Je souhaite partir mi-septembre en Egypte, une dizaine de jours. J'arriverais à priori à l’aéroport d'Hurghada et de là je souhaiterais me rendre au Caire. Puis après quelques jours, à Alexandrie.
De ce que j'ai compris il n'y a pas de train d'Hurgada au Caire, mais des bus. Et il y aurait 2 catégories :
_bus en convois, apparemment pour touristes, sous escorte = cher.
_bus "normaux", pour les locaux = moins cher.
Je souhaiterais bien évidement prendre les bus "normaux" avec les locaux, et aussi payer moins cher.
Pouvez me preciser dans un premier temps, si il existe en effet des bus (ou peut être un train) entre Hurghada>le Caire>Alexandrie?
Puis-je, entant que touriste, prendre un bus "normal" comme le ferait un Egyptien?
Savez vous si ces transports (pour les 2 destinations) sont quotidiens, ou seulement quelques jours par semaine? une idée du tarif (sur les 2 trajets)?
Si arriver à Hurghada, n'est pas idéal pour rejoindre le Caire en transport en commun, je peux aussi arriver à Charm El Sheik. Mais est-ce préférable pour prendre un bus en direction du Caire?
Je souhaiterais, dans tout les cas sortir du pays par Alexandrie d'ou partira mon vol pour Dubai. Pouvez-vous me confirmer qu'il n'y à pas de problème dans le fait d'entrer et de repartir par deux aéroports différents?
Un avis sur le risque d'annulation de vol à cause de possibles manifestations (faisant suite à la révolution) durant cette période.

Pour le Caire/Alexandrie, vous pouvez aller à la gare principale du Caire. Vous pouvez acheter le billet avant ou alors monter dans le train et prendre votre ticket directement auprès du contrôleur.
Faire la queue à la billeterie du Caire peut être très physique... ;)

A Hurghada chaque compagnie de bus à sont propre point de départ mais ils sont tous dans la même rue. Il s'agit de "sheraa el Nasr", la rue principale du quartier de Dahar. Vous trouverez dans cette rue "El Gouna bus", "Super Jet" et High Jet" pour aller au Caire ou à Alexandrie et "Upper Egypt travel" (moins de confort) pour aller à Louxor. plusieurs infos en réponse à votre post :
1 - les convois n'existent plus depuis déja 2 ans !
ceux ci restetn utilisés uniquement sur ABS ou sur des troncons effectués de nuit par des bus touristiques
2 - quand on parle de bus touristique, il s'agit de bus avec des groupes pré vendus et pré établis par des agences, vous ne pourrez donc jamais sur place achetter localemetn juste une place de bus, car ce sont des packages !
3 - les bus "normaux" sont à la base poru les locaux , mais aussi pour les touristes qui veulent voyager en individuels , ils sont bien sur proportiennement moins chere car vous n'achettez que la prestation transport !
il existe aussi localement différentes compagnies directe ou omni bus et plus ou moins luxueuses, proposant de fait des petites différences tarifaires entre elles.
4 - il vaut mieux achetter son billet à l'avance, car sur place les sieges sont numérotés et quand le bus est vendu plein, ben vous n'avez plus qu'à attendre le suivant ! vous pouvez achetter le ticket 1 ou meme 3/4 jours avant la route, directement au guichet du bus à son site de départ, la date / l'heure et le numéro de siege seron sur le ticket de bus = si vous voyageaz alors que les egyptiens sont en vacances, il vaux mieux réserver à l'avance = organisez votre ticket pour le départ suivant dés votre arrivée dans la ville visitée !
5 - il est totalemetn inutile de "descendre" de hurgada sur louxor pour reprendre le train ensuite vers le caire, bus et train vont à la meme vitesse "toute proportion gardée et tenant comtpe que le train n'existe que dans l'axe principal nord surd du pays" , donc c'est mathématique, si vous faites 2 x plus de route = vous prendrez 2 X plus de temps !
6 - aucune raison à mon avis de voler sur SSH si vous avez un vol sur HRG ... surtout que cela sera plus facile aussi au départ de rejoindre l'aéroport de HRG au départ du nil , vous permettant ainsi de faire une boucle dans votre circuit ; plutot que de devoir retourner au sinai dans le cas de SSH , qui vous obligera systematiquement de revenir sur le caire .
7 - si vous arrivez sur HRG , vous devrez de toute facon entrer avec un visa egypte à 15 usd = il vous permettra de prendre votre avion vol régulier et partir vers dubay ensuite.
attnetion si vous entrez par SSH , vous n'etes pas obligé a prendre ce visa payant, mais sans , vous ne pourrez aller nulle part que le sinai ! donc achettez le de toute facon dés votre arrivée , sinon à nouveau impossible d'aller au cair et a alex, donc impossible d'en sortir !
8 - entrée et sortie du pays par 2 aeroports différents autorisé uniquement si vous arrivez et re'partez avec 2 vols réguliers et/ou que vous arrivez et repartez d'un aéroport "continental" ( tout territoir egypte sauf sinai SSH et TABA)
ou dans ce cas au moins votre départ du pays doit etre en vol régulier pour éviter tout problème ...sinon obligation de demander ue dérogationa ux autorités aeroportuaires ... ( un epu compliqué et nécessite un TO pour le faire )
9 - risque de manifestation = similaire à ce jour ( aout ) = mineur = aucune raison particuière de manifester pour le moment, car pas d'election en vue ( sot repoussées à nov ) et le proces de mubarak en cours comme réclamé de plus tot ...
si votre vol est un charter, à un mois ils doivent vous prévenir ( délai légal)
, ou plus souvent ce qui se passe, ils regroupent et font des doubles touch down ( paris hurgada via louxor par ex !)

Moi je ne connais pas les bus convois j'ai toujours utilisé les bus "normaux" je voyage généralement du Caire à Alexandrie puis marsa mathruth je n'ai jamais eu de souci.Je précise que je suis une femme est que j'ai voyagé seule qu'il ne m'ai jamais rien arrivé.Pour le bus le Caire-Alexandrie il est quotidien avec plusieurs horaires par jour(prix environ 60LE si je me souviens bien) pour hurgada je ne pas le dire je ne suis jamais allé de ce coté de l'Egypte.Ensuite pour la crainte d'annulation de vol actuellement je ne pense pas qu'il y ai du souci a se faire.
Après 8 jours passés en Jordanie, nous souhaiterions aller de Aqaba à Dahab par voie terrestre (bus, taxi...) Pourriez nous indiquer précisement les transports…

Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...

- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?
- Is this document mandatory for a hotel to rent a room?
- Is it checked during inspections?
- Is a hotel booking (e.g., via Booking.com) sufficient for the visa?
- If so, does it need to be paid in advance?
I plan to visit several cities and do one or more treks with a guide or agency.

I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad)
After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address
AND a password (with confirmation). Is this normal?

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

I’m planning my next trip outside Europe for next year, but unfortunately, I don’t have a choice with the dates—it’s late June to early July. Last year, I went to Japan for three weeks, and it was constantly 36-37°C with over 90% humidity. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t impossible either.
For Egypt, I know it’s a period to avoid if possible, but I’m thinking that by the sea, it might be manageable. Otherwise, I’ll consider another destination.

Day 5: Hurghada, then drive to Luxor in the early afternoon

Day 7: Luxor, then drive back to Hurghada in the late afternoon

For the Hurghada trip, either rent a car or—easier—a private car/van.
