J'ai pris un vol "aller" Nador et un vol "retour" Tanger
Pouvez vous me conseiller un circuit de Nador à Tanger du 23/09 au 05/10 sachant que je connais Chefchaouen, Tétouan, Martil et Tanger.
Qui peut me renseigner sur les hotels petit-budget de Nador, Al-Hoceima et puis où aller ensuite ? Je voyage uniquement en transports locaux.

au pire si vous trouvez pas d'adresse, les Marocains sur place peuvent vous fournir les logements pas cher etc...

sur mon blog, je ne pense pas que tu trouveras la réponse à ta question, dans le nord, je suis allée à Tanger, Chefchaouen, Ouezzane (en passant) Fes ect .... mais bonne balade tout de même 😉
je me ferais un jour un circuit entre la cote et la route oujda-rabat, dans le rif. les paysages sont magnifiques, et il ne doit pas y avoir foule ...

Allez bref, j'ai pas mal trainé dans le rif mais avec ma bagnole...Mais si tu es débrouillard, y a pas un endroit au Maroc ou il est impossible d'aller d'une ville à l'autre...La question des transports ne posera jamais de problèmes, c'est surtout une contrainte que les gens s'adjugent...Maintenant, il y a des endroits ou il faut juste avoir un peu plus de temps...J'ai déjà demander directement à des gens si ils pouvaient m'emmener plus loin et pas eu de refus...Même sans bus et sans grand taxi ( c'est vraiment très rare pour les grands taxis) , on peut bouger même dans le Rif...
Quand tu arriveras de Nador, bon la ville et Melilla se visitent, perso j'aime pas trop...
La route vers Guercif et Al Hoceima ne casse pas des briques...
Al Hoceima est sympa par contre, pour dormir, j'ai vu pas mal de petits hôtels mais pas testé car je dors à chaque fois sur la plage en posant ma tente sur un faux camping dans la baie, y a un mec qui te prépare une tajine et y a un coin wc et douche au sceau, la tente directe sur les galets face à la mer pour 15 dhs la nuit et 25 dhs de + pour la bouffe...j'aime bien entendre la mer arriver sur les galets, je dors là chaque fois que j'arrive par Nador en bateau...
La route entre Al hoceima et Chaouen est superbe, vraiment superbe...
Ketama à une ambiance spéciale, si tu as une tête de mec qui fume, tu seras souvent interpellé...et si tu fumes...t'auras la ville sur le dos pour t'en vendre😛...Mais c'est plus chiant pour ceux qui sont avec leur propre voiture, à pied ça va encore...Si t'es curieux de visiter des fermes à cannabis...Je te conseil plutôt de partir depuis Bab-Berret que Kétama, il faut pas mal marcher, les fermes ne sont pas trop en bord de route, faut marcher et même faire un peu de bagnole car faut compter 20 bornes au moins...au cas où, ne pas partir en campagne avec de quoi acheter un kilo..(encore un conseil, un bon🙂)..et tout dépend quand tu y vas en plus, après octobre, plus aucun intérêt et pas conseillé, le fauchage a eu lieu et commence la période ou faut vendre à tout prix (par contre les prix sont bons)
Voilà pour la parenthèse sur l'or vert du Rif, je ne suis pas fumeur même si j'en ai pris parfois mais j'ai fait quelques visites dans le coin avec un ami qui lui voit ça comme une religion, du coup, j'ai pu voir pas mal de choses que j'aurais jamais vu normalement et que peu de gens ont pu voir et même si on ne fume pas, ça reste intéressant je trouve de voir comment cela se passe car on parle pas d'un petit business de brigand mais de la principale source de revenu de près d'un million de rifains...Bref 😉...
Pour la rando, tu as le mont Tidiquin près de Kétama à faire, par temps clair, la vue est superbe et ce n'est pas trop dur, ne pars pas depuis la ville, demande à te faire emmener un peu en avant, prends un numéro de tel d'un petit taxi pour le retour qu'il vienne te chercher...
Sinon, tout simplement le parc de Talassemtane que tu connais peut être si tu dis bien connaître Chaouen...là t'as du boulot en rando....
Sinon la petit route côtière est belle aussi et quasi pas de touristes...Tu peux faire la boucle de Kétama à chaouen...La côte est sympa, pour dormir, halte à Stéhat qui est une petite ville tranquille ou tu trouveras sans souci petits hôtels...J'ai une amie de France qui s'est acheté une petite maison ici, j'ai mieux aimé la ville que oued laou ou les autres, pas d'avis sur les auberges car je dors chez la copine mais d'après ce que j'en ai entendu dire, correcte et pas cher et très facile de négocier hors saison car il n'y a plus personne. Le risque, un hiver j'ai vu tout fermé...
il y a 3 route de traverse que j'ai testé, peut être plus mais pas fait...goudronné et j'y ai croisé des grands taxis...Celle de l'oued Laou, la P 4113 et 4115, la 4111 est aussi goudronné mais pas testé...Ici, les paysages sont beaux et surtout t'es vraiment dans l'ambiance, tu n'y croiseras pas ces grappes de CC qui gâchent le paysage...
Enfin, je conseil aussi le lac du barrage d'el wada...J'aime beaucoup la différence de paysage...on part sur du boisé et plus rien du tout ou presque, le bleu du lac est assez joli, plutôt turquoise...Mais s'armer de patience pour les grands taxis, on peut facilement perdre quelques heures dans ce coin là à attendre...D'ailleurs vu les prix modestes, n'hésite pas pour gagner du temps d'acheter une ou deux places en plus ...
Bon tu n'as pas le temps de tout faire, surtout sans voiture...donc à toi de choisir...Le rif sud vers le lac mais pas top niveau dodo...LA N2 qui traverse le Rif avec un peu de rando, où la petite route de la côte...
Pour le Rif, petite info à ne pas négliger...Mieux vaut parler un peu plus espagnol que français😛...
ps : pour ceux qui liront ça et qui voudraient des infos sur la fumette, ne m'écrivez pas en Mp, je ne répondrais pas la dessus.😉
Et bien, je vais suivre certain de tes conseils, et oui je suis très débrouillard même sans connaître l'espagnol. Mais dans le nord beaucoup de marocains parlent le français également;
Je vais donc (bien que cela n'en vaille beaucoup la peine) visiter Nador puisque j'arrive par là et Mellila, juste pour voir !
De là, Al-Hoceima par la route cotière, ensuite direction Stéhat que tu me conseilles vivement (effectivement sur le net on ne dit que du bien de cette petite ville) j'espère pouvoir m'y poser quelques jours.
De Stéhat, aller à Chaouen en espérant que ce soit possible en taxi collectif. Bien envie d'aller à Kétama (possibilité d'y aller en bus ou taxi collectif ?, on verra) je n'y suis jamais allé car tout le monde le déconseille et qu'il n'y aurait que des petits hôtels pourraves ! et comme je n'ai jamais visité de fermes à canabis, cela pourrait être intéressant (je fume très occasionnellement)
Et direction Tanger pour reprendre mon vol (j'aime énormément Tanger, je souhaite y rester 3 jours à nouveau.
Bref, tout cela doit être possible en restant 12 jours pleins ! sinon je zapperais Chefchaouen

Dommage que tu ne sois pas en voiture, très peu de gens osent aller fouiner le Rif en voiture ( tant mieux pour moi quand j'y suis peut être) et pourtant...Il y a beaucoup de petites routes goudronnées...Dans certains coins, on est assez souvent hélé sur le bord de route pour des petits achats mais dans d'autres c'est relativement calme...et c'est infiniment plus calme qu'il y a 10 ans en plus...
Cela fait bien longtemps que je ne viens plus en voiture au Maroc. Je préfère prendre un vol AR qui ne me coûte jamais plus de 60 euros avec Ryanair ! j'ai de bonnes jambes et j'aime bien prendre les transports locaux comme les marocains et puis cela me permet de discuter avec eux lorsque je me déplace.

- Why do so many people recommend avoiding international agencies for car rentals? Can anyone explain why?
- Is Booking.com reliable, and has anyone rented a vehicle through their service? There’s a pretty big price difference compared to local Moroccan agencies.
- Is there a detailed road map included in the rental car?
- Is Google Maps enough to get around the High Atlas? This will be my first trip there.

I’ve read through the various discussions about the country, but I’m still a bit unsure🤪: for currency exchange, I saw on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that withdrawing currency with a bank card from ATMs is limited to 200 TND per week. There are four of us traveling by car, so that might be a bit tight! And it’s a hassle to carry a lot of cash, even if I’m not being paranoid! What do you all recommend?

Then, when I mentioned I wanted to stay for two or three weeks—maybe even a month—explaining that my trip wouldn’t be strictly touristy but more of a pilgrimage to the places of my childhood, and that it would likely be a very emotional journey, I expected a positive and warm reaction to my approach. Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...

- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?
- Is this document mandatory for a hotel to rent a room?

- Is a hotel booking (e.g., via Booking.com) sufficient for the visa?
- If so, does it need to be paid in advance?
I plan to visit several cities and do one or more treks with a guide or agency.

I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Day 8: Stop in Meknes and possibly visit the historic site of Volubilis
Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad)
After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address
AND a password (with confirmation). Is this normal?

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

Do you know of any places around Marrakech, Ouarzazate, or Kelaat M’Gouna where we might have the chance to meet Gnawa musicians?
We’ll also be staying a few days in Aït Benhaddou and Skoura during our trip toward the Dadès Valley.
If you have any good spots to buy a guembri along the way, I’d love to hear about them too! :)
Mid-May: arriving alone (so, a "petit taxi"?) at Marrakech airport around 4:30 PM,
is it advisable to take a taxi at the airport (cost?) or is it wiser to book one through the hotel before departure (which would cost me 20 €)?
I think I’ve seen lower fares elsewhere (12 €?).
