En septembre prochain j'irais en congrès à Madrid. Je veux prolonger mon séjour pour des petites vacances de 10 jours avec mon amoureux et j'ai beaucoup de difficulté à planifier un itinéraire. Nous serons à Madrid le 5 sept et notre vol de retour part de Barcelone le 15 sept.
J'avoue avoir un petit faible pour la région de l'Andalousie et la Costa Brava. Toutefois je crains de manquer de temps et donc je devrai faire un choix déchirant. Que me conseillez-vous ? Existe-t-il des itinéraires réalistes sur lesquels je peux me baser ?
Pour la planification, nous nous demandions s'il est plus économique de louer une voiture ou d'utiliser les trains/autobus pour 2 personnes ? C'est notre premier voyage en Europe.
Je vous préviens que je ne suis pas le plus indiqué ici pour donner de bons conseils, d'autres pourront vous minuter un petit circuit très précis (3 jours à Séville, 1 jour à Ronda, 2 jours à Grenade, 1 jours à Cordoue, 3 jours à Barcelone, en louant une voiture car c'est moins cher à deux etc...).
Mais en attendant des propositions plus honnêtes, je me demande pourquoi vous n'avez pas envie de rester un petit peu à Madrid (personnellement je rêve d'y passer quelques jours)
Est-ce que vous êtes prêts à avoir chaud ? Car, par exemple il y a deux ans, les températures les plus hautes en Andalousie étaient en septembre.
Entre faire toute l'Andalousie au pas de course, et une découverte tranquille d'un coin d'Andalousie, avec le temps d'avoir un aperçu et de profiter de l'art de vivre sous les climats méditerranéens, ce sont des manières différentes (et puis certains monument incontournables sont assez ressemblants d'une ville à l'autre, peut-être pas obligé de tous les faire).
Pour la voiture, je ne suis pas spécialiste, mais vu la difficulté qu'on raconte au sujet des problèmes de parking, je ne suis pas sur que ce soit rentable si on fait plutôt du tourisme urbain (par exemple, si on passe trois jours à Séville, je ne vois pas l'intérêt d'une voiture). A noter que les transports collectifs en Espagne sont très développés et fonctionnent très bien (bien mieux qu'en France par exemple).
C'était juste un petit avis sur la question, je passe le micro à ceux qui ont mieux étudié les différents guides culturels de cette belle région.
Je n'ai pas beaucoup de temps pour planifier, j'ai su il y a seulement 2 semaines que je partais le 30 août.... c'est à dire dans 1 mois !!! Plus je lis sur l'Espagne, plus il m'est difficile de décider d'un itinéraire... tout semble magnifique.
Comme je serais en congrès, nous passons déjà 6 jours à Madrid. Le retour se fait de Barcelone le 15 sept.
J'aime bien la ville, mais je dois avouer que j'ai un côté sauvage. J'aime la nature et les paysage à couper le souffle. J'aimerais bien faire de petites randonnées et voir des choses que nous n'avons pas en Amérique du Nord.
Je ne désire pas dormir dans de grands hôtels (sauf pour Madrid). Je cherche de petits endroits propres à prix raisonnables (B & B ou autre).
Pour la nature , mon carnet de voyage dans lä sierra andalouse de Jaen .
Mais il faut vraiment une vouture pour en profiter .

La planification n'est que choix déchirants...😉
Je suis d'ailleurs déchiré entre 2 types de conseils:
1-Demeurer dans la région de Madrid et celle de Barcelone pour les 10 jours et garder l'Andalousie dans son entièreté pour un autre voyage
2-Faire une "saucette" en Andalousie qui te donnera le goût d'y retourner
10 jours ce n'est pas tant que ça pour coucher à plusieurs endroits. Et il y a tant de beauté également tout autour de madrid. Donc, commençons pour une proposition en tenant compte que je ne te connais pas et donc ne connais ta vitesse de voyage. Certains sont plus contemplatifs, d'autres ont la check list bien en main. J'ai l'impression d'être un peu entre 2 comme québécois allant de l'autre côté. On ne peut se permettre de passer 2 semaines dans une ville car on ne sait pas quand on va y retourner.
Alors après cette trop longue intro, 😎
1-Demeurer à Madrid 5 jours
-Prendre au minimum 2 jours pour visiter la ville.
Côté centre-ouest de la ville disons: Plaza Major et autour, Puerta del sol et autour, Palacio real(réserver d'avance si possible), quartier la latina pour une tonne de bars à tapas, etc
Côté est de la ville: Il y a 3 grands musées. Prado, Thyssen et Reine Sofia. J'ai fait le Prado car j'adore la peinture et c'est un des plus importants d'Europe en ce sens. Je ne pourrai parler des autres. Derrière le splendide Parc du Retiro mérite une marche de quelques heures. au bout au nord, la puerta de Alcala et la fuente de cibeles. Pas loin, la gran Via, grande artère commerciale.
Il y a d'autres choses bien sûr, mais disons que ça remplit facilement 2 très belles journées.
-Je ferais un aller-retour d'une journée en train à Tolède au sud(On prend le train de la gare Atocha de Madrid).. Petite ville merveilleuse(J'y suis allé 2x) avec ses dédales de petites rues, son énorme cathédrale(à ne pas manquer sous aucun prétexte), son palais, quelques musées(dont celui d'El greco), beau monastère, etc.
-Je prendrais une journée pour aller à Segovie(30 minutes de Madrid-Chamartin, donc 1 heure 15 disons du centre). Ségovie possède un sublime aqueduc de 1800 ans, un superbe palais, une imposante cathédrale et de jolies rues pour relaxer.
-2 possibilités pour une dernière journée:
*une journée à Salamanque(1-35, 1-45 en train) incroyable ville, superbe architecture. Si c'est trop, un *aller-retour au palais El Escurial, le Versailles Espagnol, un autre must.
Ensuite, je partirais pour Barcelone et j'y passerais mes 5 journées, il y a tant à voir entre la plage, l'architecture de Gaudi(réserver la Sagrada familia d'avance), le vieux quartier, les musées, etc, etc. si vous en avez assez de la ville, vous pouvez faire un aller retour au monastère de Montserrat pour la journée.
Seconde proposition serait de
Passer 2 jours à Madrid
Prendre le train aller pour l'Andalousie et passer une journée à Cordoba. Coucher à Séville et y passer 2-3 nuits.
Retourner vers Barcelone(6 heures de train environ)
J'adore l'Andalousie et j'ai toujours ou presque une voiture. Mais dans ton cas, je ne suis pas certains que c'est ce que je ferais.
Dans ma première proposition, tu peux toujours changer Ségovie pour Cordoba par exemple, c'est assez facile à faire en train
Je ferais vraiment l'Andalousie dans un voyage séparé de 2 semaines, tant c'est merveilleux et il y a de beautés à voir

À vrai dire, j'ai peur de ne pas revenir en Espagne un jour et j'ai donc envie d'en voir le plus possible. Surtout de voir des choses différentes !
J'ai 2 plans approximatifs en tête:
1- Partir de Madrid en voiture vers le sud. Ronda m'attire beaucoup; Je ne sais pas pourquoi, mais les photos que j'ai vu de cet endroit me reste en tête. Ensuite rouler vers Barcelone (7 jours) Rendre la voiture et terminer 2 jours à Barcelone.
2- Partir de Madrid en train vers Barcelone. Louer une voiture et visiter la Costa Brava
J'aurais aimé avoir plus de temps pour préparer ce voyage. J'ai l'impression que je dois prendre des décisions sans maîtriser le sujet.

Tu sais, il n'y a pas de mauvais voyage quand c'est le nôtre. Tu y trouveras ton compte j'en suis sûr.
Ronda est tout à fait romantique et à voir. Cependant on y fait le tour en moins d'une journée. Donc faire 6 heures de voiture et remonter, c'est ton voyage tu peux bien le faire, mais tu as peu de temps et c'est énormément de temps en auto pour ne voir que ça.
Tu pourrais faire la Costa Brava de Barcelone. J'avais loué une voiture une journée pour me donner une idée de la côte. De Barcelone à Tossa de mar en prenant en parti la route de la côte, ensuite vers l'intérieur en direction de Peratallada, très joli village médiéval.
Cette année, on a passé notre première nuit au sud de Barcelone à Tarragone.
Oui j'ai tout trouvé très beau, mais est-ce que c'est ce que je retiens de plus marquant de mes différents passages en Espagne, non.
Mes apparts dans les villes ont été réservé sur Airbnb, tu y trouveras certainement des trucs. J'ai adoré les quartiers La Latina à Madrid, très vibrant avec un tas de restos et bars tapas à proximité, et El Born à Barcelone, aussi pour son ambiance, son côté historique, sa proximité d'un paquet de trucs, ses nombreux restos et bars.
Pour le reste, faudrait voir où tu couches officiellement.
Après avoir changé d'idée un nombre incalculable de fois, notre projet nous semble réaliste :)
Après le congrès, location de voiture de Madrid et direction Grenade. Ensuite nous prendrons 6 jours pour nous rendre à Seville en passant par Nerja, Ardales, Setenil, Ronda, Arcos de la frontera. TGV de Séville à Barcelone pour les 3 derniers jours.
On ne devrait pas s'ennuyer !

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.
I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay

D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

we’re a couple planning a 2-week road trip this August, with a must-stop (about 3 days on Skye). Any route suggestions? Hotel recommendations? Photo spots?
My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2026.
We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?
We’re a group of 4 heading out at the end of June for 11 days.
I’m just starting my research.
We’ll be renting a regular car, not a 4x4.
I’m not finding a ton of info on the North.
Would love your take on all those kilometers—is there a route that lets us cut out a section?
