Nous allons partir cet été avec des amis (nous serons 6) effectuer le circuit classique du Sud Pérou. Les billets d’avion sont déjà pris, donc les dates ne sont plus flexibles, et nous sommes en train de finaliser notre itinéraire. Je me suis tournée vers des agences locales pour nous concocter un tour plus privatif car à 6 ça ne reviens guère plus cher et moins d’organisation sur place que de louer une voiture et faire le circuit seul comme nous en avons l’habitude.

We’re making a family dream come true: spending a month in Brazil from July 19 to August 20. We’ll land in Rio and spend 6 days there (we’ve finalized a home exchange for a lovely apartment in the Copacabana neighborhood). After that, we’re heading to Minas Gerais by rental car for 11 days (Tiradentes, Ouro Preto, and the Inhotim Institute), then the Costa Verde, and finally 2 days in São Paulo.

We’ll be traveling with our three kids, ages 17, 14, and 9, who are real travelers and good hikers. Goes hand in hand, right? 😄

For now, we’ve planned to visit Ilha Grande (4 days) and then Paraty and its surroundings (3 days). What do you think? Ilha Grande appealed to us for its hikes and beaches, but couldn’t we do that along Paraty’s coast? I’ve read mixed reviews about Ilha Grande...

Next April, I’m planning a trip (the 1st) to Brazil. I’ll have 12 days there (not counting the 13th day for the return). I’ll arrive on 22/04 in the early evening in Rio de Janeiro. The return flight is from São Paulo on 04/05 in the afternoon. I know 12 days is very little for such a big country, which is why I’ll focus on a relatively small area: the southeast (though "small" is relative!). I’ve started mapping out the main stops for my trip, which would be: - Rio de Janeiro: 4 to 5 days? - Ilha Grande and maybe Paraty: 2 to 3 days - Iguazu Falls: Brazilian and Argentinian sides: 2 days - São Paulo: 1 to 2 days

What do you think? Is this reasonable? There are about 250/260 km between Rio and Paraty. I’d like to make the trip by rental car. What do you think? A car is definitely much more practical and faster than the bus. 12/13 days is short—I can’t afford to lose too much time in transit. To get to Ilha Grande, I understand there’s a ferry that shuttles between the mainland and the island. From which city can you take the ferry? Mangaratiba? Conceição de Jacareí? Angra dos Reis? If I arrive by rental car, where can I park it? I think cars are banned on the island, right? That’s where I’m at with my planning. I have a few questions. - Should we visit Rio with a guide, considering we want to explore favelas and hike to reach the main sites? And how many days should we plan for it? - How many days for Ilha Grande, and is the weather favorable during this period? Is it a must-see? - What do you think of Cabo Frio? Today, we started looking into traveling in April 2026, either to Chile or Argentina. It’s our first trip to South America. I’ve only been to French Guiana once, about ten years ago, for the space center. In recent years, we’ve usually gone to Asia during the spring holidays.

Based on the flight tickets I’ve found, two arrival and departure options are available: - Arriving in Buenos Aires and departing from Salvador de Bahia. - Arriving in Santiago, Chile, and still departing from Salvador de Bahia.

We’re considering flying business class on the outbound flight so we arrive a bit more rested. The travel class might influence our choice between itinerary A or B.

We’d like to spend two days at Iguazu Falls (both the Argentine and Brazilian sides), which explains the departure from Brazil.

Initially, we thought about arriving in Buenos Aires and staying in Argentina before heading to Iguazu. However, the itinerary forces us to go back through Buenos Aires.

We love nature. The El Calafate region seems to offer beautiful, easily accessible landscapes. Maybe there’s another area we should prioritize.

Here are two itineraries—what do you think? I know it’s short, but we can’t add any more days. We’ll have to make it work.

Option A: D1(Sat): Flight from France to Buenos Aires – arrival at 9:55 PM. D2(Sun): Visit Buenos Aires D3(Mon): Visit Buenos Aires. I’m planning a trip to Brazil in October and decided to go through an agency to organize our itinerary. I asked two agencies to put together a circuit with transfers, hotels, organized visits, and one domestic flight. I don’t speak Spanish or Portuguese. 6 nights in Rio 3 nights on Ilha Grande 3 nights in Paraty Domestic flight to Salvador for 3 nights 3 nights in Morro de São Paulo 1 night in Salvador before flying back to France. For this itinerary, I’m going with Tourlane, but I’m still waiting on the second quote from Comptoir des Voyages. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the itinerary and especially on these agencies—thanks for any feedback! 😊

Bonjour, une copine et moi prévoyons partir au moins de février au Pérou pour une durée de 3 semaines. Nous sommes encore au stade de la planification, mais nous avions en tête un voyage d'environ 2000$ CAD dont 700$ pour les billets d'avion. Je fais donc appel à vous qui avez déjà fait ce périple afin d'avoir une idée de la faisabilité de notre projet. On ne veut pas nécessairement se priver, mais nous ne sommes pas du genre à faire des folies non plus. Qu'en pensez-vous? Est-ce possible?

Le 23 mai 2020, je pars avec un ami pour 2 semaines (environ) en Bolivie avant de rejoindre le Pérou. Ayant peur, comme l'an dernier, qu'il ne reste plus de place, nous avons déjà réservé le trek de l'inca vers le Machu Picchu pour le 10 juin. Idéalement, nous aimerions arriver à Cusco le 8 juin.

Ma question est la suivante : Quel itinéraire nous conseillerez-vous pour la Bolivie ?

Nous nous imaginions atterrir à Santa Cruz avant de bouger dans la sens des aiguilles d'une montre. Santa Cruz puis Sucre et Potosi avant de rejoindre le Salar d'Uyuni (4j/3n). Nous remonterions vers le volcan Sajama avant d'aller à La Paz pour finir vers le Lac Titicaca (Copacabana, la Isla del sol) avant de quitte le sol bolivien. (ou vaut-il finir par La Paz ?)

Est ce que tout cela vous semble possible en 2 semaines et cohérent ? Quels autres lieux nous conseillerez-vous de visiter ? J'ai lu que certaines personnes ne s'arrêtaient pas à Sucre...

Bonjour. Nous partons à deux au Pérou en juillet pour trois semaines. Je vous soumets un projet d'itinéraires. J'ai bien compris que les heures de bus sont nombreuses et que l'altitude est à appréhender sérieusement. C'est pour cela que je sollicite vos avis. Vos retours me seront certainement très utiles alors n'hésitez pas.

Arrivée à Lima puis bus pour Arequipa.

J1 Arequipa J2 Route pour Yanque J3 Yanque, rando à la journée. J4 Retour vers Chivay et route pour Puno. J5 Puno. Nous resterions près du Lac durant quelques jours.

J8 Route pour Cusco. Nous y resterions encore quelques nuits avec des journées dans la vallée, pour visiter la ville et nous rendre à Vinicunca.

J12 Trek su Salkantay

J16 Vol pour Lima (tôt) puis bus pour Huaraz ou à proximité.

Nous resterions dans la cordelière blanche pour quelques randonnées.

J21) Bus pour Lima puis retour.

Est-ce envisageable sans être trop « speed » ? Nous voulons visiter mais à un rythme permettant d'apprécier les paysages.

1. D’abord, que pensez-vous de cet itinéraire globalement (parties infaisables vu le temps imparti, destinations à zapper au profit d'autres, ...) ?

2. Nous hésitons à aller au lac Titicaca. Si nous enlevons cette partie, nous aurions un peu plus de temps soit vers Arequipa au début (avec les Salinas de Agua Caliente, par ex.), soit pour rajouter Vinicunca (Rainbow Moutain) et la Vallée rouge, soit pour prolonger la jungle à la fin (nous sommes très nature et n’avons jamais fait la jungle amazonienne, nous y tenons J)... Qu’en pensez-vous ?

3. Conseilleriez-vous la forêt vers Puerto Maldonado ou vers Iquitos ?

Les temps de trajets indiques sont ils dans la réalité? Les routes empruntes sont elles en bon état, il semblerait que oui. Y a t il des portions de route dangereuses vraiment? Les paysages y sont ils beaux ou les longues sont elles plutôt monotones?

Pour notre premier trajet LIMA - PISCO ( islas ballestas) nous pensons peut etre a faire ce trajet avec un taxi ou un chauffeur privé (nous sommes deux couples) plutot qu en bus pour optimiser notre temps -

Mais je n'arrive pas à trouver d'indication sur le prix de ce trajet en taxi ou chauffeur privé.

Bonjour, jen suis a planifier mon itinéraire pour le Brésil en février 2020. Il se trouve que le carnaval aura lieu pendant ces dates.... mais logistiquement...Je serais ailleurs qu'à rio pendant ces dates. I’ll be traveling to Peru in August 2025. Unfortunately, I only have 12 days to visit this amazing country. I’m torn between doing a fast-paced trip where I see every sight but don’t really soak it all in, or going for a lighter itinerary that lets me enjoy the moment more.

Hi there, We’re spending 3 weeks in Brazil, arriving in São Paulo—a couple plus a teen—and we’ll have a rental car. We especially love nature: hiking, wildlife watching, birds, etc. We’re planning to wrap up with a week around Paraty and Ilha Grande. We’re not really into visiting big cities like São Paulo or Rio unless you think we’d be missing out big time.

So we’ve got 2 weeks to explore the south/southwest region of São Paulo. What do you recommend? National parks? Off-the-beaten-path nature spots? Iguazu Falls?

Hi everyone, After a lot of hesitation due to the season, I finally booked my tickets to Lima from June 30 to March 11—I’ll be crossing my fingers for the weather! We’re planning the classic southern loop with a rental car, either the whole thing or part of it. I’ve got a ton of questions: Is it possible to drive to the Salinas y Aguada Blanca Reserve with our own vehicle? Is the road to Cusco (the 34 E) in good condition? Is it better to return via Andahuaylas, Pampachiri, Nazca? Or through Ayacucho toward Paracas? I’m also hesitating about heading to the Cordillera Blanca and pushing on to Trujillo and Chan Chan because of the weather. The other option would be to spend a week or 10 days in northern Chile, which I think is amazing...

So, if you’ve got any tips or suggestions?

Hi there, we’ll have 15 days total, which means 13 days of travel on the ground. We’re planning to visit Brazil during the second half of July. I’m not naive enough to think we can see a huge chunk of Brazil in such a short time, so I’m focusing on a specific area to make it relaxed and enjoyable.

We’re flying out of Madrid. I was thinking of spending 3 or 4 days in Rio, 3 days in Iguazu (I initially thought one day would be enough, but I’ve read it’s highly recommended to visit the Argentine side as well), 3 or 4 days on Ilha Grande, and 3 days in Paraty. I’m not entirely sure about Ilha Grande in July, but I’m looking for a place to unwind and enjoy the sea (if the water’s good then).

I’ve noticed a lot of people fly into Madrid and return from São Paulo (or vice versa). What’s the advantage of that? It doesn’t seem problematic (based on Google Maps, though I’m no expert) to navigate from Rio. Is there a more efficient order for visits to minimize travel time?

As you can tell, I’m just starting to plan, but I’ll need to book the international flights soon. I’ll probably have more questions for those of you who are patient enough to help! ;)

Hi everyone, my son and I are planning a 2-week trip at the end of the year and would like to visit Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain) and then experience the Amazon in a lodge near Iquitos (probably Muyuna). What’s the ideal itinerary, considering there’s no direct flight between Cusco and Iquitos?

Just to clarify, we’re skipping Machu Picchu and only plan to spend one night in Lima to recover from the inbound flight.
