Les frais de scolarité dépendent, grosso modo, de l'école. Outre les frais d'enregistrement (les frais d'inscription ont été officiellement supprimés), il faut acheter les fournitures, uniformes, chaussures, à cela, périodiquement, il faut ajouter des frais d'examen, le coût du transport etc... S'agit-il d'un internat ? De quel cycle veux tu parler : JSS ou SSS ?

Pour pouvoir te donner des infos plus précises, il me faudrait connaitre le cycle exact (je ne sais pas à qu'est ce que le cycle 3 au Québec), car l'âge n'est pas vraiment une indication dans la mesure ou certains enfants commencent les cycles scolaires tard (exemple une fille de 12 ans en 1ère année de primaire). Pour autant, les frais d'inscription sont, normalement gratuits depuis 2 ans. Je sais qu'il existe ça et là, des frais d'enregistrement...
Pour l'uniforme compter 20 cédis (x 2 = 40 c), les chaussures compter environ 8 cédis. Pour le matériel scolaire livres etc, j'attends ta réponse (éventuellement une liste car les écoles distribuent la liste du matériel demandé) pour pouvoir te donner des infos.
La délégation ghanéene avait, effectivement, de beaux kenté mais je ne sais pourquoi, ils avaient mis des chemises blanches en dessous...Je n'ai jamais vu cela ici !

Pour avoir fait, hier, c'est tout frais, des emplettes pour la rentrée scolaire pour 5 enfants, il faut compter aux alentours de 60 cédis par personne pour ce niveau scolaire (chaussures - 2 paires dont une pour le sport + vêtement de sport - uniformes - 2 jeux - + cahiers divers + stylos + matériel de peinture et dessin + matériel de couture + + +)....
Ce à quoi, il faut quelques fois rajouter, les frais d'examen, aux environs de 50 cédis (vers le mois de juin).
Avec l'aide de donations diverses, j'aide à la scolarité d'enfants et jeunes, du kinder garden à l'université. Pour autant, j'écris bien j'aide, c'est à dire que j'achète la plus grande partie des fournitures mais refuse de payer tout, afin que les familles ne tombent pas dans le piège de la dépendance totale, qu'elles gardent une part active, plus ou moins importante selon le revenu de chacun d'entres elles.

présentement elle n'a pas de spécialité. la famille dit que le coût est de 200$ (us). Mais nous ne pouvons nous fier à ce qu'ils disent. Et comme tu dis la famille doit faire des efforts pour payer une partie, car il est trop facile de ne pas bouger et d'attendre que l'argent arrive.

200 USD me parait énorme, à moins que les chaussures, vêtements achetés ne soient que du haut de gamme et que la famille inclus dedans les frais de restauration du midi. C'est une pratique courante ici que j'ai toujours refusé, partant du principe que scolarité ou pas, la famille aurait à assumer l'alimentation de l'enfant.

nous croyons aussi que le coût est élevé et croyons que la famille profite de demander plus pour s'en mettre dans les poches. Nous avons envoyé beaucoup d'argent jusqu'à maintenant et il est clair pour la famille que c'est TERMINÉ sauf pour la scolarité de la nièce (Gambie) de mon conjoint qui fait de gros efforts. Elle a commencé l'école à 10 ans, très intelligente et elle travaille fort car elle a 17 ans et elle est à sa dernière année de SSS.
la famille a toujours d'excellentes raisons pour demander des $$$$$. dernièrement la maman avait demandé d'envoyer de l'argent pour le mariage de quelqu'un de la famille (un oncle), ce que nous avons fait car nous avons un GRAND respect pour cet oncle (il a 70 ans et travaille encore, tandis que les soeurs et frêre de mon conjoint qui demeure au Ghana profite de la facilité ce qui veut dire ne rien faire).
Nous avons envoyé 1000$, et avons dit à la maman de mon conjoint de prendre 300$ pour elle et donner le reste à son oncle. Niet, l'oncle n'a rien reçu, !!!!!!!! donc depuis nous n'envoyons plus rien. (la maman ne pensait pas que nous étions pour vérifier car jamais nous l'avons fait)
Nous avons demandé à la nièce une autre copie pour les frais, mais elle dit qu'elle est en attente mais elle a besoin de l'argent très bientôt car elle commence le 15 septembre.
Je vais lui demander de me la faire parvenir par courriel ou télécopieur. nous croyons que la famille utilise la nièce pour en demander plus.

Cette jeune fille semble très douée pour "avaler" aussi rapidement les programmes scolaires en 7 ans alors que le parcours normal exige environ une bonne dizaine d'années, pour les 3 cycles scolaires .
Ce que vous racontez est malheureusement courant ! Vous êtes aussi des "obruni" (littéralement ceux d'au delà l'horizon, dès lors, cela s'applique à tous et même aux natifs du continents expatriés). J'imagine que pour votre mari cela doit être extrêmement decevant d'ainsi se faire "plumer" par des membres de sa propre famille.
J'ai souvent eu écho de ce genre d'histoire. Par exemple, un ami sénégalais vivant en France, venant de se marier avec une jeune femme sénégalaise (éduquée...université et tout le toutim...) restée au pays pour régler les formalités administratives d'expatriation, demandant tout les semaines à son mari, de l'argent pour passer des échographies hebdomadaires....
Les stéréotypes règnent en maître. Obruni ou toubabou ou nassara = argent. Les locaux ont des représentations incroyables (l'inverse existe aussi !)... Souvent encouragés par les africains expatriés qui, cachant leur véritable situation à l'étranger, laissent croire à l'opulence, l'argent facile etc...Avec retour au pays avec nombres de cadeaux (quelques fois pour des sommes folles), dons, souvent obtenus grâce à un mode de vie plus que frugal et des crédits (à des taux de remboursement délirants) contractés avant le départ.
Tout cela pour ne pas décevoir, de laisser à penser la réussite... car, d'ici, avoir un membre de la famille ou, de manière plus générale, de la communauté est considéré comme un signe extérieur de réussite et richesse. Il est vrai que si l'on compare avec la pauvreté de certains pays...
Faites moi savoir lorsque vous aurez le document et il pourrait être judicieux de prendre contact avec l'école et d'éventuellement trouver un relais sur place.

I’m heading to Bangkok for a 5-month internship, and I’m wondering about the budget because I’ve read all sorts of things—so I decided to post here to get answers tailored to my situation! :D I found housing that costs me 7,000 baht (I know it’s a bit pricey, but it’s super convenient...), which works out to about 160 € all-inclusive. So, I was wondering if it’s realistic to live on 500 or 600 € per month, and if so, under what conditions? Is that enough, considering I’ll be working 40 hours a week?

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Hi, I’m a self-employed physiotherapist in France, and as my wife (a nurse) and I look into working abroad in about two years, I’ve been offered an equivalence to become a respiratory physiotherapist in Switzerland. Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area. Anyway, that’s not the main point—could anyone explain the pros and cons of doing this job in Switzerland? Based on the paperwork I’ve received, the equivalence seems purely administrative or almost... What about working conditions, quality of life, salaries, etc.?

In the summer of 2026, my husband is being transferred to New Caledonia. We’ll be living near Nouméa. Do you know if the early childhood sector is a good field for jobs there? Can’t wait to discover this island! Right now, we’re in the middle of all the administrative paperwork for our 3 kids, finding housing, bringing our cat to the territory, and so on! I’d like to know if this level qualifies me to apply for the DV Lottery.
Regarding my work experience: • I work as an *Employment Counselor*. • I checked on O*Net Online for the classification: Job Zone 4, SVP Range: 7.0 – <8.0. • I only have one year of experience, but I handle similar tasks in business creation.
So my question is: can I apply for the DV Lottery despite my relatively short experience, given that my job falls under Job Zone 4?

We’re a couple with a child living in the Paris region, and I’ll be relocating to Aix-en-Provence in spring 2026. We’d love to swap our apartment for a house with a pool within 20-30 minutes max of central Aix, with a budget of around 650k €.
In terms of climate and geography, I’ve read that Aix is in a basin where it can get really hot. What about the surrounding villages that are a bit more elevated, like Venelles? Is it just as stifling?
For a family, which area would you recommend?

Starting this spring, we want to settle near Aix-en-Provence. We're tired of living in the mountains with all the snow—we really need some sunshine and a fresh start. Is it hard to find a house to rent there? What about prices? If you have any great tips or useful info about the area, we’d love to hear it. I work in education and want to do prevention work in Marseille or Aix—are there jobs in the social sector?

So I’m reaching out to people who live there or know the country well: I’d like to know what the best ways are to advertise and get known in Thailand. Are there any local classifieds newspapers? First, I’d like to practice from my apartment. Is that allowed in Thailand? Ideally, I’d like to work part-time in a private hospital as an osteopath. I’m thinking that in Thailand, the medical field is much more open than in Europe!!! Has anyone seen an osteopath or chiropractor working in a Thai hospital? Do you know the price of a consultation?
