas beaucoup cherché non plus car je n'ai qu'un temps limité à consacrer à la préparation du voyage. J'ai fait le strict minimum : vaccination contre la fièvre jaune, l'hépatite A et la diphtérie-tétanos.
Ah oui, et si quelqu'un pouvait m'envoyer l'adresse de cette fameuse pharmacie parisienne où la Malarone se vend un peu moins cher qu'ailleurs, je lui en serai très reconnaissante !

je suis partie l'année dernière de nombreuses fois en guyane dont une de 1 mois et demi. Je pense pouvoir te donner quelques infos si tu en a encore besoin. En tout cas, malgrè le climat qui peut paraitre assez dur (chaud et trés humide) c'est un pays que j'ai adoré.
Je pars en Guyane le 26 octobre05 jusqu'au 11 novembre. Bons plans: il y en a toujours!

La pharmacie Souied et Cie, 121 avenue de Saint-Ouen à Paris-XVIIème vend les boîtes de 12 comprimés de Malarone à 35€.
Il s'agit du laboratoire ordinaire GlaxoSmithKline (allemend), donc ce n'est pas de la contrefaçon pour les méfiants!
bon à mon avis pour ton voyage c'est trop tard mais pour la prochainne fois...
mais tu peux trouver de la malarone à 39€
mais aussi pleins de promos comme les insect ecran à prix tres bas et en plus si tu es prend plusieurs ils y a des remises complementaire!

trop bien ta pharma à 29€ ^^ mais comme je suis pas de Paris...et que j'aime pas allé en voiture à Paris...je prefere allé à ma pharmacie surtout que quand j'y vais je fais le plein...enfin pas que de malarone, mais aussi du lait infantile pour mon bb et là par contre meme à Paris ils sont pas moins cher, des produits de beautés pour ma petite femme et bien sur quand je voyage de la malarone la moins cher de banlieu et les insects ecran tropiques grand modele à 5, 50 avec leur promos des cremes solaires, du phytosolaire pour preparer le bronzage...enfin bref la liste est longue donc vive la voiture pour transporter tout çà, c'est pour çà que je fuis paris! et que je vais à la pharmacie centrale de chilly mazarin place de la liberation tout prés de la sortie de l'A6 pour les banlieusards c'est une aubaine!

Sur internet j'ai trouvé plusieurs pharmacie aux alentour de place monge...
En sortant du métro Monge elle est juste de l'autre côté de la rue. Elle fait le coin entre le place et la rue Monge. Il y a tjrs beaucoup de monde à l'intérieur.
Je me souviens pas trop de l adresse mais sur chilly mazarin dans l'essonne il y a une pharmacie qui fait de la malarone autrour de 35€, il me semble que c'est la pharmacie centrale.

lorsqu on m a annoncé l prix de la malarone dans ma pharmacie habituelle, g vite rechercher une pharmacie qui faisait des prix interessant.
Heureusement pour moi, la grande pharmacie a la sortie du metro fort d aubervilliers (ligne7) vend la boite de malarone adulte 12cp à 35.95 et l enfant a 14.60. le lariam et la savarine n'est pas du tout cher non plus pour 38 et 19 euros.
Par contre inutile d y aller sans ordonnance d'un medecin: le pharmacien m' a fait retourner chez moi pour la chercher

Pour ceux qui habitent dans le coin, je connais une pharmacie dans l'Essonne, où la boîte de Malarone est à ~30 €.
L'adresse est 125 avenue de la République à Montgeron, près du marché.

effectivement je suis partie plusieurs fois en guyane. Je n'ai jamais pris de traitement pour le palu, mais tout dépend de l'endroit ou tu vas, moi je n'ai passé que trois jours en forêt. en revanche il faut te badigeonner plusieurs fois par jour d'anti-moustique, ce qui n'empechera pas quelques piqures mais les limitera. Après une ou deux semaines, je me souviens que je me faisais moins piquer, mais il faut donc surtout se proteger de ça.
je vis en Guyane, donc pour nous hors de question de prendre le malarone en continue.
je vais te dire ce que je dis a mes amis qui viennent :
il y a des cas de palu : oui cependant sur la cote ils sont rares.
si tu vas en foret, les cas sont plus frequents, mais ils faut aller plusieurs jours en foret, et une bonne protection contre les moustiques peut eviter ce genre de choses.
pour info, moi ca fait 7 ans que je suis ici, plusieurs ballades et plusieurs nuits en foret.
il faut savoir que le malarone n'est pas un médicament anodin, sur le nombres de gens qui viennent me voir, je dirai que une sur trois est obligée d'arreter le traitement au bout d'une semaine pour divers desagréments (migraines violentes, vomissements)
ce medicament coute cher !!!!!
maintenant, libre a chacun de prendre sa responsabilité, je ne dirai jamais a une personne qui vient me voir et m'en parle "non n'en prend pas ", il suffit d'un cas dans mes relations pour qu'on dise que c'est de ma faute.
par contre si on me dit "toi tu ferais quoi ?" je repondrai "moi je n'en prendrai pas"
mais c'est un choix personnel, je ne veux pas influencer, je ne fais que parler de mon experience.
la protection reste la meilleure facon d'eviter tous problemes dus aux moustiques, il faut savoir que vous avez plus de "chance" d'attraper la dengue, pour laquelle il n'existe aucune prevention, sauf protection efficace contre les moustiques.

Je vis en Guyane et j'ai travaillé plusieurs années aux urgences de Cayenne en tant qu'infirmière et je peux te dire que la plupart des personnes qui ont le palu sont des personnes qui vivent en forêt où qui y séjournent plusieurs jours voire semaines! J'ai déja fait de la randonnée de plusieurs jours en foret (St Elie, Saul, ...) et je n'ai jamais attrappé le palu sans jamais prendre de traitement. La Malarone est un traitement puissant pour se protéger du palu et comme tous produits actifs il a ces effets secondaires (vomissements, cephalées, diarrhées, ulceres, ...) Mais autant que n'importe quels médicaments. Le problème que certaines personnes oublient c'est que les moustiques s'habituent tres bien et tres vite aux traitements et aux ecrans repulsifs. Le meilleur moyen de ne pas attrapper le palu ou plus facilement la dengue c'est de ne pas se faire piquer!!! Dormir sous moustiquaire se mettre de l'anti moustique special tropical (les produits pour la metropole ne fonctionnent pas! mettre de la citronnelle (ou en boire en infusion c'est tres bon en plus!)
Tu fais ce que tu veux pour la malarone où ce que te dit ton medecin, si tu as un doute demande conseil dans les centres de maladies tropicales en métropole (généralement dans les CHU).
Mais juste un conseil essaye de ne pas te faire piquer car il y a plus de dengue que de palu surtout en ce moment et même si la dengue n'est pas trop grave pour un adulte en bonne santé tu restes une semaine alitée avec 41°de fievre à ne manger que du bouillon et encore en te forçant (c'est mon experience qui te dis ça!)
En tout cas passe de bonnes vacances et visite le plus possible les fleuves, les iles et la foret c'est magnifique!

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

I think I can get authorization from my doctor to travel for 6 months with the treatment—is that correct? After those 6 months, is it possible (instead of bothering a relative to send the medication) to see a foreign doctor to get another 6-month travel authorization? How does it work at the airport? Do I need just one medication transport authorization, or do I have to request a new one in each country (once the treatment runs out) for both the flight and a DCI? We, as parents, have been through it in Egypt with pretty bad cases, but we’d really like to avoid that for our daughter. For several years now, increased aggression has been observed in Cape fur seals.

The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.
Preventive vaccination (of the animals) is being considered.

Rabies affects all mammals.
Once symptoms appear—sometimes weeks or even months later—death is inevitable.
It’s the bite that transmits the disease.
There are so-called "furious" forms with aggression, but also forms without aggression.
In case of a bite, in addition to standard wound care, tetanus prevention… rabies prevention is essential.
