Je suis étudiant (plus tout jeune, 58 ans) de Hindi à l'Inalco (Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales, ex Langues Orientales) depuis 2003 et je viens de faire une partie de ma troisième année de Licence de Hindi.
Je pensais avoir déposé hier un message (1) parlant de ummeed (espoir) une association non confessionnelle laquelle, entre autres activités, prend soin d'enfants au Chhattisgarh, un état qui se distingue par une population tribale importante, une grande pauvreté et, surtout, une confrontation .
Je vous redonne le lien (2) sur zyada le site créé par un enseignant de l'Inalco et dédié en particulier aux étudiants de Hindi (mais ouvert à tout le monde). Vous y trouverez les statuts et les objectifs (3) de cette association, ses références officielles, les adresses à Raipur et à Ambikapur, les numéros de téléphone et son adresse internet. J'y donne aussi un lien(4) pour visualiser les photos d'enfants dont s'occupent mes amis (je reçois des photos tous les jours, au compte-gouttes).
Je connais bien les gens qui ont créé ummeed, je rencontre ses membres et me fond dans leur groupe chaque été (environ pendant deux mois) et ceci depuis trois ans. J'y retourne cette année (31 jours seulement) et j'y retournerai. Car j'aime l'Inde, une certaine Inde.
Pour ce qui est de l'aide je vais prendre contact avec Philsvg (5) pour voir ce qu'il est possible de faire, mon idée étant de limiter au maximum les intermédiaires entre les donateurs éventuels (tout en rassurant ceux-ci) et l'utilisation des fonds (j'ai eu l'occasion de voir par où ils passaient...).

Suite à une réponse privée je réalise qu'il est aisé de confondre Ummeed, association active principalement sur le Chhattisgarh, avec d'autres qui portent le même nom.
Je répond aussi ici à la question qui m'a été posée : peut-être est-il possible de partir pour aider sur place (après avoir demandé, en hindi ou en anglais, auprès de Ummeed (ummeed292@rediffmail.com)) mais ceci implique de payer son propre billet d'avion, de parler soit le hindi, soit l'anglais, d'accepter de vivre chichement et de penser à prendre des dispositions pour se prémunir contre le paludisme (très campagne et forêt dans le coin).
Une façon d'aider plus simplement est d'envoyer un petit mot d'encouragement (hindi ou anglais de préférence), soit à l'adresse indiquée sur zyada* (l'inscription ne coûte rien et le site est celui d'un enseignant de l'Inalco) sur le fil que j'y ai déposé.
Quant à celui qui écrit ces lignes il n'est guère plus qu'un messager annonçant une naissance et qui ira voir comment se porte le bébé au début du joli mois d'août.

I’m a volunteer leader at a youth center (MJC), and we’ve been deeply moved by everything happening in Madagascar—extreme poverty, endangered animals, deforestation, and so on. Plus, one of our teens has a Malagasy friend, so our group wants to travel there next year.
Throughout this year, they’ve planned fundraisers to collect donations (sheets, dish towels, schoolbooks, hygiene products, etc.) and funds to cover their trip and stay.
They’re really motivated and generous—they already volunteer in schools and senior centers, and they’re always welcomed warmly.
But so far, they haven’t found any organizations in Madagascar willing to host them for two weeks (orphanages, schools, animal protection parks, etc.).
Does anyone know of any contacts, please?

Hello, we’d like to travel as a family to Madagascar (2 parents, 2 kids aged 10 and 12). A first trip over 15 years ago completely amazed and moved me with its beauty, kindness, and life experiences—but also its poverty and hardship. That’s why I think it’s possible to introduce our kids to this island while also doing something useful through volunteering. The window is short—15 days in March 2020—which means avoiding the north and east of the island due to cyclones and focusing on the south instead. Some ecovolunteering projects exist online, but the cost is sometimes prohibitive, and kids are rarely accepted. Do you have any ideas or contacts? Thanks in advance!
