Je pars au vietnam, fin mars début avril, pendant trois semaine. J'ai choisi de me limiter plutôt au nord du pays.
Est-il possible de se baigner pendant cette période, je me rend pas compte au niveau du climat. Et si oui, il y a des belles plages, c'est possible de faire du snorkeling ?
Bref, je cherche des infos sur la vie balnéaire fin mars au nord du Vietnam 😉.
J'ai l'impression qu'il fait encore un peu frais à cette période...

Je me suis baigné vers le 27 Mars, dans la baie d'Halong, sur la petite plage des 3 pêches (Ba Trái Dào). L'eau devait être autour de 23°. C'est possible de se baigner, parce que je porte toujours un maillot de corps pour les bains de mer, qui me sert comme une seconde peau.
J'ai toujours masque et tuba avec moi. Il y a quelques poissons multicolores et surtout beaucoup de crabes bleues, un vrai régal pour la bouche.
Pour accéder à la plage des Ba Trái Dào, il faut louer une jonque individuelle🙂.

En même temps, en trois semaine, je pense que je pourrais peut être descendre vers le sud. Peut être qu'en parcourant 400-500 kilomètres, j'aurais un climat plus "tropical".
J'hésite vraiment à partir dans le sud pour avoir un vrai climat tropical, mais je suis aussi attiré par le nord... Eternelle question !
Sinon, connais tu Quan lan ? Est ce un endroit très touristique ? J'ai l'impression que ça reste encore assez calme comme endroit...

Permettez moi de vous dire que pour trouver ce que vous recherchez : chaleur, baignades... franchement il aurait mieux valu choisir le sud - allez à l'encontre des saisons... n'apporte pas forcément des résultats positifs -
Bien sûr tous les mois de mars au nord ne sont pas forcément frais, pluvieux et gris, et le mois d'avril offre en général une amélioration notable, mais guère avant le 15 - j'espère que vous ne serez pas déçu😕😕

Merci, j'ai un témoignage clair sur le climat fin mars !
Du coup, je pense que ce que je vais faire, c'est arriver à Hanoi, et repartir de Ho Chi Minh, en prenant un vol intérieur, comme ça, j'en profiterai au maximum. En trois semaine, c'est jouable !

Très bonne décision... vous ne regretterez pas car j'ai personnellement fui à jamais le mois de Mars à Hanoi - je pense que c'est certainement le plus pénible dans cette région - avec le changement climatique, .. on ne sait jamais, mais il se rapproche tout à fait de nos mois de fin d'hiver en France, sans soleil, uniformément gris🙁 sans lésiner du tout sur une petite bruine persistante accompagnée de brume..
Par contre dans le Sud, c'est le grand beau temps, chaud et peu de pluie - comme dit une des habituées de notre forum"t-shirt et chapeau !!

Je me demande du coup comment est la cote du sud du Vietnam. Est-ce très touristique partout, il y a-t-il des zones un peux plus epargnées ?

Phu Quoc n'est pas (encore) envahi par le tourisme - il faut se dépêcher d'en profiter avant - il y a de belles plages et beaucoup de forumistes en ont parlé comme d'un endroit encore préservé - La personne qui pourrait vous renseigner mieux que moi sur ce forum c'est Ottlnpac qui a vécu là-bas et aussi à Nha Trang(deux ans!!) si elle n'accroche pas sur votre post, vous pourriez la contacter afin qu'elle vous donne tous les tenants et aboutissants au sujet de cet endroit -

Il ne fait pas encore très bon sur la baie d'Halong fin Mars.
Si vraiment, vous tenez à vos 2 jours de plage, vers la 3ème semaine d'Avril, vous prenez l'avion de Hanoi pour Nha Trang et ensuite l'avion pour Hanoi ou Saigon pour rentrer en France! Vous pourriez alors prétendre de profiter du maximum, moyennant des sacrifices financiers.

Je ne réponds plus à ce genre de question, j'en ai marre des touristes qui veulent être seuls au monde. Les plages, les stations balnéaires, c'est FAIT POUR les touristes !!!
Veux-tu bien m'excuser d'avoir voulu rendre service, mais par ailleurs, tu prêches une convaincue..... "le seul au monde" c'est dans l'air du temps, c'est comme le RECHAUFFEMENT climatique (au lieu de changement) c'est comme l'aspartame qui brusquement devient un poison parce qu'il faut placer la Stevia..qui coûte 10 fois plus cher... tout ça ça m'énerve autant que toi.... mais en l'occurence je voulais juste donner une idée de Phu Quoc que tu sais je ne connais pas.... à ce forumiste qui m'avait semblé aimable et bien élevé - nous sommes bien placées, toi et moi, pour savoir que c'est loin d'être toujours le cas !!!

Cherchez Mavn rubrique "Phu Quoc" ; j'ai fait une vidéo sur cette île paradisiaque. Par contre, nous y étions en juin et je peux vous assurer qu'il n'y avait personne.... nous n'étions pas plus d'une dizaine de personnes au Tropicana Ressort et lors de nos ballades à Duong Duong, c'était pas la foule ; loin de là !!!!
Dépêchez-vous d'y aller car je pense que dans quelques années, d'après ce qu'on dit, ça va changer....

Les plages au VietNam sont la plupart du temps déserte, car elles sont très méconnues.Je prends l'exemple de Phú Quôc, dont tout le monde parle à tort et à travers.Parmi ceux qui ont déjà mis les pieds à Phú Quôc, quels sont ceux qui se sont baignés sur la plage de Bai Khiêm, quasi déserte et immaculée, juste un village de pêcheur, avec un sable aussi blanc qu'à la plage de Bai sao.A noter que Bai Khiêm se trouve à moins de 2 km de Bai sao, qui elle-même n'est pas très fréquentée, sauf au moment des vacances de vietnamiens.

Pas de souci, je t'ai répondu à toi pour éviter une nouvelle polémique (suis pas d'humeur en ce moment).
Je suis toujours prête à rendre service, mais je trie de plus en plus et, comme les alertes de BigBrother, certains mots me font dire "pff...encore ! non, je zappe".
Non mais Ottlnpac, je sais bien. Le truc c'est que je reviens de Thailande, et j'ai passé de très bon moment dans des endroits un peu tourisitiques, et d'autres moins boin ou tout est occidentalisé pour que le touriste retrouve un peu les memes conditions de vie que chez lui. Je ne vois plus trop l'intéret de voyager (à mes yeux : les autres font ce qui veulent, c'est pas mon problème) , et j'étais même mal à l'aise.
Je ne veux pas être seul sans touriste, j'aime beacoup rencontrer d'autre touristes, mais je ne veux pas non plus traverser la moitié de la planète pour avoir l'impression de ne pas avoir quitter mon appart.
Ma question, était surtout de savoir l'état de la côte au Vietnam à ce niveau la : si l'industrie touristique s'est trop développé à mon goût, je n'irai pas. Il y a plusieurs façon de voyager, c'est pas un secret ! Et j'ai décidé de partir au Vietnam un peu à l'aveugle, donc je cherche juste des pistes, un "climat général", à être orienté vers ce qui me plaît.
Mais Abalone, Kimtwo et Mavn ont bien saisi le sens de ma question, et je l'ai en remercie.
Je suis toujours très impressionnée par les personnes, qui connaissent bien le pays et, qui ont la patience, l'envie, de répondre aux questions des néophites.
Je comprends le ras le bol de certains d'entre vous 🤪
A Pho Quoc, nous y sommes allés l'an dernier. Petits bungalow très sommaires tenus par des allemands : nickel. Ils m'avaient réservé mes billets de retour en bateau, m'ont envoyé qqun à l'aéroport à notre arrivée. En ce qui concerne les plages, les trouristes ne restent que devant leurs hôtels. Vous marchez 10 min sur la plage et MAGIE : Elle est pour vous !! et magnifique de surcroît.
Mais l'île se construit à vitesse grand V.
Pour ma prochaine visite (partie nord cette fois-ci), je vais chercher d'autres plages du genre. (Et oui, avec personne, parce que OUI, je suis une touriste et je cherche des endroits paradisiaques, que je suis un stéréotype et que je comprends que ça vous énerve aussi ...).
En tous les cas, à Pho Quoc, je me suis sentie tellement bien tous seuls avec mon mari, que pour la première fois de ma vie, j'ai dégraphé mon haut de maillot de bain, j'ai construit des château de sable à genoux les fesses en l'air et on a joué avec des crabes. C'est con, mais je n'aurais jamais fait ça en Vendée ou je ne sais où en France. Désolée pour mes côtés beauf !!! (j'assume...).

Je suis actuellement en train d'organiser mon itinéraire pour le Vietnam. Nous n'avons que 15 jours en octobre et avons donc décidé de se limiter au nord du pays. We’re planning a trip to Thailand for next summer. It’s the rainy season, but that’ll let us explore forest parks (Khao Yai and Khao Sok, most likely) in full bloom and teeming with wildlife. We’d also like to spend a few days on beaches with nearby coral reefs during this trip. That’s where we’re hitting a snag—I’m struggling to find an island or region with favorable weather. I’ve gone through quite a few threads on this forum, but most are pretty old and mention a few names (Tao, Phaluai, Ma, or Phang Nga), though with doubts about visibility or overall appeal. Crowds also seemed like a bit of an issue. Just to clarify, our family has mixed interests when it comes to fish-related activities—some are Level 1 divers, while others are snorkelers only.
Are there any good options in July-August for great experiences in the area?

I’d describe myself as a "former diver." I’ve done around 450 dives in natural environments across different settings. I put diving on hold about 5 years ago due to work/schedule constraints and, let’s say, family reasons. Since then, I’ve still tried to stay in shape with hiking trips, running, swimming, and freediving in protected environments, etc...
I’m planning to get back into the bubbles somewhere this year.

I’d like to go jet skiing, either in Phuket or Koh Samui, but I’d need at least two jet skis since there are three of us. Can my 16-year-old ride alone? Our Bali-Lombok trip is taking shape, but we’d love to wrap up the stay with at least a solid week of snorkeling somewhere the coral is still in great condition. We’ll be in Dahab again this October—we’ve been going since 1979—to freedive. In 2025, to our surprise, access to the Blue Hole is now paid: on top of the 10 € taxi fare, you have to pay $10 per person to enter the park. So we’re heading outside Dahab to the Three Pools site by bike, rented locally. Is there a bus that goes there, or shared taxis, instead of the tourist taxis? And where can we catch them? We’ve seen big buses full of local families on the site, but we don’t know where to find them. Thanks in advance!

For flight schedules and prices from Bordeaux, and ease of reaching Alexandria by bus/train afterward, I’m considering spending 4 days around Hurghada (direct flight from Bdx).
I don’t think I’ll go for courses to get my Level 1, since I don’t plan to dive often in the future—unless you think it’s better than doing 2 discovery dives in this area (I only have one baptism under my belt, in Koh Tao 15 years ago—amazing! But I’m not targeting trips for diving; I need to go to Alexandria, so this is a chance to get back into diving and snorkeling).
I’m looking for a spot to do some snorkeling, 1 or 2 baptisms, and explore the surroundings. I’ll arrive in early March on the evening of Day 0. I’ll have 3.5 days after that (I’m planning to leave on Day 4 around 4 PM by bus/train).
Is Hurghada completely to be avoided in favor of another area in the Red Sea, or can I still have a nice 3.5 days there? I know places like Dahab are more pleasant, but the convenience and timing of Hurghada appeal to me...
I usually prefer more authentic travel spots and places, but I’m willing to compromise on that if it’s still worth it for the diving.
Or should I only stay 2.5 days and head to Alexandria a day earlier? (I’ve already seen Cairo and Luxor a bit.)

What do you think are the best diving sites? (I’d appreciate an overview of the country so I can decide based on that.)
Compared to my buddy, I love macro photography (nudibranchs, etc.), so I’d also love any tips on that.
And completely unrelated to diving, but I’d also like info on places to visit (national parks, reserves, etc.) to see the local wildlife.

With my advanced certification in hand for a few years now, I’m on the lookout for the best dive spots in Malaysia.
I’ve obviously heard about the Perhentians and Sipadan.
Someone mentioned Tioman too, but not necessarily for diving.
Do you have any feedback on these places for diving? (visibility, marine life diversity, etc.)
Any idea about the rates for fun dives?
Dive centers you’d recommend?

I’m looking for a destination in Vietnam for January to spend a week and go snorkeling.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I know Thailand well, and with my Thai friend, we’d like to try a different country.
This is the excursion we shouldn’t have done in Mauritius.
We did it with The Friendly Dodo, but from what I saw, it’s the same with most agencies.
Departure at 6 a.m. (even though the sun rises at 7 a.m. in August). Why? Because there’s only one well-known spot where the dolphins are, and all the agencies race to get there first.
For 45 to 60 minutes, it’s just straight-line navigation to the spot. No one’s looking for dolphins—we’re just speeding there in silence, full throttle.
Once we arrive, there are already 5-6 boats. The dolphins are there, sure. The boats fight for the best position, cutting off the dolphins’ path, and then—go, go, go—everyone jumps in. Not a single instruction is given on how to approach the dolphins respectfully. Result: everyone jumps in at the same time from 3 boats, creating a huge splash, and rushes toward the dolphins. Outcome: faced with this chaos, the dolphins dive, and you can’t see them from the boat anymore. The swimmers who are right in their path might see them pass below for a few seconds at best.
Everyone climbs back onto the boats, and as soon as the dolphins resurface, the same cycle starts all over again.
After 5 or 6 jumps like this (3 of which I didn’t even see the dolphins), it’s back to the port the same way we came.
Not a single explanation is given during the entire excursion about the dolphins themselves or how to approach them.
Safety-wise, I didn’t feel comfortable either with all the boats fighting for position. I bumped into another boat (no pain) while swimming, and I wasn’t reassured about the propellers.
With all this circus, my daughters didn’t even want to get in the water. The problem is, when you stay on the boat, you don’t get much out of it either—because as soon as the dolphins resurface, everyone jumps in haphazardly and scares them off again.
Having done the same kind of outing in Réunion, I can confirm it’s nothing like this (much better organized and ultimately much more rewarding in Réunion).
Under these conditions, this is an activity we never should’ve done! !

I’ve been in Malaysia for a month now and still have two more to go. I started traveling with friends, but I’ll be solo for the next month and a half.
We did a pretty classic route: Perhentians, Cameron Highlands (which I found pointless), Tioman, and Kinabatangan in Borneo. Now I’m thinking of heading to Redang Island—Langkawi is also an option, but it doesn’t appeal to me as much. Any feedback on these two spots?

So far, I haven’t had much luck with diving—at the Perhentians, it was pretty disastrous with water at 31°C 😵😫
I’d love to find a nice island where I can meet people (locals and travelers) because going from a group of six to solo at the end is going to feel weird.

notre voyage en Indonésie étant annulé, et notre agence nous déconseillant l'Egypte, nous sommes à la recherche d'un lieu où nous pourrons faire du snorkeling depuis la plage (et en excursion bateau). Je connais un peu Zanzibar pour y être allé il y a plus de 10 ans, ainsi que Pemba (mais les prix ont explosé), et je me tourne aussi vers Mafia.
Est ce propice au snorkeling , des resorts ont ils des house reef où l'on peut voir des choses intéressantes (je ne m'attends pas non plus au niveau de la Sulawesi ou des Raja).

Je pose ma question malgré la situation incertaine actuellement, mais évidemment mon plan de voyage est conditionnel à l'évolution de la pandémie, donc merci de vous abstenir ceux qui me diraient juste de rester chez moi ;)
Donc, je planifie de passer l'hiver au sud de l'Europe, et ou vers les Balkans et j'aimerais savoir si c'est partout de la plongée en eau froide donc avec le drysuit et tout ou s'il y a des endroits qui sont superbes et ou je peux plonger avec un suit plus épais seulement même exemple en février et mars. J'ai lu pas mal ici sur le portugal et malte https://divezone.net/diving/portugal mais j'aimerais l'opinion récente de plongeurs du coin! :)
Ce que j'aime en plongée c'est l'eau claire, les fonds marins attrayants, la vie aquatique particulière, etc. Je ne suis pas une fan d'épaves, mais je considérerai tout les sites / pays proposés :)
