on est entrain de voir avec une amie pour éventuellement aller sur l'Asie cet été et je viens vers vous pour essayer d'avoir un maximum de réponses à ces quelques questions:
Quelques questions en vrac:
Pourrions-nous avoir des problèmes en sachant que j'aurai 17 ans lors du voyage, et mon amie 19?
Ayant été en septembre passé à Singapour, je sais que la chaleur est quelque chose au quel il faut ''aimer'', mais dans cette période de l'année (juin/juillet) on serra plutôt dans une ''période chaude'' ou de ''pluies et mauvais temps'' dans ces 3 villes?
Maintenant, voici éventuellement un itinéraire probable:
Paris-Singapour le 22 juin avec Singapore Airlines. On arrive à Singpour assez tôt, on prendrait alors un vol dans les 2-3 heures après notre arrivée pour KL. L'idée serrait de faire 10 jours à KL (et 10 jours pour chacune des deux autres villes). Fin juin/début juillet, quitter KL pour rejoindre HK. Rester sur place environ 10jours également, puis revenir sur Singapour, rester 10 jours également, puis revenir sur Paris autours du 20/23 juillet.
Premièrement, quels sont les sites (payants: musée? ou non: centres commerciaux) à visiter/voir à KL et HK? Y'a t'il quelques ''excursions'' d'une journée organisée pour aller voir des sites en dehors de ville? (Sur une île, par exemple, etc..).
Maintenant, la grande question c'est surtout niveau budget: 2000euros serraient t'ils suffisants pour ce voyage? (par personne). Si vous pouvez me donner le chiffre minimum (en profitant, mais en faisant attention) et le chiffre avec lequel on serrait très alaise et dont on pourrait se faire quelques plaisirs, ce serrait parfait.

950Euros pour tous ce qui est vol en avion.
75euros pour l'auberge à KL. 2x 150euros environ pour HK/SING.
Il resterait donc 675 euros pour 30 jours pour la nourriture (les restos très locaux, c'est ce que on recherche, on veut pas du luxe), transports (metro, transferts aéroports, bus..) et loisirs (excursions, visites etc..). A première vue, ce serrait pas suffisant, mais je me rends pas compte connaissant ni HK ni KL..
Certain me diront que 3-4 jours suffit pour visiter ces villes, mais on veut pas speeder, profiter de la vie si différente que chez nous, maintenant si 10 jours c'est vraiment trop, pourquoi pas aller ailleurs encore (j'attends vos propositions éventuelles).
Voilà voilà, pour l'instant c'est très vague car rien est sûr si financièrement on peut assurer ce voyage, c'était pour se donner une idée.

Personnellement, j'aime beaucoup les villes d'Asie mais je te dirai deux choses.
Dix jour à KL, ça me paraît beaucoup, à ta place j'y passerais 5 ou 6 jours si vous voulez prendre votre temps et je profiterais un peu du reste de la Malaisie.
Ces villes sont assez étouffantes alors prévois plutôt un break d'une petite semaines dans les îles pour souffler un peu.
Kapas et Perhentians en particulier.
Sinon, avec 674 € pour trente jours, c'est vraiment difficile ! Tu vas les dépenser en quelques jours à Singapour où le moindre hôtel coûte entre 50 et 100 $ !
Hong Kong, je ne sais pas mais en Asie les villes sont les lieux les plus onéreux.
En résumé, 5 à 6 jours maxi par ville et 10 à 12 jours de plongée, snorkeling et autres délices de la mer, voire 2 ou 3 jours au Taman Negara pour la jungle ! 😏
Si j'ai bien compris, tu as environ 1000€ chacun pour 30 jours pour hôtels, transports, loisirs et nourriture, donc révise ton budget à la hausse, pour 30 jours, tu ne t'en sortiras pas, suf si tu restes plus en Malaisie qui est nettement moins chère.

C'est vrai qu'à première vue, c'est une ville qui comporte pas énormément de chose. Si on se ''limite'' aux villes à la base, c'est pour éviter de gros déplacements terrestres. J'ai une grande orientation pour tout ce qui est metro, bus en ville etc.. mais partir en dehors de ça, ça serra plus compliqué pour les bus de nuits ou autres, je pense? Après, si on peut faire 5 jours KL et 5 jours en île, effectivement, ce serrait encore mieux! Si ce projet se conqurêtise, je demanderai sur ce même topic bien plus de détails concernant les choses à faire aux alentours de KL (ou plus loin).

En hôtel de luxe, effectivement, mais en auberge de jeunesse non. J'en ai regardé quelques unes, et les prix reviennent à comme indiquer avant, environ 150euros pour 10 nuits par personne. Après effectivement 675euros me paraissait moi même peu. Je pense que 500 de plus serrait pas mal. (?)

Pour KL, effectivement, vous vous trompez certainement pas. Après, c'est vrai que Singapour j'ai adoré l'ambiance et y'aller en visitant 1 ou 2 choses par jour et le reste, se promener, c'est ce que on recherche aussi. (A hong kong aussi, cette ville est tellement immense, on peut en voir du nouveau chaque jour, mais peut être pas 10 jours, mais entre 7 et 9).

Je n'ai pas envie de te contredire, mais quand je suis allée en Malaisie avec mon copain en 2009, nous n'étions pas dans des hôtels de luxe mais dans des petites guest house en moyenne à 15€ la double et nous avons dépensé environ 1000€ chacun en 1 mois dont seulement 2 jours à Singapour. Il y a plein d'à côté en voyage.
A mon avis, c'est ton budget hôtel qui semble très juste . Attention au prix affichés sur des sites comme Hostelworld et Hostelbooker, ils sont par personne et non par chambre !
A moins que vous ne dormiez toujours en dortoir, ça me paraît très difficile, mais pas toujours très cool d'être en dortoir avec ta copine !
Bon, il y aura sûrement d'autres avis et tu feras la part des choses.

Je parle toute manière (enfin j'écris lol) d'après ce que je pense, imagine, et non en étant sûr vu que HK et KL je ne connais pas. L'auberge a son propre site pour ce qui est de KL, et c'est bien 150euros la chambre pour les 10 nuits, donc 75 par personne. Pour ce qui est de HK et SING c'est des auberges vues sur hotel.com et booking.com, et c'est bien 300euros la chambre pour 10 jours dans ces deux villes, donc 150 par personne. (C'est de loin pas du luxe, au contraire, mais bon c'est pas nos priorités).
Cependant, je veux bien vous croire que les 675 euros seront insuffisant, je pense que 500 en plus serraient pas à négliger.
Tout dépend de l'aide financière des parents, et de notre boulot de notre côté.
(c'est pas ma copine, mais juste une amie si jamais, 19 ans serrait un peu ''trop'' même si ça existe. 😉)

Après niveau bouffe à elle seule, par personne, ... je vais te donner des tranches supérieurs.
A Singapore tu peux faire 5€ par repas tranquillement (dans un mall), dans la rue il y a parfois des restos en plein air (dans le little India ou Chinatown) où c'est moins cher.
A HK, tu peux bien manger pour 4€ dans des ptits restos de rue (même à Causeway Bay).
Pour les loisirs, ce serait plutôt pour le snorkelling/plongée, si tu vas dans quelques endroits en Malaisie, mais pour Singapore il n'y a pas grand-chose comme "loisirs" payants et HK il y a le disneyland ou l'ocean park, mais à éviter en été parce que hot hot hot.
Au niveau des transports, à Singapore et HK c'est de l'ordre de 50c-1€ pour un trajet normal. Je te conseillerais bien de préférer les pieds, mais avec la chaleur c'est vite fatigant. Pour KL je ne connais pas.

Oui d'ailleurs ils ont montés leurs tarifs à voir mais bon, 750euros c'est déjà un bon prix je trouve, et on tenait à prendre cette compagnie pour l'A380 (malgré le fait que emirates le fasse aussi, mais c'est à voir en fait).

Par loisir, j'entendais en fait tout ce qui est à visiter (par exemple, à SING, le zoo, la grande roue, l'universal, china/little, etc.. etc..). tout ce qui est à voir. En fait, on préfère passer nos 30 jours en étant ''cools'' en asie, donc très dépaysant, que en France/Suisse. On recherche pas de visiter 3/4 endroits par jour.

Si tu parles des Perhentians et de Kapas, non, vraiment pas des îles à hôtels de luxe.
Sur Perhentian Kecil en particulier, des petites guest houses avec des bungalows sur les plages et beaucoup, beaucoup de jeunes.
Kapas, même type de bungalows mais vraiment rien à faire qu'à se laisser vivre et aucune animation.
Ca, c'est chez Maya sur Coral Bay à Kecil, bungalow sur la plage à 80 ringits.
Quand il n'y a pas de solution, c'est qu' il n'y a pas de problème !

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).
I need some expert advice on these two destinations for a 15-day trip. We land in KL and plan to stay for 2 days before heading to Borneo and finishing with an island for snorkeling.
For those who’ve been, what are your must-sees?
We were thinking of spending the last 3 days on the Perhentian Islands, unless you’ve got another island to recommend near Borneo.

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. My trip’s coming up, and I’m having a bit of trouble with three bus/minivan routes. Usually, I find everything at this time of year, but this time—yikes!

No app for this one—you just hop on bus #14 at the local terminal (pay cash on board). But where do I catch it, and where’s the stop??

From what I’ve heard, it’s the Sida Express company (great name, right? 😄).
Can’t book online, but apparently, you *have* to because there’s only one bus at 8 AM.
