Nous avons décidé de venir en martinique pour toutes les merveilles que concentre l'île aux fleurs et aussi puisque nous avons sur place un ami médecin vivant sur madinina depuis 7 ans et marié à une martiniquaise
Je souhaiterais obtenir des renseignements pratico-pratiques pour voir si notre projet est envisageable. Mon mari est carreleur et a une expérience dans le domaine depuis pas mal d'années, il viendrait seul au debut pour trouver du travail et un petit meublé puis je viendrais le rejoindre par la suite avec notre fils. Je souhaiterais quant à moi reprendre un petit magasin de souvenir ou vêtement sur la cote sud ou pourquoi pas une petite épicerie d'alimentation général, tabac etc... pas dans l'immédiat mais peut etre au bour de 1 an ou 2 sur l'île
J'ai lu de tout sur les forums, du bon comme du moins bon notamment concernant l'intégration des métropolitains, du coup certaines questions me viennet a l'esprit
trouvera-t-il facilement du travail dans sa branche en BTP? Y a t il réèllement une embauche préférencielle aux locaux?
sera-t-il aisé de trouver un ti f1/2 meublé en location dans le sud de l'île avec un contrat en CDD par exemple? est-il possible de payer au propriètaire 6 mois à 1 an de loyer d'un coup de manière à le rassurer quant à notre solvabilité.
sera-t-il facile de s'intégrer et de reprendre un commerce en étant zoreille, ne prenons nous pas le risque de voir déserter la clientèle?
Les commerces locaux ou touristiques fonctionnent-ils bien dans le sud de l'île (ou ailleurs)?
Dans le btp en ce moment ça construit de partout et en règle générale on manque de main d'oeuvre sérieuse, travailleuse et qualifiée, donc je pense qu'il lui sera possible de trouver un travail
l'intégration, tout dépend de la personnalité de chacun;nous on est arrivé depuis 2 ans et 1/2 et aucun problème mais bon il faut quand même reconnaitre qu'il faut faire le 1er pas et ne pas reculer si on trouve des portes fermées, il faut se dire que c'est naturel et cela marchera les prochaines fois...
pour la location, il y a pas mal de petit proprio donc je pense que cela pourra se faire.
pour ton projet de magasin de souvenirs, comme tout commerce, c'est un peu la loterie, il faut être bien placé et avoir quand même un peu d'argent le tant que le commerce décolle, sinon c'est le stress assuré et la catastrophe.

Comme dit plus haut, il y a beaucoup de constructions, rénovations, etc sur notre île... Et il est difficile de trouver des artisans qualifiés, sérieux, rapides... Donc moi je dirais s'il bosse bien et qu'il est raisonnable dans ses tarifs, il devrait trouver du boulot sans aucun problème! Après, le bouche-à oreille fonctionne et si ses clients sont satisfaits, son carnet de commandes se remplira très très vite... Je parle par expérience, ayant eu à faire beaucoup de travaux dans notre maison, nous avons eu beaucoup de déboires avec les différents corps de métier.
Te concernant cela me paraît moins évident MAIS si tu as du temps devant toi, tu peux trouver quelque chose. Beaucoup de boutiques de souvenirs dans le sud, pas mal de métros y travaillent; qui sait peut-être une occasion de reprise se présentera à toi mais attention la boutique doit être bien située...
Sinon je suis moi aussi venue ici avec un bébé de 9 mois (elle en a 15 aujourd'hui!), j'en ai eu un autre (12 ans maintenant) et réellement je ne regrette pas de les avoir élevés ici, la qualité de la vie y est incomparable, les enfants se développent vite (pas engoncés dans les vêtements d'hiver par exemple), nagent très jeunes, sont en contact avec la nature et le grand air, et riches d'un mélange de cultures tous petits.
Bien sûr il y a des problèmes d'intégration, parfois de racisme, mais comme partout je pense et les relations et amitiés se développent sur la durée.

Je me demande s'il n'y a pas confusion dans les réponses ? Il me semble que ton mari va "chercher du travail" et j'ai l'impression dans la tournure qu'il s'agit de trouver un employeur ? Si c'est çà, dans sa branche il aura du mal, ici c'est l'empire des "jobeurs" dans ces branches là, c'est à dire des jeunes non déclarés, et uniquement locaux. Normal quant on sait que le chomage des jeunes ici est dans les 35%, c'est une question de survie.
En revanche c'est vrai que le marché existe et par contre en se mettant à son compte il y a des possibilités, car les entreprises posent souvent des problèmes, non par manque de qualification ou de sérieux, mais par certaines marques culturelles (exemple d'une ce ces "marques" : elle ne peut refuser de décaler ou supprimer des rendez-vous, si quelqu'un de ses amis, de sa famille, ou de sa clientèle la plus attitrée, demande une autre intervention en urgence, c'est ainsi...).
Côté boutique de souvenir, prudence par rapport à l'emplacement, la concurrence....et le produit vendu ! car franchement la plupart de ces commerces ne vendent rien de nature à faire bondir le touriste ou l'autochtone, et donc il n'y a pas de place pour 50 dans la même rue. Par ailleurs, il faut accepter dans le secteur des boutiques de souvenir, le vague mépris des martiniquais envers ces magasins tenus généralement par des métros venus chercher le soleil sans autre vrai projet, et vendant des produits locaux usinés localement par milliers d'une part, made in china d'autre part... Un peu de recherche de qualité ne nuit pas, mais çà peut être une autre prise de risque, à force d'avoir habitué le touriste à la médiocrité...
C'est peut-être un peu radical et très subjectif comme point de vue, mais il découle de discussions avec des amis ou collègues sur le même sujet...
Je reponds pour ce qui est du magasin de souvenirs, c`est vrai que dans le sud il y en a pas mal et qu`ils vendent bcp de choses deja vues surtout que les touristes metropolitains regardent de pres les prix. Je le sais j`etais dans le commerce la bas avant. Il faut essayer de nouveaux concepts, apporter de nouvelles idees et pas forcement essayer d`avoir pour clientele les metros, moi je trouve que c`est mieux de viser les martiniquais et martiniquaises mais bon chacun son idee. Et pis les martiniquais n`ont pas de mepris envers les metros qui tiennent ces magasins si il y en a qui ont ce sentiment et ben ce n`est pas tout le monde.
