Mon copain et moi, souhaitons partir quelques mois à Londres pour perfectionner notre anglais comme pas mal de personnes.
J'écris un message pour raconter mon expérience avec First Language Europe (agence qui te trouve un logement en coloc ou appt + (tout dépend de la formule choisi) un emploi, des cours etc..... Pour le moment ce n'est que le début de mon expérience mais bien entendu je vous tiens au courant des suites ....
Pour commencer, je me suis inscrite sur le site, dés le lendemain Mélanie une personne de l'agence me contacte.
(Franchement Super ils m’ont contacté directement.)
Mélanie, super correcte, aimable, professionnel, m'a donnée toutes les infos sur l'agence. Je suis super intéressée car ils te trouvent un logement basé sur ton budget.
Le plus important pour moi, c'est d'avoir un logement en zone 1, avec mon budget, Mélanie me répond AUCUN PROBLEME, avec 2500euros de budget chacun avec mon copain on pouvait avoir en zone 1. (Il faut compter environs 170 livres environs par semaine pour zone 1)

Ok parfait, je m’inscris. Je paie 191.76 livre pour mon copain et moi. (À régler lors de l’inscription + 85 livres à l’arrivée).
Mélanie me demande un C.V, copie Passeport ou C.I et 2 photos.
Déjà là je me demande pourquoi ils veulent des photos (je suis d'origine magrébine et mon copain antillais) bref, je lui envoie. Je lui donne ma date d'arrivée sur Londres qui est le 11 novembre 2008 (dans 2 semaines)
Tout est OK elle va me trouver pour sur un logement pour cette date en zone 1 limite zone 2. Là je lui dis que je veux absolument zone 1, elle me garantit presque que j'aurais zone 1 avec mon budget mais me le certifie pas.
OK, je lui fais confiance je pense qu'elle pourra me trouver zone 1. (Sur leur site internet, il y à des annonces mise à jour sur les logements disponible.)
Regarde sur les annonces, il y en à deux qui correspondent à mes souhaits. Holborn zone 1 chambre double, j'en parle à Mélanie, le propriétaire n'accepte pas les couples. Ok.
La deuxième annonce "Grande chambre double, POUR 2 PERSONNES, dispo maintenant. J’en parle à Mélanie qui me dit que je loyer pour couple, la propriétaire en veut 200livres par semaine. Ok pas de soucis je suis preneuse. Mélanie doit me tenir au courant dans la journée le temps de voir avec la propriétaire.
Aucun appel dans la journée (je comprends il doit y avoir beaucoup de boulot, moi même j'ai travaillée en relation client et pas eu le temps de rappeler le jour même bref...), le lendemain donc aujourd'hui, j'appel Mélanie, qui me dit que la propriétaire n'accepte pas les couples.
Franchement honnêtement je le sentais...
Je lui dis que dans l'annonce il y à mentionné pour 2. Oui mais c'est à cause de la date d'arrivée, la propriétaire souhaite louer maintenant et ne veut pas attendre le 12.
??? Est ce vraiment cette cause??? J’espère vraiment que ce n’est pas à cause de nos origines. Je ne connais pas Londres, ni leurs mentalités mais j'ai entendu que du bien d'eux...
Voila, Mélanie me rassure que j'aurais un logement à mon arrivée, qu'elle se mettrait à fond sur mes demandes pour la zone 1, mais doit me tenir au courant début de semaine prochaine.

Tout ce que j'espère c'est qu'ils me trouveront un logement en zone 1 comme me l'avait presque certifié lors de l'inscription Mélanie. Puisque c'est basé sur le budget, il devrait ne pas avoir de soucis.
J’espère tous savoir avant mon départ et pas arrivée à Londres et être obligée de prendre en zone 2.

Mélanie ou pas Mélanie, je déconseillerais de recourir aux agences de placement en Angleterre car elles sont de peu d'utilité. Mieux vaux se débrouiller.
Vous trouverez de nombreuses annonces sur les magazines en ligne et gratuits comme : www.Gumtree.com et www.tntmagazine.com. Il existe également une agence gratuite de placement qui travaille par téléphone et qui liste des emplois en hôtellerie et restauration, plutôt dans les petites villes (bien meilleure option pour apprendre l’Anglais !) : Dee Cooper (+441764670001).
Sachez qu’en Angleterre les annonces pour emplois peu qualifié dans l'hôtellerie et restauration ou la vente par exemple, sont souvent disposées directement sur les devantures des établissements. Prenez votre courage à deux mains et entrez pour proposer vos services. Faites-moi confiance.
N’oubliez pas non plus les « job centers », bien plus performants à mon avis que notre ANPE française. Vous n’aurez pas besoin d’être inscrits comme demandeurs d’emplois ou même de rencontrer un conseiller car les recherches se font de manière indépendante sur des bornes à l’entrée des agences.
Concernant le logement, pourquoi ne pas rester quelques temps dans une auberge de jeunesse (mauvais traduction du "hostel" anglais)? Les magazines cités plus haut contiennent également beaucoup d'annonces de colocation.
Oubliez tous ces inutiles, ces bons à rien des agences de placement qui vous promettent monts et merveilles uniquement pour encaisser les cotisations.

Voila presque 2 semaines que je suis à Londres, franchement c'est génial...
Alors.. concernant l'agence FIRST LANGUAGE EUROPE pour commencer, l'agence ma contactée plusieurs fois pour me proposer un logement limite zone 2 mais je voulais vraiment pas etre loin du centre de londres.( ce n’est pas loin du centre mais bon je voulais etre au centre centre).
Bref, ils se sont donnés à fond dans l'agence pour que j'ai ce que je voulais et je l'est eu: HOLBORN zone 1 très très central et donc extrement bien situé.
bon par contre j'ai eu la confirmation la veille de mon départ, car il attendais la confirmation de la propriétaire.
franchement je conseil cette agence à tous ceux qui veulent partir en angleterre avec une agence fiable. N’hésitez pas à dire que vous venez de ma part : samira
pour le logement l'agence te trouve une chambre ou appt dans la zone que tu veux selon ton budget de départ et les dispo biensur.
pour les jobs "si tu prend cette formule", il t'envois passer des entretiens dans des restos, hotel.. mais ne garantisse pas l'emplois, à toi d'assurer.
Moi par exemple, j'ai eu 2 entretient mais mon niveaux d'anglais me permettais pas d'y travailler mais je baisse pas les bras.
Ha oui, concernant les logements ok c'est cher mais faut pas s'attendre à la grande classe. moi sa va j'ai une grande chambre, la cuisine est grande mais la salle de douche voila quoi. mais je suis tellement bien situé que je passe au dessus de ca.

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
