hi there, we’re leaving on 11/11 on the Costa Favolosa. Since we’ve already visited CADIZ several times, we’re doing the excursion to SEVILLE. There are two options: a guided tour or SEVILLE on your own. If anyone’s done it, how does the "freedom" day go? THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY.

Best regards.

Hello, We did Seville independently and I highly recommend this kind of excursion. A guide met us at the bus stop and took us to the city center—or rather, the entrance to the city—and we had an amazing day!!! She arranged to meet us back at the same spot at a set time and took us back to the bus (about a 10-minute walk). She also pointed out an info point that gave us all the details we needed. Among other things, we took a horse-drawn carriage that gave us a magnificent 1.5-hour tour for 45 €! I *highly* recommend this independent excursion, though it’s true this system works much better for us than group tours. Whenever this type of excursion is offered, we always prioritize it. Happy cruising.

The top priority in Seville is the Alcázar. Booking in advance is essential, and it's much more interesting with a guide than on your own.

Seville without visiting the Alcázar is like visiting Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower

Hello,

Yes, it's true for the Alcázar, but you really should book in advance to avoid an endless queue at the entrance. We'd already seen the Alcázar before, and just like in Paris where there are plenty of other things to see besides the unmissable Eiffel Tower, in Seville it's the same—it's magnificent. One spot you shouldn’t miss is the stunning Plaza de España: a real gem! I’d happily go back to Seville for a third time....

Thanks for the info. I found a site with a low price for seniors. What’s the best site to book? Thanks. Have a good evening.

Hi there, Your message feels like it’s from far away! We’re spending 6 days in Seville starting December 27th. My question: For those who’ve been—is it worth hiring a guide to explain the history of a monument or the cathedral? What are the must-see visits? Thanks for your reply! J Paul

Good evening, Two stopovers in Cádiz, and visits to Seville at your own pace. 1st time: Alcázar and Plaza de España 2nd time: Cathedral and Plaza de España For the Alcázar and the Cathedral, book in advance. Before departure, we usually prepare our stopovers by sending a letter to the tourist offices of the cities we plan to visit, who send us documentation and, most importantly, maps. You can find their email addresses on their websites. Best regards, Jibé
