Toyota BJ ou HZJ? (urgent)

Quelqu'un d'entre vous pourrait m'éclaircir sur les différence et la fiabilité de ces deux moteurs.
Pourquoi une telle différence de prix ?
Je suis sur un bj 75 de 220000km de 1988, carrosserie repeinte à 6000 € et à côté, un hzj 78 de 80000 km de 2001 à 18200 €.
C'est pour bourlinguer dans le monde, pas pour tirer une remorque de 6T.

Les HZJ 79 sont surcôtés car c'est la rareté qui en fait le prix. Je recherche un 79 depuis le début d'année pour lui monter une cellule et je suis toujours dans le flou. Pour l'occasion c'est du n'importe quoi, on trouve du 150000km pour 36000€, de quoi partir en courant. Pour le neuf alors là c'est plus que du n'importe quoi puisque l'importation passe par un équipement Euro4 obligatoire et que l'ensemble se vend entre 46000 et 56000€ sans être certain d'avoir l'homologation (DRIRE en France, passage obligatoire aux mines). Bonne chance dans tes recherches, moi c'est aussi pour un TDM à partir de fin 2010 et retour......?

Le BJ75 est le premier fourgon de la "Série-7" commercialisé en 1985. Suspensions à lames et moteur Diesel 4 cylindres de 3, 4 l. Sur la piste, ce modéle a toutes les qualités intrinséques de la gamme 75. Sur la route et encore plus sur l'autoroute, la puissance limitée du moteur (90 Cv) rend les côtes ...fastidieuses. Le montage d'un turbo augmente considérablement le couple à bas régime, la puissance passe à 110-120Cv et la solidité ne semble pas altérée...si le pilote sait rester raisonnable. Autre défaut, une résistance moyenne à la corrosion. En bon état, c'est une excellente base pour voyager loin.
A ce kilométrage, il est recommandé de remplacer l'arbre intermédiaire de boîte transfert.
Le HZJ 75 est un BJ75 équipé d'un moteur 4, 2l Diesel 6 cylindres de 130 Cv.
Le HZJ 78 est un HZJ75 équipé de suspension avant à ressort hélicoïdaux. Plus confortable, plus complexe et...plus délicat.

Les vieux (TOY) dinosaures qu'il nous reste reste des valeurs sures !! ces véhicules ont fait leurs preuves d'endurances et de longévités !! pas d'électronique, facilité de réparation dans certain pays comme l'Afrique ETC .. J'ai bien un HJ61 de 1988 ( 20ans) + de 500.000kms et je retourne tout les ans en Afrique aller/R pour lui faire avaler de la poussiere sur 20.000 kms en 3 mois 1/2 Cordialement de

ça dépends de ton budget, je dirais que le BJ si il est en bon état mécanique et carrosserie (attention a la corrosion cachée par une peinture neuve) donc est a son prix. Le HZJ si vraiment il a 80.000kms et est en bon état, si en plus c'est une version Afrique avec les 2 réservoirs, le schnorkel etc. n'est pas trés cher, mais attention carte grise bien souvent en 2 places.au niveau moteur les 2 sont bien, endurants solides, faciles a dépanner, le 4.2l est le moteur que l'on rencontre partout en Afrique et connu de tous les mécanos, a 80Mkms il sort a peine du rodage.Si je devais choisir je prendrais le 78 .J'en ai eu un

Comme Lesconse, attention à la carosserie sur les BJ ....carosserie repeinte c'est bien souvent poru cacher des vis cachés justement😉, inspecte bien au niveau des abs de caisse et les interieurs des ailes et passages de roues à la'arriere (interieur come ext).
Pour le HZ c'est une affaire convenale semble t'il car ce véhicule est peut etre un de splus adaptes aux grandes traversees africaines et au raid en general, tres robuste, tres fiable, tres simple de mecanique, bref un vrai compagnon de voyage fidele comme tu as l'air d'en chercher un, seul petit hic... le kilometrage me semble faible pour ce genre de véhicule eu egard à l'annee.

Je suis en contact avec Alain, le patron de FOXI depuis déjà pas mal de temps et il est vrai qu'il a pas mal de TOY dans sa cour, mais pas de 79 pour moi, bien dommage.
Il regarde sur l'Allemagne pour en trouver un, j'ose espérer qu'il va y parvenir car autrement je prendrais un Def130, oui je sais cela n'a rien à voir mais il reste une valeur certaine pour une cellule sur le dos sur un TDM.
En tout cas FOXI reste un des meilleurs garages pour l'achat d'un TOY, d'ailleurs sa devise est "Tant qu'il y aura des TOY" 😉

je vois qu'une ribambelle de spécialistes ont répondu, ça donne une idée plus précise aux néophytes.
Pour ma part je rajouterai mon expérience du voyage en BJ75 en Afrique et actuellement en PZJ 75 en Amérique du sud.
Trés trés difficile d'expertiser un BJ, PZJ, HZJ, faut vraiment bien connaitre, car à 80000 ou 200000 on ne vois pas trop la différence, sauf si on ouvre la boite de transfert, je m'entend pour un véhicule propre en apparence . Il y a un modèle mal aimé, le PZJ, c'est le moteur du 6 cyl mais avec 5 pour 3.5 litres, moins cher, quoique ?
Le seul probléme du bestiau est son volant moteur, que l'on appelle bi masse, qui comporte pas moins d'une trentaine de piéces, un truc qui fait du bruit et qui lache entre 125000 km et 250000. Personellement, ne trouvant pas de HZJ pick up à un prix raisonnable, jamais en dessous de 12000 euros pour 300000 kms, j'ai acheté un pick up PZ pour 8000 et y ai modifié le volant moteur avec celui d'un HZJ ou HDJ80/12S un embrayage et butée de 78/79 + 3 rondelles sous la butée de fourchette, il y a des kits d'adaptation chez certains pro à prix raisonnable ???
Attention en on trouve du toy partout, en afrique, mais ici en amérique du sud, c'est loin d'étre le cas, il y a en bolivie pérou vénézuela chili uruguay, principalement des moteurs essence, et piéces sont souvent de l'adaptable japonnais, piéces moteurs rare donc dans ces pays pour le diesel.
Le BJ manque cruellement de puissance quand il est chargé et en cote, mais faut pas croire que c'est mieux avec un PZ ou HZ, tous sont des moteurs atmo, donc conduite se rapprochant du camion dans les cotes. Bien sur un 78/79 neuf ou vide.....mais entre un BJ à 6000 euros et à plus de 30000 un 78/79

Merci mais je connais pas trop mal Arnaud-Delmas et j'ai failli lui en prendre un au mois de juin mais voilà si tu n'as pas regardé les photos sur un autre post, j'ai trouvé ce qu'il me faut. Et je suis super satisfait de mon ensemble de 2002, acheté d'occasion à Toulouse en juin de cette année 😎. Il est pratiquement neuf, n'a fait que des pistes sans souffrance au Maroc et va me conduire en TDM très bientôt.

I’m looking for the start of a trail in the Picos de Europa in Spain that I used over 30 years ago in a 4x4.
It began by passing under a house, and there was a café nearby.
I know it’s not much to go on, but that’s all I’ve got. The fact that the trail started by going under a house isn’t exactly common!
If anyone has any ideas, I’d really appreciate it.

We’re planning a 4x4 trip from Belgium to Central Asia, passing through Georgia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
For these countries, our national insurance obviously doesn’t cover the vehicle, so we’ll need to get local insurance.
Will it be a problem if the vehicle is registered under person A and the national insurance is under person B? Both A and B will be in the vehicle, and both will be listed as drivers on the insurance.
When we get the local insurance, if we again list A and B as drivers, does the order matter? Could we get stuck at the border for this reason?

For those who’ve driven on Iceland’s gravel roads in their own or a rented Duster, could you tell me what tires were fitted on the vehicle?
Were they All Terrain tires or more "standard" ones like all-season tires, for example?

I'd like to know if I need to book overnight stops in advance or if I can just wing it and stop wherever I feel like it?

We’ll also have the option to sleep in the car without pitching the tent. Does that give us the flexibility to stay outside a campsite for a night here and there?

I’m looking for detailed maps of this region that include small roads and tracks.
Last year, we had a fantastic road trip in the Anti-Atlas and High Atlas using Erfahren maps, but unfortunately, they don’t cover the area we’re interested in this year.

Marrakech → Ouarzazate → Draa Valley → Zagora → Erg Chegaga → Lake Iriki → Foum Zguid → Tata → Tafraoute → Aït Mansour → Tiznit → Mirleft → Taroudant → Back to Marrakech
Our goal:
Atlas Mountains + desert + dunes + plateaus + valleys + a bit of coastline. We’ll cover about 1,700 km in total.
We’re planning:
Bivouacking in the Chegaga/Iriki area Flexible for the rest (booking the day before or same day) Sand gear: traction plates, compressor, tow strap, roof rack
Questions:
Is the Zagora → Chegaga → Iriki → Foum Zguid crossing in July doable on our own (single vehicle, no guide)? Are there any truly technical or risky sections between Chegaga and Iriki? Does the overall itinerary seem manageable in 13 days without rushing? Any suggestions for great bivouac spots or particularly interesting stops along this route? The points on the route are provisional overnight stops. Some spots will include two nights in the same area.

My son and I are heading to Georgia this summer to explore the High Caucasus (Svaneti, Kazbek, and Tusheti regions). For this, we’re planning to rent a 4x4. However, the rental agencies we’ve found prohibit driving on the tracks to Omalo (Tusheti) and/or Ushguli (Svaneti). My son and I are heading to Georgia this summer to explore the High Caucasus (Svaneti, Kazbek, and Tusheti regions). For this, we’re planning to rent a 4x4. However, the rental agencies we’ve found prohibit driving on the tracks to Omalo (Tusheti) and/or Ushguli (Svaneti). Do you know of any agencies in Tbilisi (local and reliable) that allow rented 4x4s to drive on these tracks? If so, which ones?

I’m starting to plan an itinerary for September 2027 focused on Zimbabwe and Zambia. I’d love to visit Gonarezhou National Park—I see there are two sectors: the Mwenezi Region in the south and the area around the Runde River in the north. Should I cover both sectors or just focus on the northern region?
For the parks along the Zambezi River, is it better to visit Mana Pools on the Zimbabwe side or Lower Zambezi on the Zambia side?

A well-prepped 4x4, a travel plan across Africa in stages since I’ve got kids to see regularly and work to earn a living.
I’m leaving in November for about a month with the goal of reaching Senegal via Mauritania. I’d love to share this trip with someone who wants to discover Mauritania and a bit of Senegal... and also experience life on board a 4x4 in the desert or bush, sometimes sleeping in the vehicle or in hostels/small hotels for comfort. I want to share this rediscovery because two’s better than one!

Could anyone tell me if the local diesel is suitable for its engine, or if I need to take any special precautions (like adding an additive, for example) for these countries? I’d also like to know if driving at high altitudes is possible, and up to what elevation—or if I should worry about the vehicle going into limp mode? If that happens, what should I do?

My trip to South Africa is starting to take shape.
However, I'm struggling to figure out the route through Kruger Park. I can't seem to find the information I need about getting around.
Coming from the south, I plan to arrive on Day 1 in the early afternoon at Malelane or Crocodile Bridge.
Do some shopping in Malelane (or Crocodile Bridge main area) and stay overnight outside the park.
Leave on Day 2 at 5 AM for the park. Explore the southern part of the park.
Stay overnight around Skukuza or Lower Sabie. (We don’t want to stay in one of the park’s big camps. We’re looking for a lodge around 200 €.
Head out on Day 3 for a self-drive safari, maybe as far as Orpen.
We’d like to stay in a private reserve on nights 4 and 5.
We’re not sure which one or how to get into a private reserve. Do we need to exit Kruger Park?
On Day 5, we’d like to leave to visit Blyde Canyon (on Day 6).
Could you help us with these different locations?

Does anyone know of people or companies that handle long-term parking (preferably secure) in either place? Once the car is parked, what’s the best way to get back to France using public transport? Is the nearest airport Tanger from Ceuta?... How do I get there easily, etc. etc.

Is the drive doable with a good 4x4 in a day? We’ll spend 2 nights in Khwai, then 2 or maybe 3 nights in the Moremi area (Third Bridge/Xakanaxa/Mboma) before heading back to Maun to wrap up our journey. Is that too much time to spend in each place?
We’d also like to do one or two boat excursions in the delta. Any suggestions for the best options and operators?

I’m planning to explore the western part of Madagascar from May 1st to 5th, specifically to visit the Tsingy. I’ve heard different versions about the road conditions and access to the Tsingy during this time, so I’d love to hear from people who’ve actually made this trip during this time of year.
Have you traveled from Morondava → Tsingy between May 1st and 5th? Was the journey doable and safe? Did you have access to the Grands Tsingy, or just the Petits Tsingy?
