Nous partons à 2 avec chacun nos motos (BMW 800gs) du 20 septembre au 15 octobre.( Bateau Barcelone- Tanger).
Nous sommes à la recherche d'un itinéraire nous permettant de profiter des magnifiques paysages du Maroc ainsi que des routes et pistes fabuleuses.
J'ai bien trouvé sur des anciens post des indications mais je ne retrouve pas un itinériares qui passerait par : cirque de Jaffar, Midelt, Imlchil, les gorges du Dadès et les gorges du Todra.( pas vraiment dans l'ordre 😮)
La piste ne nous fait pas peur mais nous serons quand même bien chargé.( donc pa sde piste trop trialisante)
Est-il facile de trouver de l'essence sans plomb dans ces régions?
Quelqu'un pourrait il me dire également s'il fait vraiment froid la nuit (combien de°) ainsi que l'état des pistes à cette période de l'année.

145km séparent Larache de Meknès. Un petit crochet par Volubilis avant d'arriver à Meknès. Les ruines romaines les plus importantes du Maroc. 58km de Meknès à Azrou. Village berbère à 1200m d'altitude.En bordure d'une forêt de cèdres peuplée de singes.

16 avril 2009: Azrou -> Midelt
140km pour rallier Midelt par la N13. Une alternative intéressante est de prendre vers Khénifra par la montagne. Sortir d'Azrou par le sud-ouest et tourner à gauche à Tiouririne en suivant l'indication "Route touristique des Cèdres" jusqu'à Aïn-Leuh. Ensuite prendre vers le sud en direction de Khénifra. Bifurquer plus tard vers Oualegh pour rejoindre la N13 en direction de Midelt. Cette escapade devrait nous mener à Midelt au bout de 200km.
17 avril 2009: Midelt -> Ar-Rachidia -> Erfoud -> Rissani -> Merzouga
140km pour rallier Ar-Rachidia par la N13. Ne pas louper les Gorges du Ziz (repérer le tunnel du légionnaire). Ensuite continuer au sud-est pendant 23km pour rejoindre la Source bleue de Meski. Nouvelle bifurcation vers la droite, pour rejoindre Rissani après 76km, en passant par Erfoud. A partir de Rissani, une route mène à Merzouga, au pied de l'Erg Chebbi (+/- 40km).
On compte sur place au moins une soixantaine d'hébergements...
18 avril 2009: Merzouga -> Rissani -> Erfoud -> Tinejdad -> Tinerhir
On reprend le chemin à l'envers durant 60km jusqu'à Erfoud. Ensuite à gauche en direction de Tinejdad (90km). Continuer pour rejoindre Tinerhir après 72km..
Chez Aissa 14€ chambre double
Retour au Calme 18€ chambre double.

Visite des Gorges, parmi les plus belles du Sud marocain.

Visite de la vallée des roses le matin. Après midi, en route vers Ouarzazate.

21 avril 2009: La vallée du Drâa (Ouarzazate -> Zagora)
Une route goudronnée de 160km jusqu'à Zagora. Nombreuses palmeraies, ksour... Il faut passer au moins une nuit dans la palmeraie d'Amezrou à Zagora. Compter minimum 4 heures pour faire la route et surtout prendre le temps d'admirer.
Camping-auberge "prends ton temps", tentes et bungalows sommaires 4€ pp.
22 avril 2009: La vallée du Drâa (Zagora ->Ouarzazate) -> Tazenakht -> Taliouine
Environ 310km jusqu'à Taliouine. Essayer de parcourir la vallée à des heures différentes de l'aller. Tazenakht est un centre de tissage où on peut admirer les femmes au travail de tissage. Taliouine est réputée pour le safran.

23 avril 2009: Taroudant -> Tafraoute -> Oasis de Tortues
Environ 310km jusqu'à l'Oasis. Taroudant est une ville pittoresque protégée par de superbes remparts qui valent à eux seuls le déplacement. Tafraoute, dans la région des amandiers et des arganiers, est un site exceptionnel duquel on peut admirer le sommet du djebel Lekst (2359m) et celui de l'Adrar Mquorn (2344m).
24 avril 2009: Oasis de Tortues
Aujourd'hui, on fait une pause. Et si possible un petit saut jusqu'à la mer, en direction de la réserve naturelle de Massa avec un petit crochet par Tiznit.
25 avril 2009: Oasis de Tortues -> Tiznit -> Agadir -> Essaouira
45km jusqu'à Tiznit (que nous aurons déjà visité), ensuite 90km jusqu'à Agadir.
Agadir et salage, tout un programme.
De Agadir à Essaouira...
Une des plus belle partie de la route qui longe l'Atlantique. Ce parcours de 175km permet de faire connaissance avec les arganiers (attention aux pneus).
Imsouane: spot de surf.
Imsouane-Taferney: parcours superbe en corniche qui longe le littoral.
Cap Tafelney: belle vue et petite gargotte en bord de plage.
Essaouira, il parrait qu'il faut aller manger des sardines près du port de pêche...
26 avril 2009: Essaouira -> Marrakech
165km jusqu'à Marrakech.
27 avril 2009: Marrakech -> Beni Mellal
200km en ne comptant pas le détour obligatoire par les cascades d'Ouzoud.
Prenons notre temps pour cette petite étape, je crois que Marrakech nous aura probablement tenu tard dans la soirée...
28 avril 2009: Beni Mellal -> Azrou -> Fès
280km Pour rejoindre Fès. Comme nous étions déjà passé dans les environs à l'aller, nous pouvons filer directement en direction de Fès.
Prenons notre temps pour cette petite étape, je crois que Marrakech nous aura probablement tenu tard dans la soirée...
Pour info, nous avons emprunté la piste qui part de Midelt au cirque de Jaffar en voiture de tourisme (superbe !) mais nous avons dû rebrousser chemin au bout de quelques km. En revanche, je connais quelqu'un qui a fait la piste... en VTT ! donc en moto ? A tenter... ensuite au bout de la piste vous rattrappez la route qui mène jusqu'à Imilchil/lac Tislit.
Si vous comptez camper dans le jebel Ayachi, vers le lac par exemple, emportez un bon sac de couchage et des polaires car vous serez à 2500/3000m d'altitude, et quelle que soit la saison (en sept-oct les températures sont encore très agréables), ça caille !
Ensuite, descendre par Agoudal, Tamtattouchte pour arriver aux gorges du Todra.
Seuls les 4x4 empruntent la piste qui relie les gorges du Todra aux gorges du Dadès. Je vous conseille plutôt de descendre ensuite sur Tineghir, puis Boulemane pour rejoindre les gorges du Dadès.
Pour l'essence sans plomb, théoriquement pas de problème pour s'approvisionner ; vous pourrez faire le plein à Midelt sans problème, ainsi qu'à Tineghir.

Jour 1 : Traversée de l'Espagne jusqu'à Algesiras
Jour 2 : Bateau Algesiras - Ceuta (durée : 40 min, tarif A/R : 178 euros pour 1 moto + 2 personnes), nuit à Chefchaouen
Jour 3 : Chefchaouen - Fès (traversée du rif) : beaux paysages
Jour 4 : Visite de Fès le matin puis Fès - Midelt l'après-midi
Jour 5 : Midelt - Rich -Imilchil : superbes paysages
Jour 6 : Imilchil - Tamtattouchte (piste 50 kms) - Gorges du Todgha - Boulmane du dadès : attention, la piste était en travaux pour goudronnage lors de notre passage
Jour 7 : Boulmane - vallée des roses - Aït Benhaddou - Taliouine : intéressant jusqu'à Aït Benhaddou mais monotone après jusqu'à Taliouine, longue journée
Jour 8 : Taliouine - Tizi'n test - Marrakech : magnifique
Jour 9 : repos à marrakech
Jour 10 : Marrakech - Demnate - Beni Mellal - Zaouia ech Cheikh : longue journée mais super paysages
Jour 11 : Zaouia - Sources Oum er Rbia - Ifrane
Jour 12 : Ifrane - Meknès - Moulay Idriss - Volubilis - Moulay Bousselham
Jour 13 : Moulay Bousselham - Larache - Tanger - Ceuta
Jour 14 : Traversée de l'Espagne
N'hésites pas si tu as besoin d'autres renseignements.
Pas de souci pour le 95, il y a même une station à Imilchil maintenant.
Pour les tempés à cette saison c'est un peu la loterie, soit il fera encore bon soit on tombe sur des tempés hivernales voire de la neige. Méfiance à moto si panne+froid... ne pas oublier les couvertures de survie. l'itinéraire peut être modifié en fonction du temps (si il fait trop froid à Midelt > vallée du Ziz > Erfoud/Errachidia ou dades)
Je suis au Maroc du 27 sept au 14 oct. Je fais le trajet Tanger, Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Fès, Azrou, Marakech, Ouarzazate, Zagora, Vallées Dades et Toghda, vallée du Ziz, Midelt Melila, retour en Europe. Je ne serai pas contre une rencontre pour partager un repas 😉.

I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?

I just realized I’ve been registered on VoyageForum since... March 28, 2012 😊. Yet, I’ve barely participated until now.
August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. If I’m finally taking the time to write, it’s mostly because after five years on the road, I thought our experience might be useful to other travelers.

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.

I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?
Where can I get vehicle insurance?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.
Could you share your experiences or advice?

Next October we’re planning to ride the Ruta de la Plata by motorcycle—a historic Spanish route that runs from Gijón to Seville, also known as the N630.
Has anyone here already ridden it?
Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.
