Marrakech: taxi from the airport, what's the fare?

Mid-May: arriving alone (so, a "petit taxi"?) at Marrakech airport around 4:30 PM, is it advisable to take a taxi at the airport (cost?) or is it wiser to book one through the hotel before departure (which would cost me 20 €)? I think I’ve seen lower fares elsewhere (12 €?). Destination: Riad Sijane near Djemaa El Fna square. Thanks!

Hi there, You can take Bus 19, whose stop is located outside at the Arrivals Terminal. The bus can drop you off at Jemaa el Fna square or at the ONCF train station. The trip costs 30 MAD. This bus runs according to your arrival time, plus the stop is well signposted, so it's much cheaper than a taxi. Here's the link: https://airport-marrakech.com/transport/bus/ Payment is cash only. Have a great day.

Thanks a lot, Claire. I hadn’t seen that info. And it’ll save me some hassle right when I arrive. Thanks again.

Hi there,

If you decide to take a taxi, there’s a prepaid taxi service/counter at Marrakech airport with fixed prices. It can really save you from endless haggling.

If you don’t use this service (for the return trip, for example), during the day, the ride costs between 10 and 15 €. At night, it can go up to 20 €. Don’t pay more—just be firm.

Also, on Booking.com, transfers are offered at unbeatable prices. Some companies list them for as low as 5 €.

Thanks Kate for the details. Yeah, the return trip will be at night, so I’ll arrange a taxi for that.
