mon avion atterrit à Phuket à 13h35 et j'aurai aimé partir tout de suite sur Ko Phi Phi plutot que de perdre une journée sur Phuket. Mais lorsque je regarde les horaires des ferrys, il semble que le dernier parte à 14h30. Quelqu'un a t'il une idée du temps qu'il me faudra en taxi pour rejoindre le port car il semble qu'il faille 1h15 en bus. Et avez vous une idée du prix que cela peut me coûter?

L'horaire du dernier bato (Pichamon) a changé. Il part à 15 heures. mais avec un atterrissage à 13 H 35, ça reste juste, le temps de récupérer les bagages. Taxi : dans les 600 bahts environ. Acheter le billet de bato à l'aéroport (au port, c'est plus cher).

tout d'abord merci à vous 2 pour vos réponses. Et si je n'ai pas de bagages en soute à récupérer tu penses que c'est jouable ou pas? D'ailleurs sais tu s'il y a une limite de poids pour le bagage cabine des vols nationaux: je pense partir avec un sac à dos 60L (environ 10kg) donc 80cm de long et 40 cm de large à vue d'oeil. De plus quand j'achète le billet pour le bateau à l'aéroport, ce billet est daté? (= si je rate le bateau en arrivant, est ce que je peux l'utiliser le lendemain?)

A mon avis même sans bagages à récupérer avec le départ à 14h30 quasi mission impossible , le temps de descendre de l'avion ça fait du temps et surtout trouver un taxi de suite . Mais comme Henridusud dit départ à 15 heures du bateau là tu as une toute petite chance si tout se déroule bien .

De plus, si je ne peux pas partir le jour même pour Ko Phi Phi que me conseilles tu question hébergement: mieux vaut il à t'on avis rester près de l'aéroport et le lendemain prendre le bus tranquille pour le port ou aller directement me trouver un hébergement sur Phuket town?
Pour le billet il est sur que tu payeras plus cher au port , donc l'acheter dans n'importe quelle agence de voyage avec le transfert compris depuis ton hôtel ou que tu seras .
Oui tu peux par exemple aller à Naï Yang beach , très belle plage près de l'aéroport 3 Km . Ou aller à Phuket Town direct et loger là-bas c'est sympa aussi Phuket Town .

en fait je viens de regarder les horaires des bus de l'aéroport vers phuket : le 1er bus arrive à 10h20 et le 1er ferry part à 8h30... donc je vais devoir dormir sur Phuket town afin de ne pas perdre en plus mon après midi en faisant un trajet ferry et voir si je peux plonger sur Ko Phi Phi l'après midi. As tu une bonne adresse à me conseiller sur Phuket style joli, pas cher et pas loin du port (et d'une plage correcte)?

Je suis tout a fait d'accord avec toi en ce qui concerne Nai Harn beach qui est tres sympa. Par contre je suis moins d'accord de proposer ca a Marianne en fonction de son programme. Je trouve ca un peu complique de descendre jusqu'a Nai Harn pour le lendemaim matin remonter vers Phuket town.

Ce que je conseillerai (meme si je ne detiens pas la verite absolue 🙂 ) ce serait de prendre un taxi et de te faire deposer a Phuket town, dans la vieille ville. La tu vas trouver plein de petites guesthouses sympas et pas cheres. Tu pourras aussi te promener dans le vieux Phuket, et acheter ton billet pour Phi Phi. Si tu arrives un samedi ou un dimanche, tu pourras meme profiter du week-end market. 🙂 Le soir si tu veux te faire plaisir, il y a un bon resto tenu par 2 soeurs francaises, situe dans une vieille maison sino portugaise dans la vieille ville, le Siam Indigo.

Effectivement, depuis hier j'ai eu le temps de cogiter tout ça et de regarder sur d'autres post les temps de trajets, regarder les tarifs, les itinéraires... et même si j'ai vu la beauté de cette plage (car j'ai pas résisté à cette envie de jeter un oeil!) qui me tente bien ça me semblait un peu courir dans tous les sens et surtout me faire me lever très tôt si je veux un petit déj' avant de prendre le premier ferry. En plus j'aurais déjà fait le nord un peu à la course entre vélo-bus- train-avion etc donc j'ai envie de calmer le jeu pour la 2ème partie du séjour. De plus je me dis qu'après je vais passer 4 jours sur Ko Phi Phi et aurais largement le temps de profiter de la plage et la mer. Par contre je garde l'option de cette jolie plage pour le retour car je pense prendre le premier ferry de Ko Phi Phi vers Phuket donc arriver vers 11h et mon avion ne décolle qu'à 21h ... donc de quoi faire un petit tour peut être là bas... à moins que vous ne pensiez que ça fait quand même un peu compliqué dans l'organisation dans quel cas j'irai sur la plage à côté de l'aéroport. J'ai lu qu'elle était pas trop mal... qu'est ce qui vous semble le mieux?
De plus, avez vous une idée ou un conseil sur le choix d'un logement à Phuket Town? version pas trop cher mais propre (et joli 😊 ( et oui je suis une fille quand même)) , pas loin de l'embarcadère?

Il n'y a rien vers l'embarcadere, et surtout rien a y faire.
Va dans le vieux Phuket, tu y trouveras plein de GH sympas, jolies, pas cheres. Je n'ai pas de nom a te donner, car habitant Patong, je ne vais jamais dormir a Phuket town. 😉 Reste dans la vieille ville, c'est tres sympa.
Pour les plages a ton retour, les 2 que t'a conseille Barbot sont tres bien, Nai Yang vers l'aeroport ou Nai Harn au sud de l'ile. A Nai Harn, y'a pleins de petits restos sympas le long de la plage ou tu peux manger les pieds dans le sable. 🙂 Il y a aussi des douches (10 baht dans mon souvenir), bien pratique avant de reprendre un vol.
Bonne idée pour la douche car reprendre l'avion version poisseux et salé c'est pas le top!

Si tu veux etre en plein coeur de Phuket town, demande a ce que l on te depose dans le quartier Thalang Road, Dibuk Road et Soy Rommanee. c est le coin le plus typique du vieux Phuket. il y a des petites Guesthouse qui ont l air sympa. En me baladant dans le quartier, j en ai repere une qui est soy Rommanee, toute neuve, 3 chambres par contre.... pas vraiment chere en ce moment de l annee je te joins une photo en pj ainsi que une photo du soy Romanee. Par contre je sais pas s il vaut mieux reserver ou non vu le nombre de chambres.. ( Je precise que ce n est pas ma Guesthouse et que ceci est juste pour te guider dans ta recherche d un endroit sympa.....)
Effectivement c'est super joli. De toute façon je ne vais pas réserver cette nuit: soit j'ai de la chance et c'est la nuit à Ko phi phi soit j'ai pas la chance d'attraper le ferry et j'aurais alors la chance de découvrir le vieux Phuket et cette jolie guest house. Merci pour tes conseils.

finalement j'ai du me résoudre à passer une nuit à Phuket ...les taxis vous attendent avec impatience à l'aéroport et vous n'aurez pas de soucis pour un trouver un. Ils prennent entre 20 et 30E. Par contre je ne sais pas si les billets sont valables d'un jour sur l'autre. Par contre, pour le retour ne faites pas comme moi: je m'étais dit que j'allais partir tôt de Koh Phi phi et attendre sur l'une des belles plages à côté de l'aéroport (à 5 min selon les dires d'un internaute). Cependant arrivée à l'aéroport, j'ai cherché un taxi pour m'y amener mais ils me réclamaient autant que pour Phuket Town alors que la palge est à 5 minutes contre plus d'une heure...j'ai donc passer ma journée entière à l'aéroport 😕... donc ne vous faites pas avoir comme moi et profitez de la dernière journée sur les îles.

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. For those familiar with SOUTHEAST ASIA, I'm planning to leave in mid-June (with the trip ending at the latest in November), and I don’t have a precise idea of exact places or itineraries yet. The thing is, this period is usually the rainy season...
Any advice? I was thinking of Malaysia or Indonesia, like Sulawesi, for example (all countries and islands in Southeast Asia interest me except Bali).
Any recommendations? I’m doing my research online, but if anyone here has the time and knowledge, I’d love to hear from you.
My partner and I are planning a trip to Indonesia in September-October 2026.
