C'est la saison des pluies mais est-ce tout de même une bonne époque pour s'y rendre ? Temps - eau - moustique... etc..

a part cela nous en avons quand meme profiter malgre quelques bivouac humides.
les moustiques il suffit de se proteger.
a part cela le senegal est un pays ou les gens sont d'une gentillesse et d'un acceuil qui pourrait en remontrer a beaucoup.

Fin Juin début Juillet, c'est vraiment juste côté pluies. En général, ça débute vers le 15 Juillet.
Mais il commence à faire chaud quand même, et la température de l'eau augmente aussi.
Pour la protection contre les moustiques, le classique traitement préventif, mais ça dépend aussi ou vous allez.
Si c'est au Club Med des Almadies, ce genre d'hotel est traité, faut juste bien se couvrir la nuit.

Nous avons passé deux semaines de vacances aux almadies (club med) il y a quelques années.
Les enfants (ados à l époque) en garde un souvenir impérissable. Ils aimeraient y retourner mais en évitant le club, afin d êre plus proche des habitants. Mis à part cela, le club n est pas mal du tout. Les chambres sont petites.
Le personnel était parfait et les visites très bien organisées

Je suis allée au Sénégal en 2004, du 24 juillet au 10 aout. On a eu en tout et pour tout une journée de pluie dont l'après-midi où le soleil est revenu. Temps superbe sinon, beau et chaud.
On était à la Somone où on avait loué une maison. Vraiment sympa et une bonne façon d'être dans le pays. On faisait nos courses tous les matins dans les "magasins" de la Somone 🙂
Les Sénégalais sont exceptionnellement gentils sinon le pays n'est pas magnifique. cela vaut surtout pour l'accueil et la manière de vivre.
La saison que tu as choisis est tres bien juin tu ne risques pas d'avoir une goute et ce ne sera que FIN juillet qu'il y aura quelques petites gouttes !
Pour les moustiques à n'importe quelle saison il faut prendre un traitement.

Savez-vous s'il existe des gens qui acceptent de jouer le rôle de guide durant une journée ou deux avec voiture à disposition pour 5 personnes (+ le chauffeur/guide). Et à quel tarif ?

Le club med des almadies ressemble à presque tous les club, avec ses GO et ses GM.
Si tu veux sortir, pas de problème, oubien tu demandes à un GO, sénégalais de préférence, de t'aider, oubien directement au gardien de l'entrée du club, qui te trouvera un taxi (jaune/noir) pour tes sorties. Ils y en a beaucoup garés devant le club.
Je te conseille l'ile de Gorée. Mais pour la visiter, préférés un samedi ou un dimanche, car les autres jours le circulation est difficile au centre ville. Même chose pour visiter Dakar, toujours un jour de week end.
Sinon vous pouvez sortir à pieds du club, soit côté mer soit côté entrée, pour aller manger une crêpe par exemple ou des fruits de mer. Il y a aussi un l'hotel méridient en face.

je ne dirais k tu as chosi la meilleure des periodes pour venir au senegal mais cest lune des periodes les plus abordables, pluies moins abondantes, bain de soleil parfait, les moustiques en fonction de la localite dans laquelle on se trouve.pratiquemment les almadies est un super endroit, calme pas de trop de moustiques mais lessentiel cest de se proteger.

je suis allée au sénégal fin juin et début juiillet en 2004 ; j'ai eu du soleil ;un peu de pluie . Quand il pleut au sénégal cela dure quelques minutes;ou l' on peut quand meme se baigner car il fait chaud et c' est rigolo.
Ensuite le soleil revient et tout sèche trés vite.Je suis retournée au meme endroit L'année d' aprés 3 semaines en juillet et la j'ai eu
un peu plus de pluie mais rien de catastrophique.Pour les moustiques il faut se badigeonner de produit dès que le soleil se couche.
nous nous étions a saly et tout c'est bien pasée voila pourquoi nous y sommes allez deux fois .De plus en 2004 notre fils avait 8 ans.Cette année c' est république dominicaine.

toujour dans les zones tropicales, il existe une forte temperature durant les mois de juin, juillet et aout.en effet avec l'avenement de la pluie, nous assistons a une forte proliferation des moustiques.cependant je vous suggere de prendre vos distances avant de venir.

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.

We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Not sure if guidebooks, agencies, and other tour operators are keeping up by changing their visiting hours and offerings.
Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊
