Est-ce que tu sais combien de temps tu resteras à Montréal et dans quel quartier habiter?
Pour la recherche d'un appartement, les petites annonces du journal gratuit Voir sont une bonne référence. Tu le trouves dans les entrées de resto ou sur internet à voir.ca. Sur le net il y a aussi les petites annonces: lespac.com et kijiji montréal.

Mirabel n'est pas si loin de Montréal en termes de km, mais c'est une petite ville. Ce ne sera pas évident pour toi côté transport (à moins de posséder une automobile) et recherche d'emploi. Si cela est possible, tu devrais peut-être considérer de te trouver un logement à Montréal où tout sera plus facile.
Les logements à Montréal sont de plus en plus chers, mais dans certains quartiers il est encore possible de trouver de petits logements à des prix raisonnables; il faut évidemment éviter le centre-ville et ses quartiers adjacents.
Pour l'emploi, tu peux toujours aller chercher les offres disponibles en utilisant les services et outils d'Emploi-Québec. Il y a des bureaux un peu partout sur l'île de Montréal, et aussi en région. À Mirabel il est situé au 13479 boulevard Curé-Labelle.

Je fais juste un copier-coller d'une réponse que j'ai faite à une même question:
Prenez une carte de métro de Montréal et choisissez une colocation près d'une station.
La ligne orange du côté est est plus francophone. Plus vous monterez vers le nord de cette ligne mois c'est cher (grosso modo). Pour le site du métro, googolez avec le terme société des transports de Montréal (STM). (Remarque:Il y a un marché à ciel ouvert ou presque au métro Jean Talon.) C'est la même chose pour la ligne vert, vers l'est, c'est francophone mais on s'éloigne du centre-ville; évitez d'habiter près des stations Papineau et Frontenac.
Restez près des transports en commun. Les distances sont grandes, surtout en hiver.
Le budget pour une colocation: environ 400$/mois.
Les sites: kijiji, craiglist, toutmontreal.com...
Affinez vos recherches dans le forum. Des réponses existent déjà.

Ajoutez un budget de 400$/mois pour la carte de métro et la nourriture (vous cuisinez; si vous vous faites des sandwichs, comptez un peu moins).
Pour la colocation, assurez-vous que soit compris l'eau chaude et le téléphone local (au minimun) et aussi l'internet (très utile pour rechercher des renseignements) . Visez les appartements dont le chauffage est compris sinon vous risquerez de payer de bonnes factures d'électricité. Si vous avez besoin d'un téléphone portable pour votre recherche d'emploi, prenez-en un avec 4 bandes GSM; il vous suffira d'échanger votre puce actuelle contre une d'ici (les compagnies qui utilisent les puces sont Fido et Rogers).
Autre chose: Mirabel est à plus d'une heure de voiture de Montréal. Les transports en commun sont rares.
J'oubliais de préciser: il s'agit de la connection internet à partager (en wifi ou non).
Pensez à emporter votre ordinateur ! Si vous en achetez sur place, les premiers prix pour les ordinateurs portables commencent à 500$. Attendez les promotions de Noël pour les bonus (imprimante).
Dernière chose: il serait très judicieux de noter les dépenses que l'on fait dans une journée. Avec le changement de pays, l'ajustement aux références du coût de la vie d'une nouvelle société et l'enthousiasme de l'arrivée, il est très facile de dépenser sans compter...
