Après avoir fait la RN7, Manakara, Ifaty, Anakao en Avril 2008 et en attendant avec impatience de partir en septembre faire la Tsirinbihina et les Tsingy puis Sainte-Marie.
Une idée me turlupine, et pourquoi pas faire un circuit moto en septembre 2009.
Amis du forum et baroudeur de Mada, que feriez vous en 2 à 3 semaines en moto ( sachant que je ne suis pas adepte de l'aller-retour par la même route ou piste ).
Circuit 2 à 3 milles kilométres ( quelqu'un a t'il déja réellement essayé avec une Chinoise un long périple ? ). tant qu'a faire dans l'original !
Il y a de quoi faire à Mada en Moto et surtout en motocross, j'en ai rencontré pas mal dans le grand sud entre tulear et fort dauphin et même dans le nord de Mada cela doit être une bonne expérience!!!!😉
Oui, comme le dit Jipi, il y a QSF du forum qui fait un ou deux trips par an comme cela avec des potes!!!🙁

je te propose depart de tana direction antsirabe apres miandrivazo malaimbandy morondave belo antsalova maintirano apres tu a le choix de partir sur majunga par la piste mais pas si tu est seul mais attention faisable tout de meme ou comme moi prendre un bateau de maintirano pour majunga deux jours de mer minimun mais la cela vaux le coup apres majunga retour sur tana tres belle route et la voit tu en trois semaine tu profitera pleinement de tous avec tout de meme la serieuse envie de revenir car tu aura une sensattion de ne pas avoir profiter de tous ce que tu veras et de tes rencontres extaordinaire de tous les raid que j'ai fait a mada c'est le plus beau pour moi je compte me refaire le circuit a l'envers sur 3 a 4 semaines
je te donne en gros le circuit mais cela n'a rien de contractuel quand on voyage en moto on a une grande liberte de deplacement tous en respectant certaine regle de securite comme partous la piste te rappel vite a l'ordre et ne jamais rouler de nuit a ton service pour tous renseignement pratique sur mada en moto

C'est balourd, j'avais pensé à pleins de circuits, mais pas celui-là, sauf Tana-Morondava pour la cote ouest mais en descendant vers tuléar et en remontant la RN 7,
ou sinon j'avais vu la route vers Majunga et remonter vers Diego, mais j'ai cru voir que le retour sur Maroantsetra n'est pas possible !

en premier pas de probleme pour le bac de majunga il est regulier il y a des endroits ou il faut charger les motos dans des grosses pirogues mais aucun problemes pour les traversers au sting il y a un bac pour traverser la riviere de toute façon au mois de septembre tres peu d'eau bonne periode le circuit que je propose pour trois semaines que tu envisage est tres bien cela permet de ce poser et profiter la piste entre maintirano et majunga est assez dur deconseiller de partir seul mais tous est faisable
pour louer les motos tu peut le faire a tana plusieur solution la premiere fois nous avions louer des transalps mais beaucoup trop lourd sur les pistes l'ideal 200 ou 350 cm3 plus dur a trouver j'ai acheter un 200 honda a antsirabe moto pratiquement neuve pour 2000 euro cela fait deja 4 raide que je fait avec aucun soucis avec bonne moto pas tres rapide mais tres fiable et peu gourmande en petrole un avantage
je te donnerai les adresses des loueurs je doit consulter mais archives mais en regardant sur le forum tu trouvera j'ai deja informer plusieur fois a ce sujet
pour les motos chinoises moi personnellement je trouve que ses de la daube le prix est atractif tu en trouve pour 1000 euros mais avant de taper la piste si tu veut te faire plaisir tout de meme prevoir une grosse prepa avant.

Je pense que mon principal soucis, sera de ne pas se planter de piste si il n'y a pas d'info entre les villes ( ça fait partie aussi du charme de Mada ).

il y a peut de chance pour se tromper de piste mais cela arrive nous en avons fait une fois l'experience rien de dramatique si ce n'etais le fait d'etre juste ce jour la en essence a mada il y a deja pas la barriere de la langue meme si tous le monde ne parle pas le francais dans les coins un peu reculer mais pour avoir deja bien avaler des km on est toujours arrive a bon port
pour ma part j'ai un blouson moto avec coquille integre, modele ete. un casque ouvert avec visiere pratique pour les insectes et gant cycliste plus une petite tenue de pluie bien pratique la bas quand je roule pepere je suis en t schirt mais tu aprecie le blouson quand tu te vautre sur les pistes pour les chaussures des pompes de marches .etanche
si tu a vue les photos j'ai des sacoches de randoner equestre que je place ou sur je reservoir selon etat des piste ou a cheval sur le biplace tres pratique pas genant pour la conduite ou l'equilibre je les fixe en securite avec des colsons cela ne bouge pas
il faut partir avec le minimun prevoir de l'outillages pour pouvoir reparer les petites conneries j'achete sur place des fringues que tu peut donner au gre de tes rencontres ça fait toujours plaisir

et pour les médicaments, ceux-la je les proménes jusqu'au dernier hospice avant départ. Pas fou non plus !
Je vois que la piste et le gras te manque déja, l'histoire du Train, je l'avais aussi imaginé lorsque je cherchais un circuit.
Mais maintenant, ton idée est ancrée, d'ailleurs à ce sujet, si tu as une liste de tes bon plan hotels pour mon trip,
j'ai déja noté, villa mena à majunga.
Au fait, si tu retrouves ta liste de location bécane, mais pas des Transalp à 50€ la journée si possible !!!
J'arrive avec un peu de retard dans la discution sur cicuit mada en moto, cela ns interesse mon mari et moi; ns avons laissé nos HD en France mais tjrs pret à partir et faire circuit; surtout que d'après ce que j'ai pu voir depuis 1 mois il y a pas mal de routes sympa à faire quand je suis allez aux chutes de lili j'ai appréciée la route et j'arêtais pas de dire à mon mari cela serait sympa de la refaire en moto, alors si vous avez un trip pour juillet 2009 ns sommes partans, une balade à plusieurs c'est toujours plus sympa et convivial surtout pour ce qui connaisse Mada.
Dimanche ns partons pour Tamatave pendant 3 mois pour le travail bien sur mais est-il possible de faire de belles balades ds cette province.

pour la location ou les circuits organisés, comme dis qsf, il y a Traces à tana, Trajectoire à Tuléar et Fort Dauphin.Si tu pars en individuel (sans guide)en dehors du goudron comme la RN 35 d'Ambositra vers Morondave ou de Morondave à Tuléar en passant par Manja il vaut mieux que tu ai des notions de conduite en TT, de navigation, de mécanique, équipement d'enduro de préférence pour les protection, une bonne autonomie...mais ça vaut le coup de se donner du mal pour avoir de bonnes sensations.

I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

I just realized I’ve been registered on VoyageForum since... March 28, 2012 😊. Yet, I’ve barely participated until now.
August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. If I’m finally taking the time to write, it’s mostly because after five years on the road, I thought our experience might be useful to other travelers.

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.

I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

I’m looking for info on shipping my vehicle by sea—possibly to Uruguay or another destination, as I haven’t finalized anything yet.
How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?
Where can I get vehicle insurance?
Lastly, if any bikers want to join us (my partner and me), we’re open to that possibility too.

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
Here’s the idea:
Day 1 (departure at noon): Marrakech - Tizi n Test - Tafingoult (165 km - 4h15)
Day 2: Tafingoult - Amzarkou - Telouet (200 km - 4h34)

Day 6: Agoudim - Imilchil - Aghbala - El Ksiba (280 km - 4h45)
Day 7: El Ksiba - La Cathédrale - Zaouiat Ahansal (212 km - 4h20)
Day 8: Ahansal - Ouzoud Waterfalls via R 302 (188 km - 4h22)
