Nous avons fait notre Road-Trip dans l'Ouest des Etats Unis en Septembre 2018. Nous étions un groupe de 7 motos avec un accompagnateurs Ben vouiiiiiii vu qu'on était déja 5 couples de copains on a choisi la facilité en prenant un circuit clés en main et accompagné pour découvrir le terrain....... On ne regrette absolument pas, car nous avons eu un guide accompagnateur exceptionnel, on a profité de ses connaissances a 1000% Il faut dire que nous appréhendions tous, vraiment ce "nouveau monde" et et et ......... et bien on veut repartir
Repartir, mais pas en groupe cette fois ci en autonomie on serait seul mon mari et moi..... à moins que, mon frère et sa compagne viennent avec nous mais pour le moment c'est peu probable, donc on va preparer pour 2 sur une seule moto comme des grands
Donc on veut attaquer la Mother Road la belle 66 .......
Ben comme d'hab c'est pas simple ! Maintenant on saura se débrouiller pour prendre de l'essence, pour trouver un resto, pour payer en rajoutant taxes et pourboire, pour être à l'aise avec les consignes du code de la route et les règlements des parcs (pas évident quand on débarque pour la 1ère fois c'est la que notre guide à vraiment été un bon choix pour nous)
L'idée, est de partir 20 jours environ
On voudrait commencer le périple à Milwaukee et une bonne envie d'aller faire un tour du coté du lac Powell qu'on a pas vu en Septembre 2018
Location de moto chez Eagle (il semble qu'ils soient incontournable) ensuite la question est l’hébergement, et surtout, le parcours idéal à suivre et ou faire le détour pour trouver le trésor caché ........
On a envie de découvrir l'esprit de la Route 66, voir redécouvrir car nous l'avons suivi en partie a partir de L.A. et on a été charmé, envoûté (j'ai pleuré a chaude larmes en arrivant à Bagdad Café 😊 rien que d'y repenser mes yeux sont humide 🙂 😇
Quel a été votre circuit? Quel a été votre solution pour la location de moto? et pour les réservations d’hôtel ?

Hello merci de m'avoir répondu aussi vite. Je ne sais pas pour San Francisco on serait plus tenter de faire des étapes plus courte pour profiter de l’ambiance locale SF nous y avons passé 2 jours lors de notre précédent voyage comme Las Vegas on est pas trop tenté pour le moment mais pourquoi pas.

Sur 20 jours, je ferais une boucle Phoenix-Phoenix en passant par Phoenix, Tucscon, El Paso, White Sand, Albuquerque, Santa Fe puis retour via l'Arizona en passant par la route 66.
Ou une version qui débute à L.A et qui revient à L.A.
Mais la version complète, il faudrait rajouter des jours.

J10: Tucumcari > Albuquerque (Pause le midi au 66 diner) puis route vers Santa Fe via la route de la turquoise (NM14). Nuit sur Santa Fe
J11: Santa Fe > Durango via Abiquiú (Plaza Blanca + Ghost ranch). Nuit sur Durango
J12: Bluff, Mexican Hat, Valley of the Gods, Monument Valley. Nuit à Kayenta
J13: Page (Lake Powell)
J14: Page > Canyon de Chelly. Nuit à Window Rock ou Gallup.
J15: Hubbell Trading Post NHS > Flagstaff > Sedona. Nuit sur Sedona ou Cottonwood.
J16: Cottonwood > Seligman > Hackberry > Kingman
Les routes vers Durango sont vraiment sympa et j'aurais apprécié avoir une moto à cette endroit, ainsi qu'après Cottonwood.
A vous de voir, vous perdez un bout de route 66 entre Albuquerque et Gallup mais la portion est profondément inintéressante (majoritairement de la l'i40).
😉 Bah je trouve que justement on a pas tant de Miles que ça par jour en comparaison a notre Road Trip de Septembre dernier dans l'ouest en faisant les grand parc en visitant pas mal en prenant le temps de s'arreter dans les points imteresant a voir ..... On partait chaque jour sur le coup de 7h au plus tard 8h et on arrivait à 19h certe on a pas profité des piscines de hotels, mais c'était pas non plus notre attente. On a vraiment pas souffert on a fait une moyenne de 250 miles sur 16 jours dont 3 jours a plus de 350 miles...... du coup même pas peur
A vrai dire on est pas trop musée et tutti quanti, on veux rouler 😎 😛 faire la route, s'accrocher au guidon, et bien entendu s'arreter dans les points d’intérêt et quand on aura envie ....... On dégrossi et plus tard on reviendra pour peaufiner nos découvertes

Chacun à son rythme et ses goûts vous avez raison.
Je suis beaucoup musée et découverte des petites villes et villages en marchant. J'adore aussi rouler en voiture.
Je roule en moyenne 2 heures et je visite 6 heures.
J'ai par contre la chance d'aller 2 fois l'an aux É-U, ce n'est pas aussi loin pour moi que pour vous.
Le vol est trop important dans un voyage pour ne regarder que le prix.
En bécane , on a la chance de ne pas voir passer les milles , donc aucun problème de rouler et de s’arrêter quant on veux 😎
Tu arriveras par la 66 , enfin se qu'il en reste le long de la I40 , Tacumcari , Santa rosa , Edgewood et arrivé à Cedar Crest , prenez la Turquoise Trail highway 14 jusqu'à Santa Fé Vous passerez, par Madrid célèbre par le film Bande de sauvage , il faut absolument rentrer dans le bar boire un verre LOL
Nous avions fait une pose de deux nuits à Santa Fé , 1 journée complète à Santa Fé , ensuite je vous conseille de prendre la route vers TAOS (Nord /Est) où la Highway 84 (comme le dit notre Bladkaizer en passant par la Abiquiu Dam , sur la Rio Chama, et la Ghost ranch😉) jusqu'à Chama , j'ai adore les paysages vert et montagneux 😎

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.
I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

Hi, I’d like to take a 15-day "break" to get away from the surrounding hustle and bustle.
Why not explore the Peloponnese!
I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

I’m looking for info on shipping my vehicle by sea—possibly to Uruguay or another destination, as I haven’t finalized anything yet.
How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?
Where can I get vehicle insurance?
Lastly, if any bikers want to join us (my partner and me), we’re open to that possibility too.

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

Next October we’re planning to ride the Ruta de la Plata by motorcycle—a historic Spanish route that runs from Gijón to Seville, also known as the N630.
Has anyone here already ridden it?
Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
