Je viens d'aller voir sur le site (avec traducteur); bien sûr, ils disent que c'est efficace mais je ne connais pas sa composition "benzamide de diéthyle NN 0 12%" est-ce celà la DEET mais alors il ne fait pas les 20% recommandés par nos médecins!

Je peux te dire en tous cas que la crème Odomos est SUPER efficace: pas une seule piqure sur tous les endroits que tu auras enduis 🙂
odeur agréable, crème pas grasse, très bien tolérée par les enfants: j'en ai ramenée en France tellement je la trouve bien😉

Je lis l'étiquette du spray Odomos :
- N.N-Diethyl/benzamide 12%
- w/w Isopropyl Alcohol 34 %
- excipients q.s
Le berlingo (crème liquide blanche) ne contient pas d'alcool je pense.
Et le diethyl/benzamide est bien le deet dont tu parles (selon Wikipedia) :

Je confirme l'efficacité de Odomos pour l'utiliser moi-même. Son prix = moins de 1 € (entre 50 et 60 roupies) 😉
Plusieurs articles peuvent nous inquiéter sur ce fameux Deet :

Mais il faut choisir, entre le risque possible présenté par le Deet et les piqûres de moustiques et le risque de Malaria, Dengue, Chikungunya, Tomatoe fever (je ne sais pas ce que c'est mais cette maladie est souvent évoquée dans les articles du Hindu au chapitre Kerala en période de mousson), Encéphalite japonaise, bref le Botin habituel des maladies dont les moustiques sont les vecteurs 🤪

En fait on s'en mettait plutot pour toute la nuit et OUI l'effet est bien continu
pour la journée je ne sais pas (pas de moustiques au Rajasthan en journée, et d'ailleurs peu la nuit, plutot le soir sur la terrasse), mais rien ne t'empéche de prendre le tube avec toi et de t'en remettre un peu sur les parties non couvertes du corps si il y a eu transpiration 😉

Merci pour ton message; c'est vrai qu'on pourrait en rire avec ZAO si ce n'était si grave! j'ai trouvé sur ebay ULTRATHON (deux tubes pour 9€) qui contient 35% DEET et est le seul à avoir une durée de vie de 12H. J'ai donc commandé deux tubes. Maintenant, il me faut une lotion pour laver mes habits et ma moustiquaire; je me demande si le schampoo permétrhrine est bien le produit qu'il faut ou s'il existe en lotion!
Si je tombe à cours, je prendrai donc ODOMOS sur place; existe t-il en lotion ou spray, dans quel cas je pourrais asperger habits et moustiquaire sur place?

je pense qu'odomos a également une durée d'action de 12 h... c'cest être moins concentré mais ca suffit 😉
beaucoup de voyageurs en font provision pour ramener en Europe, moi meme j'en ai acheté là bas tellement j'ai été enchantée par cette crème: effet total et très agréable y compris pour les enfants 🙂

Bon, le DEET m' a pas trop pris la tête............Je peux te dire ('je suis rentrée il y a 3 semaines)que
tu en trouve partout dans les petites boutiques bazar/pharmacie....
tu paies ça .................80 INR c a d 1, 20€. Pour ce prix là, tu as un tube de dentifrice gratos avec!!!!!
c' est super efficace même à Bénarés, ça calme les piqûres que t'as chopées quand t' avais pas

Je n' ai rien fait du tout, car Odomos suffisait!!!
Et que j' évite d' être obsessionnelle sur les moustiques, sinon, ça te bouffe le voyage!!!
Parcequ' à part l' obsession des moustiques, t' as celle de l' eau en bouteille, ou désinfectée et ça
tourne à la paranoïa!!!
De plus, je n' avais pas forcément de moustiquaire et si j' en avais, je m' en servais telle quelle!!!

Tu as raison, je suis toujours partie sans problème : moustiquaire non traitée, habits non traités, une seule fois sur tous mes voyages en Inde et Thailande , j'ai pris des médicaments (par contre vitamine B1 ou B12), répulsifs quand même et j'ai fait des treeks pourtant et dormi en pleine jungle et en ashram.... Mais quand on se renseigne un peu chez un médecin, voilà, ils te mettent le doute et te foute la trouille!!!! mieux vaut encore ne rien savoir parfois.... A Bientôt.

je pense que tu es assez mal renseigné. le paludisme est une maladie endémique des zones intertropicales. les programmes de lutte contre les vecteurs (moustiques), de prévention chez les populations exposées, les missions de l'OMS, les programmes de recherche sur des vaccins, font dépenser bien plus aux états concernés et à l'OMS, que tous les vaccins contre la grippe A.
le virus de la grippe A provoque une pandémie, c'est à dire risque de toucher le monde entier en même temps ppendant une période donnée. à la saison prochaine, ce virus sera intégré dans les différents types de virus saisonniers, pour le vaccin 2010-2011.
on ne peut pas comparer les deux pathologies, même s'il est vrai que si nous avions du paludisme dans nos contrées, on pourrait espérer plus de crédits pour la recherche...

Odomos spray (destiné à la peau) contient du DEET, les produits pour vêtements de la permethrine ou dérivés. Par contre, solvant alcoolique et durée d'efficacité peu prévisible et probablement courte (en terme d'heures, comme sur la peau). Cela peut être une solution . Cela se fait chez l'enfant. Attention: Le DEET peut endommager les tissus synthétiques (je l'ai testé 🙁)
Permas peut être utilisé pour pulvériser la face extérieure de vêtements: Diluer une part de la solution à 10 % dans 50 parts d'eau (toujours référence Institut de Médecine Tropicale d'Anvers. Je ne connais pas personnellement ce produit). Eviter de les mouiller complètement, et ne pulvérisez pas la face intérieure. Le produit peut être irritant pour la peau, d'autant qu'il n'a pas été conçu pour cet usage.
Si vous ne trouvez pas de solution pour les vêtements, tant pis, soyez vigilante sur le traitement de la peau. Par contre, une moustiquaire imprégnée est toujours préférable.
Je ne pensais pas que cela soit si difficile en Belgique. Dernière solution: Faites un aller-retour à Charleville Mézières, Lille ou Valenciennes: Vous trouverez Insect Ecran ou Repel Insect dans toutes les bonnes pharmacies.
moi je pense avoir un sérieux probleme avec les moustiques.... vous pouvez être certain que si nous sommes 20 dans une pièce, tout est pour moi. j'ai voyagé 5 semaines avec une fille, elle n'a jamais rien eu, moi j'étais bouffée !! j'avais un repumsif spray acheté ici (Belgique) un puissant parait il, ca n'allait pas. j'ai essayé celui de mon amie, pareil. j'ai ensuite acheté odomos, pareille... bouffée intégralement...
je ne sais pas ce qu'il y a dans mon sang, mais apperement ça leur plait beaucoup, et moi ça me pourri la vie... 😕

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

After those 6 months, is it possible (instead of bothering a relative to send the medication) to see a foreign doctor to get another 6-month travel authorization? How does it work at the airport? The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.
Preventive vaccination (of the animals) is being considered.

Once symptoms appear—sometimes weeks or even months later—death is inevitable.
It’s the bite that transmits the disease.
There are so-called "furious" forms with aggression, but also forms without aggression.
