Je (re)part vivre à Londres en September (2011 hein) et j'aimerais savoir vos avis sur le meilleur moyen de trouver une collocation à Londres.
Pour faire court, j'ai vécu à Londres toute mon enfance (de mes 2 à 14 ans) et depuis que je suis en France (j'ai du suivre ma mère..) je compte y retourner. L'année dernière j'ai fais une première tentative mais au bout de 4 mois j'ai du rentrer chez ma mère parce que je m'y étais mal pris. Je suis parti avec un budget trop sérré et surtout je n'avais pas de logement. au début j'habitais chez une amie d'enfance, mais je ne pouvais ps rester chez elle éternellement du coup je me suis retrouvé a vivre a l'hotel pendant presque 2 mois... En fait, je visitais des appart mais je n'avais pas assez de sous pour payer d'un coup deposit+un mois d'avance + un mois de loyer du fait que je payais l'hotel donc "gachais" de l'argent chaque nuit en payant ma chambre. Et a cause de mon travail je n'avais pas assez de temps pour chercher/visite des chambres (je finissait souvent tard donc faut le trouver le proprio qui veut bien te faire visiter a 11h-minuit..)
Bref, cette fois j'aurais assez de sous, mais je ne peux pas habiter chez mon amie. Je ne veux pas habiter à l'hotel (trop de mauvais souvenirs), donc je me disais "pourquoi pas passer par une agence afin d'avoir un logement des mon arrivée ?" Sauf que d'après ce que j'ai lu sur certains forums : agences = arnaque. On va me dire "va sur gumtree", sauf que pour l'instant je suis a Paris donc je ne peut pas faire de visite (et hors de question de payer avant d'avoir visiter ou d'envoyer des sous a un proprio pour qu'il me réserve sa chambre). Je ne peux pas me déplacer pour faire des visites de chambres parce que je travaille et de toute façon je n'ai pas les moyens de faire des allés-retours d'une journée... Je pourrais arriver à l'hotel puis chercher sur place, mais j'ai trop peur de mettre du temps a trouver une chambre et
Donc je viens vers vous pour savoir s'il existe des agences serieuses qui proposent des colocations. Sinon, selon vous, comment devrais-je m'y prendre ? Si vous avez vécu une experience similaire, comment avez vous trouvé votre logement ?
D'apres tout ce que j'ai lu et vu a Londres, il n'existe pas d'agence vraiment serieuse.
Le second probleme et tu dois probablement t'en rendre compte pour avoir habite ici, c'est que si tu trouves un logement, puis un travail de l'autre cote de Londres, il te faudra une heure et demie de trajet pour t'y rendre en empruntant les transports publics... en plus du cout du transport !!
En troisieme lieu, il ne faut jamais envoyer d'argent par avance car il y a trop d'arnaques sur internet.
Et en quatrieme, je loue moi meme des chambres en colocation et n'accepte JAMAIS de reserver une chambre sans avoir rencontre la personne (Je l'ai fait dans le passe et cela ne m'a apporte que des deboires... ) et tout proprietaire serieux fera la meme chose !
Donc, je te conseille de venir, prendre une chambre en auberge de jeunesse pour une ou deux semaines et prospecter et visiter les appartements. Si tu as deja le travail, arrive une semaine avant de commencer et visite les quartiers aux alentours.
Autrement, tu peux essayer par recommandation. Si tu connais des gens sur la France qui connaissent des gens sur Londres.
Tu peux regarder sur les sites suivants qui sont animes par des francophones vivant ici et on te dira la meme chose, a moins que ce soit une personne travaillant dans une agence... Ils essaient regulierement de vendre leur baratin !

Je pars le 20 septembre. J'ai une amie qui habite la bas à 2 minutes de la gare, elle m'a proposée de rester chez elle quelques jours le temps que je trouve un logement ( ca m'évitera au moins les auberges de jeunesse!) et je pense qu'avant de partir je regarderai sur des sites comme gumtree et je m'organiserai un planning de visites...
Vu que tu y a vécue quelques années tu connais peut-etre les quartiers sympas ou habiter ou travailler?
Apparement il est déconseillé de passer par agence, et je veux bien le croire! Donc moi je pense que le mieux c'est de te donner quelques jours en arrivant pour faire pleins de visites!
