Ma fille a été acceptée, directement, sans passer par un organisme, par un lycée Américain et elle a également une famille d'accueil qui remplit les formalités de son côté. Je n'ai pas encore les documents demandés par le lycée; Mais j'ai beaucoup d'informations contradictoires concernant le visa nécessaire.
Help donc
elle partira pour quelques mois et aura 18 ans la-bas.
quel visa ? (nom exact ! j'en ai repéré au moins 4 avec des indications identiques)
puis faire les formalités moi-même ?
l'établissement peut-il faire lui même les démarches de son côté ?
dois-je passer par un organisme ? et si oui , pourquoi et je dois pouvoir négocier car j'ai fait une bonne partie du boulot (lycée, famille, transport....)
je cherche également une assurance santé valable sur place et naturellement des bons plans (arizona)
j'ai entendu qu'à moins de 18heures de cours par semaine, elle n'a pas besoin de visa spécifique. Vrai ?
et enfin dernière hypothèse, peut-elle aller la-bas en touriste et aviser sur place ?

Pour ne pas avoir de mauvaises surprises, il faudrait contacter directement le consulat US de votre région, car sur un forum vous n'obtiendrez pas nécessairement les bonnes infos, et c'est une très mauvaise idée de partir aux États-Unis sans avoir les documents requis, elle risque d'être refoulée.
Vous pouvez commencer par visiter leur site web (tapez dans google). Selon moi, il lui faudra un visa F (student) puisque ce sont pour des études.

Bonjour! Comme on vous l'a dit dans une des réponses précédentes, le visa pour aller étudier (lycée ou université) est le visa F1.
Vous trouverez plus d'infos sur ce visa sur le site du bureau américian des affaires consulaires (en anglais)
Attention, les enfants de plus de 14 ans doivent se rendre à l'ambassade américaine pour passer un entretien. Cela fait parti des formalités. (visas pour enfants, site de l'ambassade américaine)
De plus, lorsque l'on a le visa F1 il faut savoir que si votre fille va en lycée public, vous devrez vous acquiter de l'intégralité des frais de scolarité et votre fille ne pourra séjourner aux USA plus de 12 mois. (ceci n'est pas obligatoire pour les écoles privées)
Surtout, ne pas l'envoyer avec un visa touriste et aviser sur place! ceci est très mal vu des autorités américaines qui pourraient lui refuser tout visa pendant plusieurs années.
Pour l'assurance santé, elle est indispensable car les frais médicaux aux USA y sont très élevés. allez donc voir sur www.europusa.com c'est un site spécialisé sur les Etats Unis, qui propose de très bonnes assurances notamment pour les jeunes qui partent étudier là bas.
Dès que le lycée en question l'accepte et fournit les formalités il faut tout simplement prendre un RV au Consulat USA (15 €) pour obtenir le visas F1.
Ne pas oublier de la monnaie pour faire des photos identités format USA donc.
Mais si votre enfant ne passe que 3 mois pas besoins de visas seul le passeport suffit et cela vous reviendra moins cher

😉le 'probleme' c'est qu'on vous dit de regarder du cote du visa F1, et vous regardesz du cote du visa J1: ce ne sont pas les memes papiers demandees, ni les memes procedures!
le DS2019 c'est pour le J1; pour le F1 il faut que l'ecole vous fournisse ce papier: I-20 A-B
ensuite, a vous de prendre connaissance de toutes les infos demandees par l'immigration US...en allant sur le site de l'ambassade par ex!

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
