sur saly fin aout vous aurez : peu de monde, de la chaleur, de la pluie, de l'herbe verte, mais toujours le sourire des habitants !
peu de monde : bah, la majorité des vacanciers préferent venir dans les pays chaud quand il fait froid chez eux.....
de la chaleur : il fait toujours chaud au senegal, jamais moins de 20 la nuit et le jour entre 30 et 40 en moyenne.
de la pluie : bon normal c'est la saison des pluies de juillet à septembre, alors la pluie içi heu, comment dire, (moi ça me fait doucement rire je suis normande) c'est une heure par ci par là, c'est de la grosse pluie qui mouille bien et inonde tout mais jamais toute la journée. On m'avais fait un tableau apocalyptique de la saison des pluies, j'ai meme failli prendre mes bottes en caoutchouc (verte) mais la pluis n'est pas un pb en tant que telle. Attention je vois ça avec mes yeux de normande habituée à des mois entiers de pluies continue
l'herbe verte : pluie = renaissance de la nature (et des petites bétes style moustique). tout le senegal est vert, c'est absolument superbe.
vous aurez aussi : chaleur + pluie = moiteur. avantage pas de pull dans la valise ni de serviette de bain, (impossible de s'essuyer)
toujours consécutif à la pluie vous aurez aussi coupure (intempestive et parfois fort longue) d'eau et d'electricité. ce qui dans un grand hotel peut passer inaperçu donc pas de pb vous aurez la clim et pourrez vous essuyer après la douche.
le sourire des habitants : chez eux c'est naturel, chez nous la vielle dame croit qu'on en veut à son sac.................
en gros voila la saison humide et si vous êtes en hotel ou dans une maison avec clim, groupe et reserve d'eau la moitié de nos soucis occidentaux serons réglés.

Fin Aôut est le début de l'hivernage la pluie commence à tomber vers le 15 Aôut, la chaleur est lourde (30-35°) avec peu de différence entre la t° de la nuit et celle du jour, les moustiques font leur apparition en nombre.
Par contre l'eau est chaude 28°, la mer est agitée et la végétation change le paysage, les champs reverdisent et deviennent cultivables, les agriculteurs sont affairés dans les champs.
C'est un climat fatiguant mais mérite d'être vécut.

je vis en grande partie au sénégal, et de juillet à septembre, il fait tres chaud, il pleut beaucoup, le courant pas souvent à part dans les hotels et restaurant et rarement chez les particuliers loueurs, si pas de courant tres peu d eau, donc c est pas le meilleur moment pour venir, il ne faut pas craindre la chaleur, et pour les visites sous des pluies torencielles pas marrant, mais bon c est une experience,
donc si tu cherches à louer, il faut qu il y ait un groupe electrogne, sinon c est galère.

Je suis allé a Dakar il y a plus de trente ans en célibataire et j'y retourne fin aout avec mon mari et ma fille. Je voudrais qu'il découvre ce magnifique pays. Mais je suis inquiète au sujet de la saison des pluies. Nous sommes dans un hôtel à Saly et nous voudrions visiter les sites principaux avec une personne du pays et non pas en car de touristes. Bref je voudrais que ce voyage reste un super souvenir pour ma fille comme cela l'a été pour moi il y 30 ans. MERCI
Déjà je vous souhaite un bon séjour au sénégal, vous avez raison en ce qui concerne les excursions, avec les bus c est cher et complètement différent, je connais un guide si vous le désirez pour vous emmenez où vous voulez.
En ce qui concerne la période, il est vrai que ce n est pas la meilleur, depuis 4 ans la période des pluies est tres importante, donc pour visiter pas facile de circuler, je ne veux pas vous effrayer mais vous ne pourrez certainement pas faire tout ce que vouss voulez, en plus à saly il fait plus chaud qu'à Dakar, environ 7° de plus, si vous avez déjà pris vos billets alors vous n'avez pas le choix.
Vous allez trouver un véritable changement en 30 ans, entre l'autoroute de Dakar qui avance et le nouvel aéroport qui sera à 20 mn de saly et normalement ouverture en 2011.
Saly est devenu une ville tres touristique, enfin un peu moins en ce moment, mais une petite ville sympa, le marché de mbour etc....

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights

I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
