Nous devons arriver le 13/11 pour notre Voyage de Noces et nous hésitons à annuler ou tout reporter sur Phuket ...
(désolée car cette question peut paraitre en même temps très égoïste vis à vis de tous les habitants qui vivent ce calvaire)
D'un côté il y a les média qui annoncent de terribles nouvelles (est ce valable pour le centre de BKK ?)
et également de terribles images pour les habitants...
Y a t il une chance d'amélioration d'ici 3 semaines ? Car le ministre annonce 4 à 6 semaines.
De plus l'OMS annonce des risques forts d'épidémies ...
Nous aimerions vraiment bcp aller à BKK mais en étant sûrs de ne pas avoir 1m d'eau pour notre VDN on peut rêver mieux ...

Je suis dans la même situation que toi, nous partons en voyage de noces avec mon mari du 05/11 au 22/11, circuit au départ de Bangkok vers le nord, puis 5 jours à Koh Phi Phi, nous sommes très inquiets au vue de la situation et hésitons à annuler notre voyage.

J'etais à Bangkok hier et pour l'instant, le centre n'est pas inondé.
L'eau du fleuve Chao Praya à bien monté mais ne déborde presque pas. Aucune gène pour visiter les temples. Par contre éviter le nord de Bangkok qui est sous les eaux.
Tous les habitants et les magasins montent des murs de béton ou de sac à sable devant chez eux en prévision.
Je pense que d'ici mi novembre, ca ira beaucoup mieux.
J'etais aussi à Phuket et la bas, tout est normal.
Suite aux inondations en Thailande et aux différentes informations de nos receptifs, nous suivons la situation locale au quotidien.
Le CETO (Association de Tour-Opérateurs dont NF fait partie) considère que les conditions opérationnelles restent réunies pour continuer la programmation des destinations touristiques en THAILANDE.
Le MAEE (Ministère des Affaires Etrangères français) ne déconseille pas la destination.
A ce jour nous maintenons donc tous nos départs de circuits.
- Seule la région d'Ayutthaya ne peut pas être visitée. La visite du site d’Ayuthaya est remplacée par la visite des sites de la ville Suphanburi et de Singburi.
- Le centre ville de Bangkok : afin de drainer la masse d'eau du nord par les canaux de plusieurs districts de l'Est de la capitale, le gouvernement thai a fait ouvrir les écluses de la ville pour permettre à l'eau accumulée au Nord de BKK de s'évacuer vers la mer. Certains districts à l'Est et au Nord de BKK sont concernés, et peuvent courir un risque d' inondation mais pas les zones des sites touristiques.
Les visites s'effectuent normalement pour les touristes et les résidents mènent leur quotidien de façon normale.
Seule la zone industrielle au nord de Bangkok est réellement concernée par les inondations.
- L'aéroport international de Bangkok - Suvarnabhumi opère normalement - seul l'aéroport national Dong Mueang est touché.
- Les autres régions : Suphanburi, Phitsanulok , Sukhothai , Lampang , Chiang Mai , Chiang Rai où passent la plupart de nos circuits ne sont pas inondées et sont donc opérationnelles ainsi que les régions balnéaires de Phuket, Khao Lak, Pattaya, Krabi, Koh Samui
Pour les clients sur place : nous réaménageons les itinéraires en cas de nécessité (y compris les moyens de transport) afin de contourner les zones inondées. Un trajet en train de nuit pourra être remplacé par un trajet en bus et une nuit en cours de route. Lundi 24/10 les trains refonctionnent.
Pour les clients partants : nous maintenons les circuits avec des changements d'itinéraires si besoin. Ces décisions sont prises sur place par nos prestataires en fonction des routes et régions traversées.

Des infos du jour concernant Bangkok : le centre ( donc les lieux touristiques, centres commerciaux ) est complètement sec. Les inondations sont au nord, au niveau de l'ancien aéroport de Don Muang. Tout fonctionne, y compris le métro souterrain. Et surprise, circulation très fluide , en lieu et place des embouteillages habituels. Les habitants ont garés leur voiture dans les étages des parkings des centres commerciaux et autres, et n'y touchent plus pour ne pas perdre leur place ! Ce qui a donné des idées à pas mal de voleurs qui ont fracturé de nombreux véhicules en toute tranquillité...

Après nous allons faire nos touristes alors que le population vit un drame autour à qques km .. Perso un peu dur à accepter mais d'un autre côté VDN ...
Je pense que la décision est propre à chacun, et en fonction du contenu de nos voyages (ex pour nous 4 nuits à BKK puis 7 nuits à Phuket), pour nous on peut éviter de sortir du centre, un peu dommage mais faisable, ... par contre ceux qui ont un circuit ... Un peu difficile.
J'attends encore des infos d'amis sur place. mais celles que je viens d'avoir me disent plutôt que cela va empirer (5 jours de congés pour tout le monde à partir de demain pour se mettre à l'abri car cela va atteindre le centre ...)

Just a brief report from my Bangkok trip on 21-24 Oct.
I was staying in Sukhumvit and it was sunny the whole trip. As i was only in central Bangkok, it was pretty dry. I went to the Grand Palace and surrounding areas, Chatucak market, etc. But hotels, malls and most buildings already had sandbags around the buildings and some even built a wall in front.
Just hope things will be normal again soon, but i am glad i decided to go as it's my first time. I know people in central Bangkok are expecting big flood in 2-3 days, i hope they can manage.

Toujours le beau temps, ce qui au moins n'aggrave pas la situation. Toujours sec au centre et sud de Bangkok, les quartiers nord étant sous l'eau. Une inquiétude pour ce week-end avec les marées à fort coefficient qui feront certainement déborder le fleuve à marée haute durant 3 jours, et inondations des quartiers en bordure. Après il devrait reprendre un cours normal.
Toujours des tentatives et des projets pour dévier l'eau vers les canaux de l'est.

Le centre de Bangkok est toujours au sec. Rien de changé. La partie inondée reste au nord de Chatuchak.
De même sec pour Samutprakan ( pour les visites de Crocodile Farm, Ancient City ( Muan Boran ), Chang Erawan.
D'ailleurs ce soir la circulation, et donc les embouteillages, ont repris ! Si les habitants ressortent les voitures des parkings, il y a de l'espoir.

Même ici les nouvelles sont assez contradictoires, le nord de bangkok est inondé mais il n'y a rien dans le quartier des affaires et dans le centre ville.
Tout est ouvert dans ces 2 quartiers et le shopping tourne à plein régime :))
Chinatown est inondée selon les heures de la journée, au max 10 cm d'eau
Par contre ça barde dans le nord , les gens sont pas content du gouvernement.
On a pu faire la majorité des sites touristiques sans problèmes, voir avec aucun touriste ( c'est top tu as le musée ou un site pour toi tout seul ).
Les visites en bateaux et bateaux bus sur les rives de la tchao-praya reprennent le 7, donc ça devrais être bon.
Le vieux quartier français-Portugais est inondé selon les heures de la journée.
Pour les digues je vais me renseigner
des que j'ai des nouvelles je vous tiens au courant.

Cependant des amis m'ont fait peur ce matin en me disant qu'il y a des risques de maladies... qu'il faudrait me faire vacciner contre la malaria, la dengue (humidité donc beaucoup plus de moustiques...), etc

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.

We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

I’ve planned a trip to Asia for the first half of November.
I’ll arrive in Singapore at the start of November for about 3 days, and I’ll leave from Bangkok in mid-November.
In between, I’d like to gradually head north to visit some less touristy islands on the Thai coast.
Since the weather is a big risk during this period, I’d love to hear your recommendations.

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊

Hello, We’re heading to Finnish Lapland near Rovaniemi as a family at the end of February with two kids (8 and 14 years old). We’ve got direct flights with Luxairstours. The itinerary is already set, but I’m wondering if anyone has traveled with Luxair before and knows exactly what kind of clothes they provide on the second day? The agency just told me it’s a heavy-duty cold-weather suit. I’m thinking we should get Sorel Caribou boots, maybe second-hand. Here’s what I’ve already planned:
- Thermolactyl leggings and tights from Damart for the whole family as a base layer.
- A first layer of Damart socks + Nordic Stocks socks in 70% merino wool for all four of us.
- Loose fleece layers, including some Polartec.
- Ski pants for hikes.
- For my son and me, a The North Face Himalayan down parka with a hood.
- A ski parka for my husband and my 14-year-old daughter (she *really* wants a Roxy one—I hope it’ll be warm enough).
- For myself, for the flight and the first day at Santa’s village, I’ve packed The North Face winter hiking pants, a long-sleeve merino wool top from Decathlon (thin), a fleece, and my big parka.
I’m wondering if I should just pack fleece joggers or sweatpants for the kids and my husband, at least for the first and last days, to be comfortable on the plane?
I’m also planning to buy balaclavas and neck warmers in addition to our beanies, as well as mittens for all of us. I really need advice because I have no idea—I’ve never been skiing! Also, for a 4-night, 5-day trip, should I pack a second set of base layers, like from Odlo?
Of course, I’ll be leaving cotton clothes out of the suitcase.
As you can tell, I’m someone who gets cold easily—especially my feet, hands, and ears—so that’s my biggest worry. I *don’t* want to be cold, even at -20°C during dog sledding, snowmobiling, or aurora hunting when we might be standing still. We won’t be in the city, and the kids will likely spend most of their time outside, as they usually do.
