Mon mari et moi prévoyons de partir à l'ile maurice en avril 2009. Nous voulons prendre un bungalow ou appart pied dans l'eau. Est-ce que quelqu'un connait bien Flic-en-Flac ou Belle Mare, lequel entre ces 2 a la plus belle plage (eau cristalline et plage de sable blanc) pour la bronzette et les sports nautiques. Est-ce que les activités nautiques sont chers (hors hotel). Y-a-t-il des petits restos locaux pas chers ? Est-ce que quelqu'un connait un bon plan pour des locations bungalow ou appart dans l'un de ces 2 endroits. Merci pour toute informations pour les bons plans.
entre flic anf flac et bellemare, y a pas photos, bellemare, pour les plages ; par contre pour les logemts, à flic en flac, il y en a bcp^; à l'arrière, j'ai plus l'adresse, il y a un complexe d'appart, très modernes, avec piscine, salle de gym etc pour pas excessifs ; si tu vas en avril, il y aura de la place sans réservations ; ne pas aller en période vacances Réunion, ss réserver; pour la plongée avec bouteilles, flic en flac très bien sinon moi je trouve cet endroit pas extra; à la limite je te conseille environs de Grandbaie, vers trou aux biches, très belle plage; les restos chinois, en gele, st très bons et pas chers.
Avant tout il faut savoir qu'à Maurice tous les endroits ne sont pas sécurisés - il y a beaucoup de problèmes de drogue et de délinquance et celà il faut le savoir avant de partir à Maurice déjà éviter certaines plages - certains quartiers de Port Louis comme parcs publics etc.... éviter certains quartiers de Rose Hill et Quatre Bornes qui sont très proches de Flic en Flac la plage n'est pas sûre et de plus elle n'est pas très jolie je sais il y a pas mal de locations à tarif intéressant - mais bon... tu reviens dans ton bungalow et tu n'y trouves plus rien et parfois la serrure n'est même pas forcée .... à Flic en Flac il n'y à pratiquement aucun commerce et le soir c'est d'une tristesse à regretter d'être venu si loin..... Je te recommande le nord de l'Ile - Grand Baie est une zone sécurisée il y a des vigiles qui surveillent les plages, les hotels, les rues. Si tu tiens vraiment à avoir les pieds dans l'eau et un paysage paradisiaque tu vas à la pointe aux Canonniers - il y a une structure de bungalows - SEAPOINT BEACH -en 2007 un studio lit double pour 2 personnes : de 55 à 65 euros - www.seapointbungalows.com - c'est un endroit merveilleux voisin avec un superbe hotel et un peu plus loin un des 2 clubs Med ...
Grand Baie se trouve à environ 3 kms - multitude de restaurants de tous les continents et également un magasin SUPER U où l'on trouve pratiquement de tout avec en plus sa galerie marchande.
En ce qui me concerne, j'ai passé 2 semaines à Grand Baie à l'hotel Ti Fleur - je vous recommande cet hotel si vous renoncez au bungalow - le personnel et la propriétaire sont d'une gentillesse hors du commun - elle vous renseignera sur les excursions à faire et aussi sur les voitures de location que l'on peut trouver à 20 euros par jour.
Il faut aussi savoir qu'à Maurice il ne fait pas soleil 365 jours sur 365 - il y a beaucoup de pluie c'est aussi pour celà que cette ile est verte et fertile - donc attendez-vous à de bonnes averses chaudes soit mais pluies quand même
Au niveau nautique, il y a beaucoup de possibilité - par exemple si vous visiter l'extrème nord les iles on va vous proposer des bateaux ou catamarans avec repas à bord - il faut savoir qu'un seul bateau fait le repas à bord "MAEVA catamaran" tous les autres font le repas sur la plage - il faut le savoir
L'ile aux cerfs est à visiter - il faut y passer la journée et prendre un bateau rapide - il faut compter environ 500 roupies par personne avec le repas de plus ils vous font visiter les cascades.

Vous parlez de locations de voiture à EUR 20 par jour de location, avez-vous des informations concernant un téléphone de la personne ou y a t-il une voiture de location à l'aéroport à ce prix là. Y-a-t-il une assurance comprise dedans ? Nous irons effectivement un jour sur l'ile au cerf, votre information m y est utile. Des gens nous en dit qu'il faut aller aussi à l'ile de la Réunion qui est à côté de l'ile Maurice. Connaissez-vous le tarif pour un vol Maurice-Réunion-Maurice ? Vaut-il la peine de y aller pour 3 jours ? Savez-vous combien coûte une sortie pêche au gros ? Merci et bonne journée.
Finalement vous avez choisi un 4 étoiles donc vous serez sécurisés, je connais la région de Tamarin, c’est très sauvage encore très joli, par contre il n’y a aucune animation à l’extérieur des hotels.
Dans la région, je vous conseille de visiter CASELA c’est un parc animalier : http://www.caselayemen.mu/index.htm vous avez la possibilité de marcher avec des lions ; mon amie mauricienne m’a présenté au responsable Monsieur Labat, c’est un homme passionné par ce qu’il fait http://maurice.runweb.com/lang-FR-page-836-2V-page, Des-lions-dans-les-cannes.html (le monsieur avec la barbe et le chapeau) – il nous a expliqué durant près d’une heure le cycle de vie d’un lion, c’était très intéressant, il avait également prévu d’y installer de jeunes léopards courant 2008 voire 2009.
En ce qui concerne la location de voiture, les tarifs pratiqués à 20 euros sont des tarifs proposés de bouche à oreille, il n’est pas facile de louer une voiture à l’aéroport à moins de l’avoir loué avant le départ, pour rejoindre votre hotel, je vous conseille de négocier directement avec l’hotel lors de votre réservation parfois c’est gratuit – je vous déconseille également de louer une voiture dès votre descente d’avion – vous allez vous retrouver sur une sorte d’autoroute assez fréquenté et rouler à gauche avec le volant à droite – prendre les sens giratoires par la gauche, ce n’est pas évident les premières minutes – faites plutot vos premièrs kilomètres sur des routes moins fréquentées.
Lors de vos excursions sous serez certainement amenés à devoir traverser Port Louis, évitez le matin entre 8h et 9h et le soir à partir de 16h, c’est embouteillé autant que la place de l’étoile à Paris.
Soyez très vigilents avec la conduite portez la ceinture de sécurité – la police Mauricienne fait des contrôles partout … ne soyez pas étonnés de vous faire contrôler sur une voie rapide – on vous arrête tout simplement dans la circulation ou à l’entrée d’un rond-point.
Une chose à faire également c’est d’assister à une course hippique au champs de mars de Port Louis – cela se passe le samedi après midi mais attention aux pique pocket – pour vous y rendre prenez le bus navette – n’y allez surtout pas en voiture, vous risqueriez de ne jamais trouver de place.
En ce qui concerne le parking, il est souvent payant dans les grandes villes – il faut acheter un carnet de stationnement dans les stations service.
Je ne vous conseille pas trop faire l’extension à la Réunion surtout pour 3 jours, déjà vous allez perdre du temps pour rejoindre l’aéroport de Plaisance, le vol est rapide soit, mais vous perdrez facilement une journée pour y aller et une journée pour le retour, et le coût de la vie est très élevé par rapport à Maurice.
Bien qu’elle soit son ile sœur, la Réunion est un pays tout à fait différent de Maurice – il faut savoir qu’il n’y a pratiquement pas de lagons, et l’intérêt de cette ile, c’est visiter la montagne je pense que 3 jours c’est peu…
Air Austral fait les rotations en prenant son billet à l’avance compter environ entre 150 et 300 euros aller/retour par personne .
Pour le même tarif vous pouvez aussi passer quelques jours sur l’ile Rodrigues qui fait partie de Maurice – c’est une île paradisiaque où pour le moment il n’y a pas trop de touristes.
Il y en a certainement des moins chers mais là c’est du sérieux on vous proposera certainement des sorties à 10, 000 roupies, mais avant d’accepter veillez bien à regarder l’état du bateau.

Désolé, je n'avais pas encore eu le temps de vous remercier de votre message du 10 juillet car j'étais partie en vacances et pas eu le temps de consulter ce super site.
Nous allons finalement écouter votre conseil et laisser tomber la réunion à courte période. Et comme cela nous profiterons pleinement de nos visites et activités nautique sur l'île Maurice, je penses que nous aurions suffisemment à faire pour environ 10 jours.
Chamarel fait d'ailleurs parti de notre visite et pensons même y dormir pour une nuit.
Je pense que votre choix est raisonnable vous ferez peut-être la découverte de la Réunion à l'occasion d'un autre voyage, en ce qui concerne les 10 jours aucun soucis il y a de quoi faire - d'autant plus que le tourisme de l'ile est en pleine mutation - on commence à parler écologie et vacances vertes, c'est à dire que l'on trouvera de plus en plus de chambres d'hôtes dans la montagne pour accueillir les touristes.
N'oubliez pas de visiter le jardin botanique de Pamplemousse, alors ne faites pas comme moi... n'y allez surtout pas en short et bras nus !!! même tôt le matin... en quelques minutes vous serez piqués par des dizaines de moustiques qui adorent la peau blanche.
A quelques kilomètres de là, ne ratez pas la visite de " l'aventure du sucre " http://www.aventuredusucre.com/ c'est très intéressant non seulement sur la production du sucre, mais aussi sur les personnes qui travaillaient dans les plantations - c'est tout simplement et bien expliqué l'historique de cette ile : la découverte de l'ile, l'arrivée des colons, des esclaves, des indiens, des chinois etc...bref l'histoire de Maurice et des Mauriciens.
En fin de visite, une jolie mauricienne bien sympathique vous proposera dans son petit magasin, entre autres de gouter au rhum mauricien et la vente de divers produits locaux.

bonjour je rentre de Maurice et peut être pourrais je vous donner qq renseignements . Personnellement je n'aime pas Flic en Flac . Concernant toutes les locations pieds dans l'eau cela est devenu prohibitif ex: j'ai essaye de louer un P2 a trou aux biches et c'était pour une habitation propre dans les 190 € / jour ( autan aller à l'hotel !!! ) je me suis donc rabattu sur Trou D'Eau Douce ( face l'ile aux cerfs ) et je suis allé chez mr et mme LALLOO leur resort s'appelle le CILAOS BEACH ( c'est dans le routard ) c'est face à la mer, la plage est propre contrairement à bons nombres de plages ou malgrè leur nettoyage journalier ce sont de vraie poubelle !!! . vous vous baignerez dans une eau translucide et aucun risque avec les bateau si vous faite du palme masque tuba !!! Toutes les activités nautiques sont chères . tous les petits restau sont également chers et on n'a bien souvent pas grand chose dans l 'assiette pour 25€ à 2 !!! et oui le myte de Maurice ile paradisiaque a bien changé !!! d' ailleurs des investisseur locaux, encouragé je suppose par le gouvernement, propose à la vente des résidences à 1 million d € voir 1, 5 et plus, l'objectif étant de faire venir une clientelle aisée . Donc tout le monde suit ce mode de raisonnement et les prix s'emballent . il faut compter par exemple 40€ pour un taxi de l'aéroport a gd Baie . En fait la vie est aussi chère voir plus chère que chez nous .

I’d describe myself as a "former diver." I’ve done around 450 dives in natural environments across different settings. I put diving on hold about 5 years ago due to work/schedule constraints and, let’s say, family reasons. Since then, I’ve still tried to stay in shape with hiking trips, running, swimming, and freediving in protected environments, etc...

We’ll be in Dahab again this October—we’ve been going since 1979—to freedive. In 2025, to our surprise, access to the Blue Hole is now paid: on top of the 10 € taxi fare, you have to pay $10 per person to enter the park. So we’re heading outside Dahab to the Three Pools site by bike, rented locally. Is there a bus that goes there, or shared taxis, instead of the tourist taxis? And where can we catch them? We’ve seen big buses full of local families on the site, but we don’t know where to find them. Thanks in advance!

For flight schedules and prices from Bordeaux, and ease of reaching Alexandria by bus/train afterward, I’m considering spending 4 days around Hurghada (direct flight from Bdx).
I don’t think I’ll go for courses to get my Level 1, since I don’t plan to dive often in the future—unless you think it’s better than doing 2 discovery dives in this area (I only have one baptism under my belt, in Koh Tao 15 years ago—amazing! But I’m not targeting trips for diving; I need to go to Alexandria, so this is a chance to get back into diving and snorkeling).
I’m looking for a spot to do some snorkeling, 1 or 2 baptisms, and explore the surroundings. I’ll arrive in early March on the evening of Day 0. I’ll have 3.5 days after that (I’m planning to leave on Day 4 around 4 PM by bus/train).
Is Hurghada completely to be avoided in favor of another area in the Red Sea, or can I still have a nice 3.5 days there? I know places like Dahab are more pleasant, but the convenience and timing of Hurghada appeal to me...
I usually prefer more authentic travel spots and places, but I’m willing to compromise on that if it’s still worth it for the diving.
Or should I only stay 2.5 days and head to Alexandria a day earlier? (I’ve already seen Cairo and Luxor a bit.)

With my advanced certification in hand for a few years now, I’m on the lookout for the best dive spots in Malaysia.
I’ve obviously heard about the Perhentians and Sipadan.
Someone mentioned Tioman too, but not necessarily for diving.
Do you have any feedback on these places for diving? (visibility, marine life diversity, etc.)
Any idea about the rates for fun dives?
Dive centers you’d recommend?

I’m looking for a destination in Vietnam for January to spend a week and go snorkeling.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I know Thailand well, and with my Thai friend, we’d like to try a different country.
This is the excursion we shouldn’t have done in Mauritius.
We did it with The Friendly Dodo, but from what I saw, it’s the same with most agencies.
Departure at 6 a.m. (even though the sun rises at 7 a.m. in August). Why? Because there’s only one well-known spot where the dolphins are, and all the agencies race to get there first.
For 45 to 60 minutes, it’s just straight-line navigation to the spot. No one’s looking for dolphins—we’re just speeding there in silence, full throttle.
Once we arrive, there are already 5-6 boats. The dolphins are there, sure. The boats fight for the best position, cutting off the dolphins’ path, and then—go, go, go—everyone jumps in. Not a single instruction is given on how to approach the dolphins respectfully. Result: everyone jumps in at the same time from 3 boats, creating a huge splash, and rushes toward the dolphins. Outcome: faced with this chaos, the dolphins dive, and you can’t see them from the boat anymore. The swimmers who are right in their path might see them pass below for a few seconds at best.
Everyone climbs back onto the boats, and as soon as the dolphins resurface, the same cycle starts all over again.
After 5 or 6 jumps like this (3 of which I didn’t even see the dolphins), it’s back to the port the same way we came.
Not a single explanation is given during the entire excursion about the dolphins themselves or how to approach them.
Safety-wise, I didn’t feel comfortable either with all the boats fighting for position. I bumped into another boat (no pain) while swimming, and I wasn’t reassured about the propellers.
With all this circus, my daughters didn’t even want to get in the water. The problem is, when you stay on the boat, you don’t get much out of it either—because as soon as the dolphins resurface, everyone jumps in haphazardly and scares them off again.
Having done the same kind of outing in Réunion, I can confirm it’s nothing like this (much better organized and ultimately much more rewarding in Réunion).
Under these conditions, this is an activity we never should’ve done! !

We did a pretty classic route: Perhentians, Cameron Highlands (which I found pointless), Tioman, and Kinabatangan in Borneo. Now I’m thinking of heading to Redang Island—Langkawi is also an option, but it doesn’t appeal to me as much. Any feedback on these two spots?

So far, I haven’t had much luck with diving—at the Perhentians, it was pretty disastrous with water at 31°C 😵😫
I’d love to find a nice island where I can meet people (locals and travelers) because going from a group of six to solo at the end is going to feel weird.

notre voyage en Indonésie étant annulé, et notre agence nous déconseillant l'Egypte, nous sommes à la recherche d'un lieu où nous pourrons faire du snorkeling depuis la plage (et en excursion bateau). Je connais un peu Zanzibar pour y être allé il y a plus de 10 ans, ainsi que Pemba (mais les prix ont explosé), et je me tourne aussi vers Mafia.
Est ce propice au snorkeling , des resorts ont ils des house reef où l'on peut voir des choses intéressantes (je ne m'attends pas non plus au niveau de la Sulawesi ou des Raja).

Ce que j'aime en plongée c'est l'eau claire, les fonds marins attrayants, la vie aquatique particulière, etc. Je ne suis pas une fan d'épaves, mais je considérerai tout les sites / pays proposés :)
