Et dois je réserver nos sièges à l'avance ou lors de l'enregistrement on peut avoir des sièges cote à cote (nous sommes 4 dont 2 jeunes ados) si nous arrivons dans les 1ers ?

Hello, After a lot of searching, exchanging ideas, and thinking it over, I’ve decided to go back to my original plan of spending two weeks in Bangkok. From January 19th to February 2nd. I’ll also take a quick trip for one night/two days to Ayutthaya (and return to Bangkok, where I’ll have kept the apartment I booked), and possibly the same for Kanchanaburi, depending on how I feel once I’m there—whether I find something more interesting in Bangkok or nearby. The key word is: taking my time to take photos, observe, taste, savor (in every sense of the word), and most importantly, not rushing. Beyond the must-see tourist spots, I’d love to wander around the city and maybe within a 40 to 50 km radius for a day trip to discover unusual and lesser-known streets, houses, temples, markets, gardens, and more. I’ll also be spending two weeks in Chiang Mai and two weeks in Nan. I’m open to any suggestions. Thank you so much!

Hello, I’m heading to Thailand for two weeks at the end of February with my family. I went there 20 years ago. I’d love your thoughts on a relaxed two-week trip that lets me show my kids the joys of travel while also taking time to unwind (after all, it *is* vacation! :)) I’m planning to spend 2 days in Bangkok, then take the overnight train to Chiang Mai (so my kids can experience that) and stay for 2-3 nights. After that, I’ll fly to Phuket for a few nights, then head to Koh Lanta for a few days before returning to Phuket to make my way back to Bangkok for the last two days before departure. Tons of people travel for two weeks during this time—any recommendations? So far, I only have my round-trip flight ticket to Bangkok. Thanks in advance!

Hi there, During our Thailand trip, we're planning to arrive in Bangkok and then head up to Chiang Mai. So far, so good. But after that, we'd like to go to the islands—either Krabi or Koh Samui. However, the flights listed on 12go.asia seem complicated, with a layover of about 1 hour in Bangkok where we'd have to collect our luggage and check in for the second flight. That feels way too tight.

Hi, I’m really interested in the "SUPREME bus" and especially the "Wiang Ping Super VIP Class Bus" with Sombat Tour for traveling from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. But you can only book through their website, and it’s entirely in Thai. No agency allows booking for these buses from this company either. I haven’t found any way to make a reservation for either of these two buses... Has anyone traveled from Bangkok to Chiang Mai on one of these buses? Thanks so much

For the past two months, I’ve been checking flight ticket prices to spend 4.5 weeks in Thailand from early July to early August. I’m traveling from Brussels with a young child, so I want to avoid layovers. That’s why I’m only looking at Thai Airways’ website and only choosing direct flights.

At the end of August, I saw tickets for 955 € per person. On October 1st, they were 1,225 €. Today (October 22nd), the price is the same as on October 1st. (Same dates: Departure: July 4th, Return: August 7th.)

My question is: Is it possible these prices will drop significantly in the coming months?

Note: I clear my browser cache before every search, which I always do during the week and in the evening. This time, I also checked with my work computer, which has a VPN. So, the price isn’t influenced by cookies.

Bonjour, Nous avons acheté nos vols hier après midi. Malheureusement ce matin nous étions tenus de les annuler. Nous avons appelé ce matin le service clients de Qatar Airways à Doha (bien que le numéro de téléphone soit français). Nous avons annulé nos vols téléphoniquement. (pas de délai de rétractation) puis nous devions recevoir un email de confirmation 6 minutes après : au bout d'une demie heure nous avons rappelé là nous devons être patients puis 1h après vous avez dû recevoir un mail nous as t-on dit et il faudra attendre que le service Back office s'en occupe : si aujourd'hui ou demain matin nous n'avons pas toujours reçu d'email de confirmation d'annulation, les rappeler...nous sommes allés alors sur le forum du routard et là, découverte que cette manière de procéder n'est pas nouvelle avec cette compagnie. Nous ne savons plus quoi faire : attendre une hypothétique réponse ou et attendre le remboursement (la moitie de la dépense) qui interviendrait 2 semaines ou 4 semaines après... Quelqu'un a t-il rencontré ce problème? A qui vous êtes vous adressé? comment avez vous fait! à notre âge (plus de 70 ans) notre stresse va grandissant>. struggling to find a decent flight to Thailand?????

Hi everyone, I’ve been traveling in Asia for over 30 years, often to Thailand, but only during the school holidays in February, April, and especially in the summer, departing from Marseille or Lyon.

For some time now, I’ve noticed it’s really hard to find a flight at a reasonable price (under 900 €) and, more importantly, with a decent itinerary (we’re often offered 2 or 3 layovers with total travel times of 40 or even 50 hours), and this is the case almost a year in advance. This is something we never saw even 4 years ago—I’m wondering: are there fewer flights available now...?

Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news. Habitués des réservations avec "booking.com" où nous payons à l'hôtel en arrivant , je viens de faire des réservations sur Agoda pour la Thailande , la Malaisie et Singapour , car les prix me semblaient plus intéresssants , mais en ayant choisi l'option " payer plus tard " , l'hôtel va nous débiter directement sur notre compte quelques jours avant notre arrivée , donc je suppose ( ?? ) que notre banque va nous prélever des frais pour paiement dans une devise étrangère ....Donc , au final , les prix qui me semblaient intéressants , ne le sont finalement peut-être pas tant que ça ... Meilleur choix ??booking.com ou Agoda.?

Ils me proposent donc de faire un virement de la moitié de la Somme ~100€ Mais je n'ai aucun document prouvant ma réservation. Sur booking le logement est plus cher. Nous sommes une famille avec 2 filles de 12 et 13 ans. Nous partons du 17/12 au 07/01 pour un séjour en Thaïlande, mon rêve.

Nous avons décidé pour le moment de faire Bangkok, ayutthaya, sukhothai, peut être chiang mai sinon on redescend à Bangkok en train de nuit pour aller ensuite à Krabi (on hésite avec samui) puis retour sur Bangkok avec un arrêt à erawan. Mon itinéraire fera l'objet d'une nouveau post.

Donc ma question étant dois je obligatoirement réserver mes hôtels à l'avance ou est ce que je trouverais des hôtels pas cher sur place (max 40€/nuit) au vu de mes dates de séjour ? Les hôtels présents en Thaïlande sont ils TOUS sur les plateformes de réservation ?

Our flights are booked, and we’ll arrive in Thailand at the beginning of January.

Originally, we were supposed to spend 14 days there. But after booking the flights and seeing the prices, we’ll now be there for 20 days instead.

Our initial plan was: 2 days in Bangkok 1 day in Ayutthaya 4 days in Chiang Mai 6 days around Krabi

So we have 7 more days to fill. What do you recommend?

An extra day in Bangkok? Adding more days in the north? If so, where? Exploring another region, like Kanchanaburi or Cheow Lan Lake? Traveling north in stages instead of taking the overnight train?

A few extra details about us: For us, vacation isn’t about relaxation—we love walking, exploring, and packed days don’t bother us. Hiking for hours and doing active things is what makes us happy. That said, we also enjoy visiting villages and towns if they’re worth the detour. In Thailand, we’d like to visit temples too. We’re early risers, so our days tend to be long. 🙂 In short, we like to keep things moving during our trips. 😉

Unfortunately, seeing terraced rice fields isn’t possible in January. I read there are rice fields around Sukhothai. Are they green in January?

In the north, do you recommend Doi Inthanon, Huai Nam Dang, or Doi Chiang Dao National Parks? Which one is the most beautiful and best for January?

Depuis la prolongation de la ligne du MRT, qui traverse maintenant Chinatown (Bangkok), il pourrait être intéressant de trouver un hébergement simple à proximité d'une station ou d'un des piers de la CPEB Company dans Chinatown.

Mais je ne trouve rien dans le budget souhaité sur les sites de réservation. Je me demande donc si quelqu'un connait des guesthouses non répertoriées dans cette zone ?

- budget 600 bahts maxi (en mars ou avril) ; - fan room avec fenêtre ; - salle de bain et toilettes dans la chambre ; - wi-fi (pas de dortoir, pas de salle de bain commune)

Si une telle perle existe, il me faudrait une adresse e-mail, une page Facebook ou au pire un téléphone fixe pour joindre la guesthouse.

POur un voyage dans le sud de la Thailande en avril et plus précisément Krabi et environs, conseillez vous de réserver les hôtels de chaque étape bien à l'avance ou pensez- vous qu'on peut y aller au petit bonheur la chance pour la réservation des nuits d'hotel?

Nous pensons faire éventuellement le parc national Khao SoK, Krabi, la province de trang, et éventuellement Kho Muk et sa fameuse grotte des pirates.

Hello, I’ve been to Thailand three times a long time ago, and I’d love to visit neighboring countries too: Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia (while returning to Thailand 😛). The catch is that I’d like to go at the beginning of the year, but I’ve heard that’s peak tourist season for these countries. Ideally, I’d prefer to avoid peak season to save money (I’m not exactly rolling in it) and to be able to travel without reservations—without being forced to take a room in the local "palace" that still has availability because of its exorbitant prices.

From my distant memories of Thailand, I usually paid around the equivalent of 20 € per night (with a hearty breakfast) for a hotel room with a mini-bar.

What are the average prices for this type of accommodation in Thailand and its neighbors during "peak" season these days? Do prices fluctuate a lot depending on the season, or is tourist demand not that different from one season to another, keeping prices relatively stable? Are the chances of finding a "budget" room without a reservation still high, no matter the season, in this part of the world? 😇
