Pour répondre à ta question concernant le paludisme (ou malaria), tu as raison de te t'inquiéter. Je dirais que par les années passées, le paludisme était présent en République Dominicaine près de la frontière d'Haïti. L'an passé par contre, (ou il y a 2 ans), nous avons eu dans ma région, un cas de paludisme. En fait, cette personne était allée à Punta Cana. Tu sais, les moustiques, ça voyage! Le paludisme se déclare plusieurs semaines après la piqûre d'insecte.
Pour te protéger, tu peux te faire prescrire de la Chloroquine. Ce n'est pas compliqué à prendre. Tu prend un comprimé une semaine avant ton départ, le jour de ton départ, puis une fois semaine pour les 4 semaines suivantes. C'est un médicament qui est très peu couteux, en tout cas, au Québec. Ça ne vaut pas la peine de prendre des risques pour rien. Pour renforcer ta protection, tu peux aussi apporter un chasse moustique. La chloroquine n'est pas un antibiotique, mais je te suggère quand même d'en parler à ton médecin concernant les allergies de ta fille.
Pour répondre à ta question concernant l'hépatite, oui, c'est plus sage d'être vaccinée contre l'hépatite A. Dans mon cas, comme je travaille dans le milieu hospitalier, j'ai aussi reçu le vaccin pour l'hépatite B. Je te suggère de voir ton médecin qui pourra t'éclairer un peu plus sur le sujet.
Ici a Sherbrooke, nous avons une clinique du voyageur qui donne des renseignements utiles et qui ont des médecins à leur service pour prescrire médicaments et vaccins. Une infirmière sur place injecte le vaccin ensuite. Si c'est le cas en France, peut-être que tu pourrais y dénicher des renseignements utiles concernant ta destination et recevoir les vaccins requis.
Si tu prends toutes les précautions nécessaires, tu n'a pas à t'en faire.
Selon l'avis de plusieurs de mes amis(es), Punta Cana est une belle destination. Profites-en bien.
😉La meilleure façon de te protéger, toi et ta fille, c'est de demander dans une pharmacie la meilleure lotion anti-moustiques, au prime abord, prévention.
Et tu badigeonnes toutes les régions exposées.
Dans la chambre, il ya la clim, les moustiques ne viennent pas, ils n'aiment pas.
Pas plus que les ventilateurs.
Pour 8 jours, je ne te conseillerai pas un traitement, toujours fatiguant, et avec des effets secondaires.
Evite d'aller en excursion dans la montagne.
et même si tu vas dur une ile, prends l'antimoustiques Catalina Saona.
n'oublie pas le paracétamol, en cas de fièvre.
Et si tu as un peu de place dans ta valise, et des médicaments dont tu ne te sers pas, les Dominicains seront ravis d'en avoir, ils ne sont pas très riches, et pas de Sé sociale.
Prends des polyvitamines, surtout àbase de B, les moustiques n'aiment pas non plus l'odeur dégagée par la peau.

Moi je me fais piquer plusieurs fois par jour et tous les jours et alors !!! je ne suis pas malade et je n'habite pas dans un hotel 4 ou 5 etoiles a Punta cana ou ailleurs, j'habite dans un barrio ou je suis le seul blanc donc les conditions d'hygiene sont absolument differentes de ce que vous allez connaitre en milieu aseptisé comme les hotels... Alors pas de panique (mais ce sont toujours nos amis quebequois qui se mettent la pression.... 😉🙂)
viens tranquille et pense plus au cas ou ...... a un repulsif et a une creme calmante en cas de piqure mais avec ce qu'ils deversent comme ani moustique dans les hotels tu peux etre tranquille.... Ce n'est pas Jurassic Park la RD

Mais quand le traitement ne coûte pas plus cher qu'une bouteille d'acétaminophène, je pense que ça ne vaut pas la peine de s'en passer.
Tout dépend de ta façon de voir les choses, dans mon cas, je n'aime pas avoir à dire "j'aurais donc dû"

Il n'est pas inutile de temps à autre de rappeler que le risque 0 n'existe pas en République Dominicaine en matière de paludisme.
Je suis québécoise et je voyage en RP à chaque année. Je suis infirmière et suis contre les maudits vaccins qui nous contaminent avec les métaux lourds qu'ils mettent dedans comme l'aluminium et le mercure afin de stabiliser le vaccin nous dit-on.
Aussi, le médoc que vous prenez contre le paludisme ne vous protège pas contre celui-ci mais ne fait que retarder l'apparition de la maladie...malheureusement, c'est le seul choix que nous ayons.
Conclusion, nous choisissons...hygiène maximalisée ou...risque d'être porteur à vie de métaux lourds avec toutes les conséquences que ceux-ci ont sur la santé des gens...à vous de juger.😛
P.S. Je crois qu'en France vous n'avez plus d'aluminium dans les vaccins...ça reste à voir...😇

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
