Il est certain qu'il y aura certains quartiers à certaines heures à ne pas fréquenter. Mais sinon, le Cameroun n'a jamais été connu pour être une ville infréquentable comme d'autres. De là-bas tu pourras sans doute aller facilement à Sao Tomé, au Tchad ou en RCA par le train.
Si tu veux (mais je pense que tu dois déjà avoir des contacts locaux) j'ai un contact à Douala.
tu as beaucoup de chance de pouvoir aller là-bas. 😠

et deja bienvenue au Cameroun, Afrique en miniature, je voudrais juste te rassurer que Le Cameroun est un pays de paix et une terre d'accueil comme tu le verras toi meme, Douala est le poumon economique de ce pays etdonc une ville ou l'activites de tout genre prolifère, Douala est une chaude, vivante ou l'ambiance est permanente, ce n'est pas une ville particulierement dangeureuse mais il faut simplement faire attention comme tu le ferais dans n'importe quelle ville du monde, rien de particulier non plus contre les expat, je l'affirme et tu le verifieras surplace.

je suis camerounaise marié à un francais on compte rentré vivre au cameroun l année prochaine c est pour te dire que le cameroun est un beau pays tu ne regrettera pas et profite pour visité le pays
Alors, il est tout à fait évident que pour aller à Sâo Tomé, il sera difficile d'emprunter le train, c'est évident. Mais peut être que certain "oiseau rare" pense que la réalité est autre...
De plus, Sâo tomé est situé à environ 400 kms du Cameroun, à ma connaissance je ne connais pas de tunnel ni même de pont aussi long.
La ligne de chemin de fer camerounaise s'arrête malheureusement dans la ville de N'gaoundéré, qui fait office de point de rupture de charge. C'est à dire que les marchandises et voyageurs changent de moyen de transport à cet endroit. Ensuite, les voitures et camions prennent le relais.
Cet axe est une nécessité vitale pour les économies Tchadienne et Centrafricaine. En effet, dépourvue de façade littorale les importations transitent par le port de Douala et par le chemin de fer camerounais.
Ce chemin de fer est le cordon ombilical entre l'international et ces deux pays enclavés. C'est dans ce contexte que je disais qu'il est possible d'utiliser le train pour accéder à ces pays, même si le terminus est au Cameroun!
Restons courtois, ceci n'est qu'un forum d'échanges et non un sanctuaire d'échanges béliqueux.
Il y a plein de choses à voir au Cameroun ! Pas besoin d'aller à Sao Tomé (très très cher d'y aller...), en RCA ou au Tchad. En 18 mois, tu n'auras pas le temps de tout découvrir au Cameroun !
A Douala, comme dans toute grande ville, il faut faire attention mais les problèmes sont peu nombreux.
Je ne vis pas à Douala mais à Edea. D'après ce que j'entends et ce que je vois, il y a bcp de VIE à Douala qui se retrouvent dont tu ne seras pas toute seule !

Je me présente j'ai 25 ans et je vis au cameroun depuis quelques mois avec mon mari (moi je suis française et lui camerounais).
Ton avantage c'est que tu arriveras au cameroun avec boulot et je suppose appartement ou maison c'est déjà un très bon point. Si tu comptes venir seule, sache que le contact ici est facile, les gens sont abordables, que ce soit les locaux ou les autres expatriés français ou autres. Cependant, on ne te le diras jamais assé évite de prendre les taxis (des amies à moi de ma tranche d'âge, comme une tante de 50 passés se sont déjà faites agressées dans des taxis et ce en pleine journée donc évite: cela est courant, on te vol bijoux argent donc ce ki peut avoir de la valeur, et crois moi ici on peut te tuer pour un téléphone portable), de sortir seule la nuit. Je ne dis pas ça pour t'effrayer moi aussi au début je pensais ke les gens exagérer en me racontant cela mais c'est une réalité.
Appars ça, les gens ici sont très aimables, hospitaliés...

tu as tout à fait raison;les gens n'aiment pas qu'on leur disent la vérité!!et pourtant ;douala n'est pas une ville facile surtout quand on ne connait pas l'afrique ; à douala la nuit tombée il ne faut pas trop sortir! meme en voiture ;meme dans les quartiers comme bonapriso ;ou bonanjo; car vous pouvez facilement tomber sur ""les manges mille"" et qui dit blanc dit portefeuille bien garni.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.
I believe it’s time to bring this space to life to meet pressing needs and serve the common good of society.
The project is simple:
1) Grow maize + build a processing plant to produce flour
2) Open a mini supermarket + a modern bakery using the flour for pastries, etc.
