J'explique : Mon ami est Thai et moi Français, il était en France pour ses études mais son visa terminé il a dû rentrer chez lui.
je suis travailleur indépendant (je réalise des reportages), et j'ai la chance d'avoir beaucoup de temps de libre pour moi.
J'ai très envie d'aller souvent en Thaïlande rejoindre mon ami et rentrer en France environ tous les 3 mois pour mon travail. Mon séjour en France serait d'environ de 10 à 20 jours (ou plus) à chaque fois, le temps de travailler, voir ma famille et retourner en Thaïlande chez mon ami, ainsi de suite... En gros je vie chez mon ami en Thaïlande et je vais travailler en France, financièrement c'est réalisable pour moi.
Je veux aller en Thaïlande à chaque fois avec un visa touristique car je tiens a conserver en France mes droits (SECU, Mutuelle...) et continuer à payer mes charges, impôts etc... et ne pas travailler en Thaïlande.
Alors j'ai vu qu'il est possible de faire un Visa touristique de 60 jours (gratuit) en France puis une prolongation de 30 jours sur place dans un bureau d'immigration (1900 TBH) soit en total 90 jours et là je rentre donc en France.
Voilà ma 1ère question : Est-il possible de retourner en Thaïlande de la même façon (visa 60 jrs + 30 jrs) 10 à 20 jours après être resté en France ?
Ma 2ème question : Si oui combien de fois je peux obtenir de visa de ce type dans l'année pour me rendre là bas ? (es-ce limité?).
Ma 3ème question : j'ai vu qu'il y a aussi le visa Touristique 60 jours simple entrée, double entrée et entrées multiples, je ne comprends pas bien cette méthode pouvez-vous m'expliquer ?

Je n'ai rien lu d'officiel à ce jour concernant le nombre maximal de visas touristiques successifs (double-entrée ou non) qu'on peut obtenir pour la Thaïlande. Les lois ont changé plusieurs fois depuis 2006, et la dernière modification date de quelques mois seulement. Aux dernières nouvelles (à ma connaissance), il existe une limite (de 4) pour le nombre d'entrées successives par voie terrestre dans le cadre des exemptions de visa.
Même si je n'ai encore une fois rien lu d'officiel à ce sujet, j'imagine qu'on ne vous laissera pas effectuer indéfiniment avec des visas touristiques des séjours en Thaïlande entrecoupés par de très courts passages à l'étranger. On risque de considérer que vous n'êtes pas réellement un touriste si vous passez la majeure partie de l'année au Pays du Sourire.
Je l'ai déjà écrit dans un autre fil de discussion, mais cela peut vous intéresser également : j'ai lu sur ThaiVisa (forum anglo-saxon spécialisé sur les questions de visa) qu'un type avait pu faire 9 entrées successives avec un panachage de visas touristiques, d'extensions et d'exemptions avant qu'on lui indique sur son passeport que c'était la dernière fois que c'était possible, mais comme cela couvrait une période où la loi a changé, je ne crois pas qu'on l'autorise désormais.

1/ Un visa double-entrée te permet de faire 2 séjours séparés, dans la limite de validité indiquée.
2/ La limite du nombre de visas run est "suspendue" pour les retours par avion.
3/ Tu peux demander simple entrée ou double entrée, ce sera accordé ou pas selon la politique de chaque consulat. Le visa entrées multiples est accordé dans certains types d'activités spécifiques, on n'est plus dans le visa touristique.
4/ La gratuité est valable jusqu'au 4 mars 2010.
5/ Etant donné la politique des visas, il vaut mieux suivre son actualité en particulier sur le site officiel du MFA.
6/ La solution la plus pérenne vis à vis de l'Immigration est de demander le visa dont on a besoin selon sa situation réelle.
A priori, les visas touristiques ne sont plus délivrés indéfiniment (ce qui ne me surprend pas vraiment, même si je n'ai rien lu d'officiel sur ce point à ce jour), en tout cas, au moins dans certains consulats ou aux services consulaires de certaines ambassades.

On est touriste on demande un visa de touriste.
On est "résident", on demande un visa de résident.
Ceci posé, c'est vrai que la politique adoptée dans ce pays au sujet des visas mériterait d'être clarifiée.

- Au départ: la compagnie peut refuser ton enregistrement sans billet retour si tu n'as pas de visa.(très rare)
- A l'arrivée, l'immigration peut te refouler (dans la pratique, je ne connais pas de cas avéré).
Donc le plus tranquille, pour 3 mois:
1/ prendre un petit billet remboursable prouvant ta volonté de sortir de Thailande dans les 30 premiers jours de ton séjour (pour cette durée, tu as une exemption de visa à l'arrivée à BKK), mais tu ne peux rester que 30 jours, puis visa-run
2/ demander un visa touristique (gratuit jusqu'au 5 mars) simple ou double entrée avant le départ; on peut aussi te demander ton billet de retour, mais ça peut aussi passer sans. Demander ensuite une extension de visa sur place, ou utiliser le visa-run suivant le visa touristique que tu as obtenu.

Je confirme : le mieux, c'est de demander un visa touristique 60 jours avant de partir que vous pourrez étendre de 30 jours à l'immigration en Thaïlande, mais c'est peut-être un peu juste avec un départ le 9 janvier selon l'endroit où vous habitez. Faites-le si vous pouvez.
Sinon, KhunFred vous a indiqué une autre solution qui peut convenir. Pour information, si vous voulez demander un visa touristique après les 30 premiers jours que vous obtiendrez dans le cadre d'une exemption de visa en arrivant par avion, c'est possible gratuitement jusqu'en mars 2010 par exemple à Vientiane au Laos (on peut même obtenir gratuitement un visa touristique 60 jours double-entrée aux services consulaires de l'ambassade royale de Thaïlande à Vientiane). Je sais qu'à Vientiane, on n'exige pas la présentation d'un billet d'avion.

Pour les retraits d'espèces, 99% des ATM te facturent 150b à chaque passage, donc il vaut mieux par exemple emporter des espèces avec toi, les changer sur place (taux pratiquement identiques d'une banque à l'autre, Suvarnabhumi compris), effectuer des retraits hebdomadaires (les 150b sont identiques qqs le montant), travelers checks si tu aimes, un mix de tout ça...
On peut régler en CB hôtels, supermarchés, ...

Juste pour information, depuis début décembre, les distributeurs de billets de la Bank of Ayudhya ne chargent plus les 150 bahts à chaque retrait avec une carte bancaire étrangère.

ATM C EST L EQUIVALENT d un distributeur de billet e France et en thailande tu e trouves tout les 50 metres donc aucun soucis de retrait d argent avec carte visa ou autres cartes bancaires , choses qui me surprends un peu c est que tu ne saches le cours de la monnaie du pays que tu veux visiter alors pour info avec 1 euro tu a environ 50 Baths, je sais que pour les puristes et casses couilles ils diront c moins de 50 baths mais c pour te faciliter les calculs 100 baths = 2 euros pas besoin de sortir de saint Cyr. Donc a chaque retrait si l on te prends 150 baths cela fait donc 3 euros. reste a savoir combien te prends ta banque en france ( de l ordre de 5 euros les enfoires )....
Voila donc aucun soucis de retrait d argent. sinon pour trois mois prendre 2500 euros de liquide c est pas non plus une grosse betise tu as droit a 7500 de liquide sur toi, t pas oblige de pavaner avec, soi prudent tout comme en france d ailleurs.
En resume un peu de liquide des retrait CB et tout baignes.

Pour 3 mois, je te conseille un mix de différents moyens de paiement. (J'ai personnellement connu une grosse galère de CB, donc il ne faut pas n'avoir que ça sur soi).
Pour les travellers checks, c'est vrai qu'on les "paye", mais c'est une garantie en cas de perte ou vol, et tu peux obtenir des espèces dans toutes les agences. Par contre, je te confirme que ce ne sont pas des moyens de paiement direct.
ATM (je te conseille de mémoriser) veut dire Automated Teller Machine, c'est à dire distributeur de billets. Ils sont plus sophistiqués qu'en France, et les indications à l'écran sont en thai ou en anglais par exemple, mais jamais en français.
La Western Union est bien implantée dans toutes le villes, mais le plus simple c'est encore d'aller à la Poste publique qui assure aussi ses opérations.
La Poste est à ma connaissance un des endroits les plus réfrigérés de Thailande, avec les banques et les bijouteries sino-thais...😉Attention aux chocs thermiques!

The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.
With the new regulations/visa:
"Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....
So, to anyone who’s successfully gotten the authorization, could you tell me which address you used to get that "elusive" approval?...

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

We need to apply for a B2 visa because we visited Iran in 2018. It currently costs $185, but they’re planning an additional $250 fee per person for the same visa—it’s been approved but not yet implemented. Does anyone know when this fee will take effect?

In November, we're heading off on a 4-month trip. We'll be landing in China and plan to leave the country via a land border into Vietnam.
I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.
Has anyone here been in this situation recently?
Did the airline ask for an exit ticket before boarding?
Did Chinese authorities require proof upon arrival?
Is a train/bus ticket to Vietnam sufficient?
Is a cancelable or flexible reservation accepted?
