Hi there, I'm thinking about taking this cruise, which runs between November and March. Has anyone here done it? Do the excursions involve a lot of hiking? I'm not much of a walker. Is there a particular month that’s best? Thanks

Hi Dany, If you don’t want to walk, choose the excursions. Generally, there’s very little walking—you’re taken directly to the sights. Just read the description, as it’s often explained there. Avoid November—it’s the rainy season. Spring is the best time if you love flowers.

Hello Catherine, and thank you, I’m a bit reassured about the excursions—there aren’t many details in the description other than planning for "good hiking shoes"! I’ll try to ask at the agency. But ouch, I was thinking of November—would March be better, then?

Hi Dany, We’ve stopped in the Canary Islands several times during transatlantic cruises, and we often had rain in November. That’s when I later read that November is the rainy season—I’ve been wary ever since. On the other hand, December, January, and February are also great months to go. We had beautiful weather and mild temperatures during a week in Tenerife over Christmas.

Okay, thanks! Yeah, I read in several places that it rains in November. Guess I’ll go in March! I’m heading to Cape Verde in January... Have a great day
