Je souhaite partir plonger en mer rouge mi novembre avec mon copain. Nous hésitons entre :Safaga (organisé par Dive Spirit Travel, hôtel Menaville, club Dune) El Gouna (organisé par l'UCPA, hôtel Arena Inn, club inconnu).Nous avons le niveau 1, aimerions en prendre plein les yeux en plongée mais également faire un peu de planche à voile, wakeboard, des excursions (dans le désert, Luxor...). Quelle est à votre avis la ville la plus adaptée ? Si vous connaissez les hotels et clubs, qu'en avez-vous pensé ?

Que peut-on esperer voir sous l'eau à Safaga ?

je souhaite voyager 15 jours cet été en Egypte avec mes deux enfants (13 et 16 ans) peu habitué aux circuits touristiques "traditionnels" (clubs), je voudrais découvrir le pays comme j'ai l'habitude de procéder: billet sec + sac à dos... Je ne sais pas si cela est aussi aisé qu'en Asie du Sud Est par exemple ou j'ai mes habitudes!!! j'ai trouvé des billets pour Aout à +500€ / pers mais je bloque sur les spots, les transports, le cout moyen de la vie, les disponibilités des hotels en plein mois d'Aout... bref, j'ai besoin de conseils pour valider mon voyage. merci par avance pour votre aide.

Bonjour, Nous passons une semaine à Marsa Alam (stage windsurf) en novembre prochain. Le prix des transferts est exhorbitant. Nous envisageons la location d'une voiture depuis l'aéroport d'Hurghada (+/- 200 euros). Je n'arrive pas à localiser l'hôtel où nous avons prévu notre semaine planche ... Comme l'hôtel propose lui-même des transferts (à 84 euros pp), nous préférons essayer de nous débrouiller nous-mêmes.

Est-ce que quelqu'un s'est déjà rendu par ses propres moyens à Marsa Alam, et plus particulièrement à l'hôtel Shams Alam, qui se trouve à une cinquantaine de km de la ville ????

bonsoir je finalise plus ou moins notre prochain séjour en famille en egypte et j'avais pensé à dahab pour quelques jours quelqu'un connaît il et a t il des bons plans nous recherchons un hôtel calme, pas d'animations et proche mer bien sûr

sinon cette station balnéaire est-elle tranquille ? (enfin plus que les autres sharm hurgada etc)

Bon voila je dois me faire un petit voyage avec mon amie.

On a un budget de 1000 € / pers et 10 jours max. On veut du chaud si possible et proximité de la mer (plongée et windsurf) 🙂 Éviter les gros hôtels !!!!!! 🤪 Éviter les excursions en bus !

On a donc pensé à l'Égypte (le Maroc et la Tunisie sont déjà fait).

Par contre aux vues des guides / témoignages et autres.. plusieurs questions en découlent.

1 - Est ce possible de faire ce pays en bagpacker ? entre safaga (4 jours) & louxor (2/3 jours) ou ça craint. 2 - Dans le cas ou ça craint faut il, dans l'optique plongée / windsurf uniquement aller à Dahab ou Safaga ? sachant qu'on aime bien ne pas être oppressé par le monde ! 3 - Des hôtels a conseiller / deconseiller sur ces deux sites ? 4 - Y a t il des choses à voir à proximité de safaga ? (ce qui nous fais un peu peur si y a rien !) Tjrs ds l'optique de bagpacker. 5 - Y a t il des choses à voir à proximité de Dahab ? (on a vu le mont Sinaï, mais à part ca) Tjrs ds l'optique de bagpacker. 6 - C'est interdit d'aller à pied sur les langues de sables en face des plages ? 🤪 7 - Difficile de louer une voiture ou pas ? car les agences s'avancent pas trop la dessus ?!

Bonjour nous partons 3s en juillet en Egypte avec nos 3 enfants (de 11 à 17 ans); nous envisageons d' organiser notre sejour ainsi: 3 jours au CAire, 3 jours dans le desert blanc, retour au Caire puis descente à Luxor en train où puis nous aimerions passer 3 jours sur le nil, puis retour à Dahab en bus pour 8 jours soit à l'hotel Lagona village ou au novotel pour faire du snorkelling, sinai...Que pensez vous de ce parcours ? quelqu'un aurait il fait quelque chose d'analogue ? Nous cherchons des tuyaux sur comment faire une petite croisiere de 2 à 3 jours sur une felouque à partir de Luxor ou Assouan ? Y a t il des personnes qui sont allées dans le desert en plein juillet ? et au niveau hotel sur Dahab, que nous recommendez vou ? sachant qu'on cherche un hotel avec piscine, à cote d'une plage et idealement proche d'un endroit de snorkelling ? mais y a t il du danger pour des enfants au niveau de la mer ? Vents, courants ? est ce que les massifs coralliens sont accessibles à la nage ou avec bâteau? merci

🙁 Comme beaucoup j'ai réservé un séjour dans ce club pour les vacances de février, et vu les critiques, je me pose des questions quant au maintien de ma résevation.

Apparement le directeur de ce club a changé dernièrement, et les améliorations se font sentir.

We’ll be in Dahab again this October—we’ve been going since 1979—to freedive. In 2025, to our surprise, access to the Blue Hole is now paid: on top of the 10 € taxi fare, you have to pay $10 per person to enter the park. So we’re heading outside Dahab to the Three Pools site by bike, rented locally. Is there a bus that goes there, or shared taxis, instead of the tourist taxis? And where can we catch them? We’ve seen big buses full of local families on the site, but we don’t know where to find them. Thanks in advance!

After a perfect first experience as a couple with Memphis Tour in 2020—where we left an outstanding review—we’ve just returned from Egypt with our family of six plus a baby, and we have numerous complaints:

On the day our cruise was supposed to depart, the boat stayed docked in Aswan for over 24 hours without starting the Nile navigation as scheduled. We only left the next day at 3:30 PM for a quick stop/visit to Kom Ombo at 6:00 PM, followed by nighttime navigation until arriving in Esna at 2:00 AM!

The next day, we departed at 9:30 AM and arrived around noon in Luxor, where the boat docked in the middle of nowhere, 12 km from the city center!

In the end, we were charged for 4 days on the magnificent Nile but only got a maximum of 5 hours and 45 minutes of daytime navigation!

And, to top it off, there was no stop in Edfu—meaning no carriage ride to the Temple of Edfu, which was advertised as one of Egypt’s largest and best-preserved temples. Instead, without informing us, they replaced it with a visit to Esna.

During a West Bank visit in Luxor, we had to wait for our kids, who were with another guide for a longer tour. When our guide contacted Memphis Tour, they refused to let us visit the Temple of Medinet Habu (just 5 € away) on our own! We were forced to go through them and pay 25 € per person.

Instead of letting us wait in front of the temple for our kids and the other guide, they dropped us off alone for a full hour in what they called an "alabaster factory"—which was just the usual overpriced tourist shop where all guides take you.

I’ll skip the overly simplistic meal at Philae: grilled chicken and rice with no dessert or coffee. And the amateurish organization where the guide on the boat wasn’t even informed about the next day’s exact program.

Finally, despite our repeated priority requests and Memphis Tour’s promises during booking, there was no baby car seat provided for several long trips—even though the traffic is certainly colorful but not always reassuring.

Nor was the promised baby bed available on the boat—only a third adult bed. We had to insist strongly to get one.

Even though the complimentary carriage and felucca rides in Luxor were nice, they don’t make up for everything else.

This is despite the skills and kindness of the guides and boat staff.

Since 2020, we’ve sent several groups of friends to Memphis Tour for their Egyptian trips, but that definitely won’t happen again in the future.

Hi, Which neighborhood should I choose in Cairo? From what I understand, Giza is close to the pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum, but there isn’t much else to do in the evening. Zamalek seems pretty quiet with plenty of restaurants. Basically, I’m looking for a calm neighborhood (if that exists!) where I can stroll around safely and grab a bite to eat in the evening. Hello, For flight schedules and prices from Bordeaux, and ease of reaching Alexandria by bus/train afterward, I’m considering spending 4 days around Hurghada (direct flight from Bdx).

I don’t think I’ll go for courses to get my Level 1, since I don’t plan to dive often in the future—unless you think it’s better than doing 2 discovery dives in this area (I only have one baptism under my belt, in Koh Tao 15 years ago—amazing! But I’m not targeting trips for diving; I need to go to Alexandria, so this is a chance to get back into diving and snorkeling).

I’m looking for a spot to do some snorkeling, 1 or 2 baptisms, and explore the surroundings. I’ll arrive in early March on the evening of Day 0. I’ll have 3.5 days after that (I’m planning to leave on Day 4 around 4 PM by bus/train).

Is Hurghada completely to be avoided in favor of another area in the Red Sea, or can I still have a nice 3.5 days there? I know places like Dahab are more pleasant, but the convenience and timing of Hurghada appeal to me... I usually prefer more authentic travel spots and places, but I’m willing to compromise on that if it’s still worth it for the diving. Or should I only stay 2.5 days and head to Alexandria a day earlier? (I’ve already seen Cairo and Luxor a bit.)

Here’s my planned itinerary: Cairo – 2 nights White Desert – 2 nights Hurghada – 2 nights Luxor – 2 nights Aswan – 1 night Marsa Alam – 4 nights Cairo – 1 night -> So, I was planning to rent a car after the desert to go to Hurghada, then Luxor, then Marsa Alam (but the drive from Marsa Alam back to Cairo seems really long, so I was thinking of skipping it and going from Luxor back to Hurghada instead). Could you help me make sense of this, please?

I was thinking of spending 2 days by the Red Sea so the boys can enjoy the water:

-Can you swim in the Red Sea in mid-February? Is the water temperature okay? -People are recommending I go to Safaga rather than Hurghada—do you agree? -How do I make the trip from Luxor to Safaga or Hurghada, by bus or taxi? Do you have any idea of the taxi price? A contact?

The consulate tells me my French residence permit needs to be valid for at least 6 months after I leave Egypt, but my permit will only be valid for 5 months and a few days by my departure date from Egypt. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this itinerary, but mostly I’m wondering if it’s possible—and worth it—to take a one-way flight to Abu Simbel. We’d like to spend a night there to take our time visiting the site early in the morning and catch the sound-and-light show in the evening, then head to Aswan with a private driver or by bus.

Your feedback would be super helpful in planning this part of our trip!
