Go Voyages, a company to avoid

Hello everyone,
A message to warn potential customers of "Go Voyages" about my recent experience.
I left from Geneva for Colombo on December 18, 2025, with a round-trip business-class ticket purchased on Go Voyages, with Etihad Airways, and a layover in Abu Dhabi. Access to the business lounge was denied (I have a 7-hour layover both ways), and I had to pay $160 to get in, despite having a business-class boarding pass.
I’m currently in Sri Lanka, and for a month now, I’ve been trying to get an explanation for this refusal and to find out if I’ll be denied access again on my return on March 12, 2026.
After two calls to the priority line of the "Prime" service I subscribed to (a paid subscription, of course), which is supposed to assist me 24/7 during my trip, after about ten emails that only led to being redirected to links like Opodo, then eDreams (an inaccessible site), and then other links that just sent me in circles... it’s absolutely insane, all this just to answer a fairly simple question: why wasn’t I informed about this potential refusal by Etihad when I made my purchase? All Go Voyages would need to do is contact the airline to resolve this quickly... but no!!! After a month, ten emails, the last response was: contact the airline directly!!! Which, of course, redirected me back to Go Voyages!!
Completely unacceptable! The "Prime" service from Go Voyages is a total scam—completely ineffective, with customer service nowhere to be found. My issue isn’t life-or-death, but imagine a more serious situation where you’d need quick assistance... don’t count on "Go Voyages" to help you at all!! You’d likely be pretty disappointed!! My advice: RUN from this agency, which is headquartered in Spain and owns Opodo, eDreams, and Go Voyages.

Hi,
Some airlines now sell business-class tickets with a fare class that doesn’t include seat selection, like Air France I think, or lounge access, like many Gulf carriers. Turkish Airlines, for example, still includes all these services in business class. You were just misinformed.

Hi,
Is there any financial benefit to booking a ticket with Etihad through an agency (Go Voyages)?
Personally, for many years now, I’ve always booked directly on the airline’s website, and I get the same price within about ten euros.
Go Voyages has had a lot of complaints over the years...
Hi there,
Thanks for sharing your experience—it just confirms once again why it’s best to book tickets directly on the airlines’ websites instead of dealing with middlemen.

Hi there,
I don’t think it’s wise to fixate on this online agency like this. They’re not at fault, except for not clearly informing the passenger about the services included with the ticket’s fare class. The real issue is Etihad.

The ticket was bought through go.voyage, so it’s up to this agency to clearly answer the buyer’s question. If the agency doesn’t have the answer, it’s their job to ask Etihad.
Otherwise, what’s the point of using an agency?
Go Voyages sold the "Value" fare, without lounge access, instead of the "Comfort" fare, which includes lounge access, 40 kg of baggage, and other perks. Travel agency websites are set to prioritize "price" as the selection criterion and always offer the cheapest class.

No more fixation on this agency than on others; the information should be clear and unambiguous (and given how often I deal with them, that’s far from the case…)
Not to mention that at least when dealing directly with reputable airlines, you get a response quickly. I had that experience recently with Emirates.

No excuses, just the account of a bad experience... I don’t know if you work for Go Voyages, but you’ve given me more explanations in a few lines than Go Voyage and its "premium" service did in a whole month!! 10 emails and 2 phone calls!!
I’ll say it again: if I’d been told about access to the business lounge when I bought my flight ticket, I would’ve chosen another option to avoid 7 hours of layover on the way there and back!!
Non-existent assistance, terrible customer service... if you’re aware of the different business-class options, it seems like the bare minimum for Go Voyage is to know about them too and inform their customers!! So no excuses... just anger and frustration!!

Good evening,
I only did a quick simulation on Go Voyages, and it seems their policy and approach is to indicate with symbols what’s included in the ticket. With Etihad, I didn’t see any lounge access indication. That said, I simulated Turkish Airlines, and there were no symbols either, even though lounge access is included.
Business-class tickets are a bit special—I wouldn’t have thought to buy one this way through an online agency.

These attempts to polish Go Voyages' rather tarnished reputation are starting to look suspicious...
To wrap this up, if you're aware of these different options, admit that Go should be too... and that at the time of purchase, the customer should be informed about what they're actually buying. Also, admit that it took a month, two phone calls, a dozen emails, and posts on forums for Go to finally react... only to tell me that as an intermediary, they couldn't do anything—which I'd already noticed.
PS: As for the idea of buying a business-class ticket through Go, which you don’t find "wise," I don’t see what—other than their incompetence—should have discouraged me... but the lesson was learned, and I’ll never travel with Go, Edreams, or Opodo again, as they’re all brands of the same Spanish group.
Have a nice day

Hello Patrick,
These attempts to polish Go Voyages' rather dull reputation are starting to look suspicious...
I’ve been here for over 20 years—if I worked for an agency, you’d know it. I’m just trying to explain. Agencies are also the advertisers here; they fund our free service, so it’d be good to avoid overly simplistic dismissals.

I’m not "aware" of anything—I just checked Etihad’s website. These agencies do have gaps in follow-up, yes, that’s true; this one and others.

The fact that business-class tickets no longer automatically include lounge access is fairly new and specific to certain airlines—either mid-tier or those with elitist pricing. I’ll let you name them... Often, business-class customers are quite knowledgeable.

Hello again,
I’m not sponsored by anyone, I’ve never worked for any agency, I never use their services—I’m just trying to provide some context. And I’m not anyone special to speak on behalf of the forum admins either; I was just pointing out that it’s free, for your convenience, and that companies advertise here.

I see that you're worried about the reaction of the agencies that "sponsor" you—I thought I was on an independent forum... it seems that’s not the case....
Sometimes stubborn, often factual and precise, no one can suspect Tatra of "collusion" with any organization... And the fact that you can express your feelings with such a post title proves that this forum is and will remain (we hope) a place of free expression with respect for everyone. But if you still have doubts, you can look elsewhere—no one’s keeping you here 😉

It seems like everyone on this forum thinks they get to decide who can speak, how, and on what topic... rest assured, agencies will keep advertising on "your" forum, and I’ll keep paying the full 450 € for access to a service no one warned me I’d be locked out of. As for the "we’re not keeping you here"—I’d love to know who this "we" is and who they’re speaking for......

Indeed, one might wonder how someone who has worked "30 years in tourism" can still be fooled by online agencies (and, for that matter, why they still use them, given they must know all the ins and outs?).
And also, why does this person feel entitled to accuse a fellow forum member of collusion without any solid evidence?
As for who can speak and how, it seems to me you’ve been able to do so freely… It was *you* who questioned Tatra’s integrity.
But who is this "one"? Someone who respects people who’ve been contributing to this community for years and doesn’t badmouth the forum by their 4th post.

I see that "your" community sticks together—just a word in your rant about "being fooled." Glad you admit it... As for your lectures, it might be wise to reread this entire exchange from the start... Who was talking about an obsession from the very beginning? All I did was report verified facts... Who was surprised that someone could buy a business-class ticket through an agency? And my recent arrival on "your" forum doesn’t give you the right to lecture me!! Don’t worry, I’ll make the decision to leave on my own, given the bias of its participants. I hope your partnership with the agencies that sponsor you continues... I’ll turn to other independent forums—ones that aren’t afraid of losing ad revenue....

Hi Patrick,
Of course, Go Voyages allows you to buy a business-class ticket, but from experience, I know these tickets are rarely purchased by passengers who aren’t frequent flyers—usually those with FFP status and thus well-informed about the services (or lack thereof) tied to the exact fare class. It’s really a blind spot in their business and customer base. Their after-sales service isn’t great—that’s true, and your story confirms it. I don’t know of any French-language travel forum whose business model *isn’t* based on ads and paid options for readers or creators.

Hi there,
What a bad idea to book through Go Voyage!
This warning goes for all the middlemen that are popping up selling flight tickets.
We can’t say it enough:
Always buy your flight ticket directly from the airline’s website—nowhere else!
It’s just not worth the hassle.

Hi there,
Your situation can unfortunately be explained by a specific point in Etihad’s policy.
Generally, a standard Business class ticket with Etihad does give access to the lounges in Abu Dhabi. However, since March 2025, “Business Value” tickets (entry-level fares) no longer include free lounge access. In this case, access becomes payable, and the $160 fee matches the on-site rates.
The first thing to check is your booking class on your e-ticket.
You can verify this directly on Etihad’s website via “Manage My Booking” using your reference. Etihad can confirm within minutes whether your ticket is “lounge eligible” or not.
Agencies like Go Voyages sometimes sell promotional “Business” fares without certain included benefits, and this is often where the confusion arises. The back-and-forth between the agency and the airline is unfortunately common.
If your ticket is indeed a standard eligible Business class, then the refusal isn’t normal. If it’s a “Business Value” ticket, the paid access is unfortunately in line with the new policy.
This should already help clarify things for your return on March 12th.

Hi there,
Thanks for your clear and concise message.
It just goes to show that the 10 emails and 2 phone calls sent to Go Voyage to try and get an answer about their refusal to grant access to business class—all of which went unanswered—confirm the sheer incompetence of their so-called "premium" service. And that’s no excuse for the lack of information when buying the ticket.
