I'm looking to print a standard police form because I'm traveling to Senegal in a motorhome in early 2025. I saw on the forum that it's highly requested in Mauritania, Senegal, and even Guinea by police or military on the roads. Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

This form is only useful in Mauritania. And even then, I’m told this practice is fading out. It just needs to include the usual details: last name, first name, passport number, home address, date and place of birth, destination, and the vehicle’s type and registration number.

Nothing too complicated! There’s no official format. This practice started to avoid writing all this out by hand at every checkpoint.

Safe travels!

thanks for the info. I’ll prepare it myself. Best regards

Hi there, Sure thing—no police registration form is needed in Senegal. However, in Mauritania, the practice is still very much alive. Over two months this year, I filled out around fifty of those forms! Of course, it all depends on the areas you're traveling through. Best regards,

50 forms... I haven’t been there in a while. But I remember since I’m going back at the start of 2025.

Have a good day

As far as I know, it’s not required in Guinea except maybe at some borders, but not elsewhere.

This was for Mauritania. In 2020, 80 forms in 10 days. From north to south. I made photocopies of my passport—that was enough. For a vehicle, I don’t know.
